The camera was far from perfect. It wasn't terrible but there are plenty of other phones that take much better pictures. And honestly it was one of their weakest areas. It could get you by but when you experience better you don't wanna go back or just settle. It lacked detail and sharpness. Yea, performed well in low light, but how many people wanna take all of their pictures in the dark or bad lighting? It's good to have that feature and all phones should improve in that area, but that doesn't make up for the camera overall. It was and still is a great phone, but no phone is perfect. Be honest.
Are they overrated? Yes. But you will not get the same results as today's cameras even if supported with the same tech. It's the newly tech that support the increased MP. It's not like it's an issue to have more MP. The quality is improving as they get bigger and more advanced tech are applied to it to increase the quality.
Please no ignorant comments thinking this will impact battery life. It's a cover. It will only show when you power it on like any other case that allows info to be shown like the Galaxy phones. This is just another way and it looks pretty sweet. I hope there are more surprises HTC can show us that we don't know of the phone itself come March 25.
That's exactly what manufactures should have been doing. Launching it two no more then three weeks after announcement.
Any other way is stupid in my opinion. Then they prolong it even more because they have exclusives.
One solid phone with obsessive detail in the build and software, sane launch and release on all carriers, no exclusive colors, and a week or two later after announcement. Which should allow pre-order to happen in the same week as the announcement or the week before consumer release.
We all know it could probably use a better design, but other then that what is the real complaint about when it comes to features and specs? I really think people confuse specs with every other aspect of the phone nowadays. Not realizing every other phone that comes out to compete in the same year all if not most have the same level of specs. Different build, but that build doesn't exactly guide what you do with the phone. No other phone besides the Find 7 will have a 2K display. Is that really needed? Not at all. I would love it, but I can definitely deal without it. It has a much better camera. If you only see it as a 3mp bump, then you know nothing pass numbers. It's the quality and features that improve it. Not just 3 extra mega pixels. We all can count. I hear people complaining about the processor. It's the new 801. 800 vs 801 at the same speed really isn't the same in performance. It's more then numbers. The software cosmetics might not please you but it's better then what they had before. Do we need a heart monitor? I might not, but what other phone has one built in? It's the start of something that might get better in time and do much more.
I really wanna know what people were wanting or expecting from Samsung. In a realistic way. I mean this phone doesn't wow me, but I really do think people are being unrealistic.
To be honest that kid didn't really show us anything new besides a couple camera options. The physical part of the phone looked great, but I'm sure HTC has some surprises software wise and features for us.
Brilliant design as always. I think people who were complaining about it being more rounded then the current one will welcome this with open hands and or get over it pretty quickly. I still wanna see the other two on video or live come March 25 to decide which color I would personally choose. Right now the gun metal is looking pretty mean.
I'm really curious to see what this secondary camera is all about and the overall camera on the device. It looks pretty smooth panning through home pages. I would love to see final software and see if there are any noticeable cosmetic changes compared to today's KitKat update like the S5 has compared to previous KitKat updates.
It sounds really good. That's what companies need to be doing. Don't race to get it done first and day we have one to. Do it right and you standout no matter if you did it first or not. Honestly, obsessive detail is needed from the hardware to the software, but keeping it simple all at the same time. A pleasurable experience. A fun experience. Quality.
If they do another exclusive over a single color or device even, then they have failed for a solid early launch again.
It doesn't look like from the press images.
I kind of wish the new look of UX would have been what was pushed out for current Samsung devices.
Being on or off WiFi has nothing to do with receiving it. It's just recommended to use when downloading a large file or anything really. It was pushed OTA. So a signal period would have got it.
I would like to see a bigger screen. 5" max. 1080 at least. A quality FHD screen at least.
A much better camera. The camera was complete garbage on the current one.
A bigger battery.
And hopefully some more new unique features software wise.
Everything else can stay the same as far as the custom colors and what not. No exclusives this time around. One launch and across the board.
I made me chuckle. One thing they still have wrong in my opinion is that they target or seem to target towards one group instead of the general or overall crowd. They focus on this "Hip-Hop" sound rather then just great sound. I think they should have simple but meaningful commercials whenever the phone drops for consumers to focus on sound and quality in a way the average consumer can comprehend. Kind of like how Apple does and some Samsung commercials do. It's usually dramatic, but on point. Show the class of the build, sound, and whatever else it can do.
Anyways, I hope it has a full featured camera. Much higher pixel count and the hardware to support the pixel count for quality pictures. I know the build will be there. I'll get over the thick bezel. I hope the software has useful features and not so much of use our version of this and that.
They never can seem to make enough of their own processors.
The specs are nice. It's a healthy upgrade. It's the design of the phone. That alone molds deeply with the bells and whistles it has to offer. They didn't execute in that area..again..and again.
To be honest, HTC only needs to have some sweet tech with their camera, battery, and software to top this. The design alone has a really big impact.
Spec wise the S5 is nice. If you expected more spec wise, then you're unrealistic and need to understand tech in general is not there yet for your mission impossible fantasies.
However, the overall design is silly. They slapped a new back on there with color and called it new. I might be able to get on Amazon or eBay and find a back cover for my Noe 3 or a S4 and call it the S5. Not ever successor needs to be a complete makeover, but they need to find one iconic design of their own and stick with it. Just minor refinements as time goes on. Like the HTC One will pretty much look the same with a few refinements. Same with the iPhone. It has always looked the same for the most part, but a few minor refinements and is still considered one of the most attractive devices. I agree.
Software, I never like the overall design of Touchwiz. You can't flatten the overall look and call it a day. It still needs an overhaul in my opinion. Colors are everywhere and still looks the same pretty much. They did very little in changing the software design that I think current Note and Galaxy phones should have got that as the update.
I do like the features of this phone. They didn't bring over the top features. They actually did keep it simple. I do like to run and workout, but I only add music to my workouts. I don't really care for the fitness part of tech. But it's not bad. Fingerprint scanner is kind of cool. The camera is really nice. I've always wanted HDR while recording video. The screen may not be 2K but it isn't ready yet. What phone will have it? I don't care about that.
I really just wanted an iconic design that they could win with and a better look for their skin. If they would have at least had a sweet design, they could help tolerate Touchwiz this time around.
I hope both have OIS.
I really think they shouldn't launch it a month later.
