I agree that visio is a great company that is USA based and The Verge did a great write up on them once but customer service not returning calls is a straight up fail and they deserve the bad press. I'm in the IT field and was a field tech for three years. The easiest way to loose a customer for good (besides screwing up on the job really bad) was to simply not return their calls. If a company doesn't have process and procedure for handling simple things like making sure a return call is made, they have bigger issues.
I'm not saying I won't buy their products, its just that it's inexcusable to do what they did and finally fix it once they got smeared online. Sadly, this just shows that an american company really isn't all that better than any other company. Even apple has been in hot water for issues like working conditions in the factories that make their iSheep products.
Yeah I had to hack it onto my Verizon gnex but I work at MasterCard so I use Google wallet almost daily down in the cafeteria and on soda machines. This is a huge update!
While jellybean would be awesome, part of me hopes android 4.1 is still ics because it means cm9 will be updated within a couple of days vs having to wait for cm10 to release :)
Matias Duarte said at the ICS announcement that Google set it as their goal to define how people talk about Android.
They revealed 3 design principles that would guide every choice they made in designing Android.
Those three principles where:
Easy (Simplifies my life)
Makes me feel powerful (makes me awesome)
Matias goes on to say that ICS is only the first step.
ICS just won an award for best UI design this week. I would say that falls under "Android is Enchanting"
I feel the next version is going to go after "Android is Easy. (Simplifies my life)" with powerful tools like Assistant (Majel) and probably more control within Android. No new groundwork, just ways to simplify what we already have.
I believe Google is working on a very powerful Assistant that hopefully is released in 4.1 shortly after I/O.
They have cracked jokes about Siri and how it's more comic relief, like C3PO in Star Wars, yet Assistant will be more like "computer" in Star Trek.
My wish list is that Google will release an Assistant who interacts with me more than I interact with it.
Assistant: "Sir, based on traffic conditions, I suggest you leave in the next ten minutes if you want to be on time for your 5 o'clock dinner appointment with your wife downtown."
me: "I need to finish something up at the office, text her and let her know I'll be 10 minutes late."
Assistant: "very well sir."
lol that would be awesome!

I've seen setups where you program smart tags. Like one at work that you scan when you get there and it changes all your settings to "work mode" and then scan the tag again when leaving work and it sets everything back.
I personally use google wallet almost every day but that's also be cause I work at Mastercard so all vending machines and the cafe have paypass.
I also use it at best buy.
I've really been enjoying it but nfc payments need to catch on before it becomes really useful.

there's only one explanation for the lack of updates: Zombie Apocalypse!
I demand it because it tends to always have the happiest customers! :)
I might as well buy my google branded underwear as well...
What doesn't google have a hand in these days?
Scary but I love it at the same time!

If this is true? Why are they just now bringing it up? Something smells fishy...
That worked great! Thanks!
Only issue i have now is how slow wallet is!!! It takes forever to change screens/pages in that app!
This wasn't so with my Evo 4G. if I left 4G on even while connected to WIFI, it would drain the battery in no time!
nice way to hijack my post to get your comment up top :-P
I leave lte on and I get all day battery. granted I'm connected to wifi at work and at home but still, the radio is on and I lightly use the phone all day long.
can't wait! I love my OG transformer!
They need something that stands out. all their flagship phones look like an evo or the dinc from 2010.
So if HTC would have been chosen then the nexus name would have become synonymous with HTC? that would have been 2 HTC nexii vs 1 Samsung nexus.
I understand what you're saying though with Samsung making two nexii in a row but Samsung is pushing the bar a bit more than HTC at this time and Google went with the best.
I helped +1 that number with the purchase of my Galaxy Nexus :)
Google is going about a unified look and feel to Android the right way! Nail down the main things for devs to work with like what this article covers.
What I would like to see is the phone market become more like honeycomb tablets. There are themes added my OEMs but the look and feel is still mostly honeycomb. This needs to happen with ICS phones!
why ASUS!? why!?
