Your installed apps in your And Me profile

Hey guys, we’re getting started on a feature that will allow you to show your recently installed apps in your Android and Me profile. I wanted to make a thread about it first to give you hardcore users a chance to get a little head start.

We’ll be doing this with the assistance of AppAware, a ridiculously awesome app that sits on your device and monitors what you’re installing, updating, and removing. They’ve also got a pretty nifty social network built around all of it, and the team has been awesome enough to invite us into their ecosystem.

If you want to play along when we’re ready, make sure you’ve got AppAware installed and running:

I had no idea AppAware had 3rd party integration. The one thing that changed with App Aware that I didnt care much for, is widening the area of seach for the “Nearby” page. I loved seeing all these girls who would download “Ashley Maddison” and then “Is I preg net” back to back :p

The devs are pretty awesome. If you request a new feature and they like it, they can add it pretty fast.

And have you seen the new desktop site?

  • jsweetser2

the desktop site took me for a loop. I had downloaded a bunch of apps when going through Samurai vs Zombies, and one of the apps was Eharmony. My girlfriend called me a few days later and said, “You downloaded EHARMONY????!!” ugh. i couldn’t figure out how the hell she knew, until she later told me she had googled my name, and sure enough, the second result was Appaware profile, with all my activity.

I quickly changed it to private. I wish i had known the option for privacy wasn’t just the app itself and users that had it installed, but the web too.

Hah funny story. Nothing you do online is private anymore. But yes, you can hide individual apps in AppAware so they do not display on your profile. It could use an update to the way it’s all handled though.

I actually looked through my profile online for the first time and it was pretty damn cool, like a weird window into my phone and how I use it. They’ve got a giant wall of all your installed apps, but beyond an icon they’ve got a bunch of screens and featured images. It was rad.

Hey guys, this is testing now! If you’re interested in helping me out, go to /edit and hit the ‘Connect with AppAware’ button at the bottom. Then roll over to your user profile page and find the ‘Apps’ tab up top. Enjoy!

I did this yesterday. It connected and populated. Not sure what else there is to do with it from there, though.

Maybe you should give freebies to somebody who has done this by the end of today? or even better, for people who did this yesterday?! ;-)

Contest is coming after testing. Also you get 30 points when linking. (Or lose 30 when breaking).

Added, thanks to this app I’ve downloaded and tried out so many apps, and saw some really cute chicks, then found out that they’re pregnant through their app download.

Amazing app! Can’t wait to try out the new feature ;)
