Opinion: What new Android version were you most excited for

We’ve come a long way since cupcake (v1.5). What new Android version were you most excited for and why? I, for one, was really excited for Ice Cream Sandwich. The Holo UI, android beam, and data usage had me salivating. What about you?

Well I am most looking forward to the upcoming 5.0 Key Lime Pie(?) just because it is amazing how far android has come since I first used it with 1.5 on my droid eris. I am sure Google has some great things planned and can’t wait to see them unveil it and how it will make android an even more complete and even smoother OS.

Cupcake closely followed by doughnut, as at that time, it was not a great os, and was deemed to be failing.

If though builds didn’t sort out a load of bugs, and catch on we wouldn’t be here now.

2.3 was a person fav of mine, I thought ICS, was a step back in stability, but JB seems to of sorted that out.

5 will be good, but it won’t be big life changing (you know what I mean), like the early updates were.

I’ve just entered the android game. My first phone (the one I have now) was on GB and updated to ICS in a month of ownership. So, I really didn’t have time to get exited about it. Because I have doubts my phone is going to go JB, I’ll be getting a Nexus 7 soon. Well, I wan’t a tablet also. But quite exited about JB at the moment.

  I would say there is a lot of difference, except bug squashing and tweets.
  
  Bit the big benefit is project butter. It does make it feel a lot smoother.
  
  A small critic is I’m not a fan of the new settings menus, well I love it, it just took me some googleing to find it. And it could look better!
  I think sense and TW,toggle bar within the notification bar is a much slicker look.
  
  To me the new way, of not taking up the whole screen length, makes it look like the ios rip off notification drop down, which is hideous. I can’t believe apple ever let it out in the wild.

IceCream Sandwich for me! I came into the Android world when it had already reached Froyo. I tried to be excited for Honeycomb but I had no plans of getting a tablet so it didn’t work for me.

ICS was what I was most excited for as a release, but I’ve actually found Jelly Bean to be more enjoyable overall.

  I agree. Jelly Bean, even though visually comparable to ICS, overall is more enjoyable and a breeze to show off! The Project Butter smoothness that they incorporated actually makes me think sometimes that I have butter/oil on my fingers …. Lol
