Where’s Motorola?

With all of the hype around the new HTC handsets and the anticipation of a new Samsung Galaxy SIII, noticeably absent from all of the chatter is Motorola. Maybe they’re in flux with the acquisition by Google. Perhaps, they’re secretly working on a new killer device. I remember when Taylor had all these rumors about the T2 devices with the Nvidia Tegra 2. I don’t seem to hear anything anymore.

Personally, I have found the HTC and Samsung devices to be more compelling, but I know there are a lot of people who love the Moto devices. Do you think that Motorola still has a chance to come back as a premier device maker? Or do you think Motorola is out of the game?

Moto has been cranking out devices at a maddening pace. RAZR, RAZR MAXX, and Droid 4 all within the last few weeks. Sure they’re working on stuff, it’s just being overshadowed right now by the HTC One series and the GS3.

I guess no one really cares about Motorola anymore. Or the ones that do are over at Droid Life…

It’s not that no one cares. It’s just that they blew their load earlier in the year.

I’ve never been a fan of Moto but I’ll be keeping a closer eye on them going forward. I’d like to see how Moto changes after becoming a google company.

In this year’s relaease cycle they were the first. RAZR, RAZR Max and so forth. Kinda sucks to go first.

I think maybe moto is working on less devices for the carriers. Maybe they are finally making one flagship model for each carrier ala droid razr hd. I think that is smart if they go this route rather than releasing a ton of phones and taking forever to update them.
