500 RSS Subscribers Contest. Win A Free G1 And More.

Without readers, this site is nothing.  Even though we are an infant learning to walk, you people continue to return and amaze me.  Thank you to everyone who has sent feedback, left a comment, and encouraged us to step up our game.  We will continue to expand the scope and quality of our content.

Today, we are proud to announce we have surpassed 500 RSS readers.  Why should you care?  Because we are giving away FREE stuff, that’s why.  This time around, we have a two part contest.  The first part is for non-G1 owners and the other half is for those lucky enough to have a G1.  Once again, we are limiting this contest to US residents due to shipping charges(but we have something for the international readers coming up…).

Free T-Mobile G1

For Part 1 of this contest I’m going to be very blunt:  Convince us why we need to give you a free T-Mobile G1.  You can use whatever means necessary to persuade us.  Grab our attention by writing us a love letter, posting a video on YouTube, creating some Android art, or whatever floats your boat.  We will select one winner and buy you a G1.  Even though we are paying for your G1, you are still responsible for the T-Mobile contract.  If you do not want to sign up for T-Mobile, then do not apply.  The contest will run for one week and we will announce the winner on Friday, April 3rd.

Free Body Glove Case and Window Mount – 2x

Part 2 of the contest works similar to our last RSS promotion.  All you have to do is spread the word about Android and Me.  I’ll accept basically anything, as long as you post the link in a comment on this page.  I was nice last time because many of you did not follow the rules.  This time I’m serious though; you must post the link in a comment or you will not be eligible.  At the end of 1 week, we will randomly draw two names for our winners.  Each person will get a Body Glove case and a Window Mount.  Winners will be announced same day as the G1 winner.

As I have said several times, we will continue to give away free Android gear each time we hit a milestone.  If you have not subscribed to the feed yet, I suggest you do.  There are so many projects we have in the works that I know you will enjoy.  Be on the lookout for our Android Bounty to poke his head out again.  Enjoy.500rss

    Cool contest guys,

We have posted contest on our Blog:

  • Karolis Pocius

This would be an amazing blog is you stopped featuring that emo kid (or teach him how to present stuff seriously) and started publishing full RSS feeds. Having to leave your reader to read full article is lame.

    • Taylor Wimberly

Karolis, I’m so sorry you were forced to visit our site. We are working on a new mobile version that will make it easier for you to view on your G1.

  • Jake

You should hit me up with a G1 because I have so many app ideas, and yet no hardware (or a friend with hardware) to test/deploy/QA on.

    Great contest guys, kudos.

I should get the G1 because I don’t have a job and an amazing phone like that would keep me connected to the job hunt at all times.

Also, when I’m not job hunting I’m working on Android aps to keep my programming skills sharp (btw, the Android SDK is crazy fun to work with). Problem is I don’t have anything to test my programs on but the emulated phone provided with the sdk. My roommate won’t even let me install the sdk on his touch-screen laptop so I can pretend I’m working with a real phone :(

The fact that I’m subscribed to your feed when I don’t own the phone shows how much I’ve been obsessed with the G1 for the past few months. I can’t wait until I can afford one. Guys, please make my dreams come true and give me a G1

  • bookmunkie

I should also mention that I’m the most directionally challenged person you’ll ever meet. Seriously. I get lost putting on a hoodie. I really, really, reeeeeally need a phone with GPS

Great site guys. i especially like the video reviews. its alot easier to decide on a product if you can see it in action, other than just a few stock photos. I have a androidandme t-shirt i wear all the time. the reason i think i should get a new G1 is because i want to be twice as awesome as i already am!. i already have a G1, but with 2, i could text twice as much, and also show it off to 2 diff ladies at the same time! i could leave on in the car and one at home so my parents can always get ahold of me! imagine all the possibilities!!!!! so ill email you with my address so you can get that out asap! holla! In all honesty. great contest and this cool way to recieve a pretty cool prize. Congrats to who ever wins

    Shouldn’t it be Android-and-i?

My suggestion is an aggressive marketing campaign that uses a character named Andi…. as in Andriod Andi (androidand i). Register the domain name and create the site featuring a sexy, provocative, brainy female type to promote the android and me site. Much like a recent good looking, sophisticated vice-presidential candidate it will apeal to men and women alike….or just create one on your site under a different name and save domain registration fees!

ps. I will need the G1 to visit this new site…so enter me in the free G1 contest…..XXXOOO

My angel, my, my very self — only a few words today and at that with your keyboard– not till tomorrow will my G1 be definitely determined upon — what a useless waste of time. Why this deep sorrow where necessity speaks — can our love endure except through sacrifices — except through not demanding everything — can you change it that you are not wholly mine, I not wholly thine?

Oh, God! look out into the beauties of nature and comfort yourself with that which must be — love demands everything and that very justly — that it is with me so far as you are concerned, and you with
me and the G1. If we were wholly united you with the G1, I would feel the pain of it as little as I!

Now a quick change to things internal from things external. We shall surely see each other; moreover, I cannot communicate to you the observations I have made during the last few days touching my own life — if our hearts were always close together I would make none of the kind. My heart is full of many things to say to you – G1! — there are moments when I feel that speech is nothing after all — cheer up — remain my true, only treasure, G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1 G1.

