What’s Your Resource

One thing I that I like about AndroidandMe’s threads is the flow of discussions while not feeling like an actual forum. But I got to thinking where does the AndroidandMe community go when they have a question or issue relating to their Android device? This came to me as I have been researching info on using the HTC One X abroad and did not see that it suited the vibe of these threads.

So where do you go when you have a particular question? Do you go to the manufacturer’s site? Contact the carrier? Or do you go to another community to seek an answer?

Would you like a specific Q&A section of the site just for help? It’s something we discussed in the past.

I think it’ll be nice to have a dedicated section for Q&As. Maybe there can be a way to credit points to those that answered the question?

A&M isn’t a dedicated Q&A service is how i look at it. Expanding too fast to too many things could cause a massive dilusion to the site.

There are other major sites that do that kind of stuff already, namely Android Forums and XDA. If you can’t find an answer to your question there, the answer doesn’t exist. I have a feeling most of the Questions on an A&M Q&A portion of the site, would just be links referring to those sites anyway.

Agreed. Things are already scattered. We have a massive update coming along to re-organize stuff, but it’s still a couple months away.

For questions I pretty much always wind up at XDA. They have all the answers. For me Android and me is for new ans opinions.

XDA for me, they all come up with the goods.

yesterday they saved my OneX, i flashed AOKP on my device, and was locked out of recovery, a simple ‘Fastboot clear cache’ via ‘cmd’, sorted it, but with out XDA id never of known.

Android Forums, I spend way too much time there.

XDA is pretty much Mecca for anything Mobile, sometimes we forget that its not just an Android site. Theres Windows/iOS/Android etc – its all there.
