More Google play edition devices showing up!
I can do that right now on my stock, unrooted Note 3. The key phrase is just "hi galaxy" rather than "ok google now" but it uses the same low-power processor tech that the Moto X uses.
I just replaced Samsung's s-voice with google voice search using Tasker and voila! Google it. It's actually one of my favorite features on this phone.
Yes!! Can't wait til Google Voice rolls into Hangouts as well.
It does feel gimmicky but I think it has potential if they open it up for customization enough. It would be nice to see things like multi-tasking (swipe left/ right to switch between running apps) or even some Tasker integration. Maybe play/pause/fwd/back/mute using different fingers.
Probably not gonna happen but it's still nice to see that they're trying something new.
Nice try, HTC.
Man, I'm rooting for HTC but if they're planning on going head to head with the Note 3 this is not gonna help them.
Very tempting to make the switch from Sprint to TMO and from HTC to Samsung right now... Just waiting to see what the HTC One Max will look like. Either way I think it's bye bye Sprint.
So I guess it's pretty safe to say that there is no stylus in this thing huh? Bummer...
I think the consensus is that the HTC One is one of the best phones out there (if not *the* best phone). I'm really hoping it'll help HTC to bounce back a little.

That dark square on the back just looks jarring... I'm not sure I'd even use a fingerprint scanner unless it was somehow a much better implementation than what others have done in the past.
I might be joining you soon! I keep waiting for things to improve on Sprint (mostly network speeds) but it never does. T-Mobile is looking mighty fine.
Even if it doesn't have a stylus, the front facing speakers seem pretty compelling to me. That being said, it would be extra awesome if it had a stylus along with at least a good multi-window implementation.
Very curious to see how this will compare to the Note 3. The coming months should be exciting!
Now if only they'd release source codes this quick for their other devices...
I really hope so. If sprint doesn't get the One Max it might be time for a move.
One of the most frustrating experiences in life is trying to watch a youtube video with low-volume speakers on the back of the device. I think specs are close enough that this feature alone tips the scales toward the HTC for me.
Both the One Max and the Note 3 are going to be awesome phones. Love the choice you get with Android!
I'm also hoping they'll come in "Google editions" so the rooted folks out there get even more choice and development.
Good point. I wonder if this will make it to CDMA variants. Really impressive though!
So does that mean that if you're on an older plan they CAN get rid of your unlimited data?
Way to go tmo! Shake things up!
