Who else would like to see a Sony Nexus?

After seeing the Xperia Z photos from CES, I have said it on other parts of this site and I will say it again, that has got to be one of the nicest pieces of hardware I have ever seen.

Sony is the current leader in Cameras, the screens are exceptional and the new industrial design is sleek and high quality. Couple this with the fact that Sony is on record as saying it is no longer interested in cheap devices tells me they are planning on putting a huge effort into once again being a premium brand.

Who would like to see a Sony Nexus phone next year?

  • redraider133

I would. I think Sony makes great phones just usually only make it to AT&T here in the states. Think a Sony nexus would be an amazing device.

  • jamal adam

I think phones like the Xperia Z and the news about being more of a premium, high-end brand make Sony a good OEM to partner with to make a Nexus and plus they have being great with the developer community. They have the capabilities to make a great Nexus, I for one would be interested and hope that they get the opportunity.

  • overclockthesun

Plus 1 here +1 +1 +1! fr one … sony phones always have exceptional camera quality. Even my little sis’s 2 mp x8 takes better pics than my 5mp defy.

  • Dr.Carpy

I would buy a Sony Nexus in a heartbeat. If the Sony Z is the blueprint, a Sony Nexus would be beastly!

  • amIT29

I would surely like sony to comeback in android picture as major oem ..good guy sony needs to be there with sammy n htc ….

  • kazahani

There were rumors last year about a Sony-made Nexus device, and I really wanted it. Still do, if they ever make one.

  • orangestrat

God yes. THe nexus 4 is the only good product LG has ever made, imagine if a competent company had that same boost. I was dreaming about a sony Nexus for years.

    • orangestrat

Whoever downvoted me, what product has LG as a whole made that wasn’t a horrible mistake?

      • gmaninvan

I do agree but you should lump in the Optimus G too with the Nexus 4. That is basically the same device as the Nexus 4 and is also a really nice device.

  • golfpedaler

Having had everything from the original G1 to now the Note 2…I think it would pretty cool to see what they could develop in a pure Android experience…+1

    • gmaninvan

Especially considering they stay pretty close to stock even in their own skins. It wouldn’t be a stretch for them.

  • MC_Android

I’d like a Sony Nexus device, but I think that the role of the Nexus line is to promote Android and also support OEM manufacturers. I think HTC the manufacturer Google should have chosen instead of LG for the Nexus 4

  • kinkate18nic

Sony is an innovative company that has given many quality products to consumers …will love to see a Nexus from them

  • jerrbomb

There are many companies like Sony and HTC that google shouldve gone with.. Picking Samy two years in a row probably gave the other OEMs the drive to have samys spot.. LG finally stepped up to the plate and showed the world that it was tired of making stupid mistakes.. And Sony is investing in a formula that will give Google a reason to choose them. I think its very possible to have this done.. A Sony and Google partner ship would blow the whole Moto X phone idea out of the water… For now.. Lol

Never actually held a Sony smartphone, but I have never been intrigued by the looks of their phones. Supposedly they are now focusing on high end phones so maybe my opinion on this will change. Their phones always have extremely squared off corners as well. I find that visually unpleasing.

    • gmaninvan

I see what you are saying but a Sony Nexus wouldn’t have those squared corners. The whole nexus look through three generations now has had the same rounded corners through three different OEM’s.

  • gmaninvan

Wow! I am even more interested in the idea of a Sony Nexus after this.

Sony is on the right track with their hardware. I would still call Asus my favorite android OEM but they are getting close to changing that for me.

  • gavinb

Yes, I would definitely be interested in a Sony Nexus. The new designs coming from Sony look really promising.

  • pliu.2014

I want another HTC nexus. I like thier build quality but a sony one would boost sony’s reputation.

  • jonstle

I would go for one. Sony has the capability to make great devices as they are proving with their new phones. It is good to see them focusing their efforts on the high end market.

  • Slith

I’d love a Sony Nexus. The phones at CES were some great hardware.

  • bear831

The only thing that would give me pause is the size of the device and availability. I would be fine giving up some screen resolution for a smaller width to the device.

  • digvijaya07

I will Surely Like to see Sony Nexus :D
    This would be Best :)

I would pick the sony over the samsung, If you put aside the software issues, sony’s phones have exceptionally good hardware. I tried both the sony xperia ion and the samsung s3. Samsung has none of the software issues sony has. However the ion kicks samsung’s ass in terms of reception. I get 2-3 bars in my house, but full signal strength with sony. No doubts about it. Sony is #1 when it comes to receiver. Up there with nokia, and blackberry.

And a sony nexus phone would be the best phone ever, because google would be taking care of the software while sony just focuses on making the hardware “unbeatable”. It would beat the apple iphone hands down.
