Sprint/HTC event in NYC

I’ll be attending the Spring and HTC media event in NYC next Wednesday to get some hands-on time with Sprint’s version of the HTC One X. I plan on doing the usual coverage with a ton of pictures, some video and hopefully some benchmark testing, but I wanted to see if there was anything that you guys want me to test out while I have access to the phone.

Leave a comment below and let me know what you want to see with the HTC One X.

I want to see you test out the camera. If they provide a WiFi connection, maybe you can login to Twitter or Google+ and upload some test shots from the event.

Agreed. Do we know if it’ll be running the new 4G radio, or do you think it’ll be limited to 3G speeds? I’d like to see the DL/UL speeds compared to the current publicly-available system, but I bet we have to wait on that.

Sprint is launching their LTE network in the first half of the year, so I’m guessing they are using the dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with integrated LTE modem. Not sure if they will have a working LTE network to test the device on in NYC, but I guess they could set one up for the event.

Yeah, I should have clarified. I figured the 4G radio would be there; I just didn’t know if the infrastructure would be in place to see real-life speeds (or as close as you can get on an announcement-day phone). Let’s hope we can see!

When Sprint unveiled the HTC EVO 4G two years ago in NYC, they brought in a mobile WiMax unit since they had not launched the service in NYC yet. I’d imagine they will do the same with the One X since Sprint’s future is LTE and people will want to see how it stacks up against Verizon and AT&T.
