Slightly O/T–ARM Chromebook Question

Posted Dec 12, 2012 at 4:20 pm in Threads > Smartphones & Tablets

Sorry for the slightly off topic question, but I still figured this would be a good place to ask:

So, I LOVE my new Arm Chromebook, though there are a few issues that I was wondering could one day be improved merely from updates.

For instance, streaming ANYTHING (Rdio, YouTube, Google Music) while doing anything else causes a lot of lag. Is that due to Chrome OS not yet fully optimized for ARM? Does that even make sense? (Not quite sure)

Also, there’s often times when I try to resume from hibernation that the screen remains dead, and I have to physically turn it off. Again, software optimization problem?

I also notice Chrome likes to refresh all my tabs at certain points, and I have no idea why.

So, yeah. Would simple, future updates be the solution? Any word on this? Or, should I get the 550?

are you running the stable channel or are you running beta or dev channel

I had a bunch of problems with my CR-48 for the 2 or 3 weeks i was on the dev channel

beta channel seem pretty good on the CR-48 but this may be problems related only to the new ARM chromebooks

Stable, then went to Beta for the hell of it last night. Same problem persists. Will most likely go back to Stable.

But, yea, I heard nothing about this regarding the 550. :/

Check the flash versions in chrome extensions. You might need to update them. There should be 2 flash extensions. Also try disabling one and rebooting.

I’ll look into that when I get home, thanks!

Any other thoughts are welcome too. Thanks, everyone.