LOve your site, I,ll look every day for news. I am so impressed by the Android G1 handset, and I would love to be blessed with the free G1 so I can give my wife my cell phone. I beleive that Android phones will be the best phone standard in a short while and I’m just hoping I can win it. Thanks!!

I am going for bribery… Sort me out a G1 and i will make sure it and your site gets featured/mentioned in a video and on an adult themed site with a very focused demographic. It will then become a prop and used for on demos in a video podcast being baked as i type… then passed on to my Fiance to replace her antique Sony Ericsson.

Plus of course, i gave a nice fat plug and link…

  • jay

i should get the g1 because my girls bday is coming up friday and i have no job to get her anything and she has a sidekick lx and a crappy verizon phone. she has no job either and she graduates in june. shes always talking about how she wants to play around with all the apps and shell never stop looking at her friends g1

  • Jenna

I should win the G1 because I just recently became unemployed, I never insured my current phone and now its acting funny after 2 1/2 years of being used. I wish I could afford another phone but as of right now i’m stuck with a phone that barely stays together, i’m desperate. Plus my bf has a G1 and i’m jealous!

  • S4key

    Awesome Promotion guys!

  • Phill

Okay, first I’d like to go for why I should win a G1, though I’d also like to post for the other portion too (you’ll see why soon :P).

Hey! I have t-mobile. But guess what? I don’t have a g1 :(. My mom does. She absolutely loves it! And so do I. In fact, thats why I visit here religiously, to learn more about her phone. I’m a student, so I can’t afford to buy a g1, but if I got it, I’d do everything in my power to use it to its fullest potential. My mom has already talked about just making me pay for the data(which is possible) if I ever got one. But now why I should have it –. As I said before, I’m a student. That means I’m basically in poverty. I’m going to college very soon, and right now I have a razr. I’m going to college far away, and my razr is basically for show. I can’t text or talk on it, let alone download apps! I have no money left in my bank account because I loaned it family so that they could keep the house. They never paid me back. I’m trying to get a job, but its impossible in this climate! And even when I get one, every penny (besides bills) has to go towards tuition, because although I’m top of my class and poor, I can’t get scholarships because I live in a rich area around rich kids (that ALL have iphones… I’m basically the only one that doesn’t want an iphone in my school). I know, sob story. But thats my every day life. I have a horrible razr, horrible conditions, and horrible world to look forward to. A g1 would be a bright and sunny addition to that bleak outlook, especially since I’ve already mastered it. One of my friends from another school has a g1, and he lets me tinker with it, as well as my mom, who only uses it for work. Also, my moms friend is constantly badgering me to get her the nicest apps and all that jazz to spruce up her g1, so I’m not new to this.

Oh, and I have an undying love for google. Even without a g1, I use only gmail and have google desktop and google talk and google you name it, I use it. Thats the biggest turn on of the g1 for me, to know I could be part of something that will be huge in the future. I have faith in the g1 because I have faith in google.

If I win, I’d be more than happy to even help at the site, giving heads up and app reviews, and I’ve been trying to learn how to code, so if I ever get the hang, even helping make apps! If I can use it the same way I use my moms friend’s g1, I’ll go through basically all the apps! And I’m very oppinionated so I’ll definitely have something to review!

P.s. sorry if its really long… I like to write.

  • Joey

I would love this phone! Every time I turn around, I’m telling my aunt “I want the g1!!!!” lol. Now I won’t give all these reasons/excuses why I think that I should get this over all the other ‘applicants’, because hey…I don’t believe I deserve this anymore than anyone else, but if you would be so generous as to select me for the phone, I would be forever appreciative. Winning this phone would be a great joy, but if you unfortunately decide not to pick me, then congratulations to the person chosen! =)

I’ll let my entry speak for itself:

  • r1k0

Too bad I’m not an US resident, I could have really used the G1 for my application development work – they don’t sell any in Romania yet :).

  • Richard

I would really love and appreciate the opportunity to join your team with the android and me labs. I’ve already developed for a few handheld consoles, working on doing some mostly experimental projects on the iphone, and with my service being T-mobile, replacing the iphone with the G1 would be the next logical step. Looking at the progress with the torrent application, especially how advanced it is and now portable Quake! Quake is a whole other ball game, imagine being able to get multiplayer games as advanced as that over 3G. Unbelieveable.

I might be a great asset to your team, so why not just help me help you become an even better group by sending me the G1?

Thanks for you time, and I hope to hear from you soon!

  • Dan Johnson

If I had a G1 this app would be on Android….

Many other MIDI and music related apps are in the development queue too. Think collaborative music development via mobile interfaces…. I also design embedded Java hardware using Imsys and aJile Java processors. Hmm… that could lead to something interesting too!

The Android simulator is nice but there’s nothing like the feeling of fully loaded hardware!….

I just love and want the g1 phone and have been signing up for every contest I see with no luck of course since I’m writing you but please be merciful and pray to GOD and he will give you the person to give the free phone to. (me of course)

  • Kevin Leacock

the reason i should get the g1 is because my mother spent her hard earn money to get me a g1 and i lost it a week after, which hurts me the most because, she spent money she didnt really have to get me what i wanted. the way it got lost is i was on the train on my way to a job interview and on my way back it must have fell out of my sweater pocket, Damn.

  • Down8
  • Gammax
