Xoom 4.1.1 update rolling out (instructions to force update)

Posted Jul 28, 2012 at 12:46 pm in Threads > News

Just got my update to Jelly Bean on my Xoom tablet. Thought I’d pass on the good news. If you haven’t got it yet you can force the update by going to settings, apps, then select all at the top and scroll down to Google services framework. Stop The service(force stop), then clear data. Go to about tablet and then check for updates. The day should say something about last time checked was in 1969. Hit check for updates. I had to do it a couple of times before I got the update.

Tip – power and volume down at the same time will take a screen shot.

Since this is a discussion. What is your favorite Android tip?

Mine updated Friday…at first there was a lot of lag, but it seems to have smoothed out. My Galaxy Nexus updated last week…Jellybean is good stuff…

It really is good stuff. I found That typing is a lot more natural and doesn’t have that “lag” to it. So glad I went with the Xoom. Google reference devices/Nexii for the win.

I’m also digging the font change on the clock.

I have a Xoom with a android 4.1.1. Screenshot tip does not work. Do you have to hold it down longer than an instant? Is there a particular sequence for pressing the buttons?

Screen shot does work on xoom with jellybean. You have to hold the buttons for a second. What’s cool is it will then show in the tray notification and you can then share the screenshot immediately to your printer application
