BlueAnt intros rugged bluetooth headset and Android app

Phones aren’t the only thing getting announced at CTIA. BlueAnt just revealed the T1 rugged bluetooth headset along with a new Android application.

The T1 features Wind Armour Technology which can deliver clear audio in wind speeds up to 22 mph. Protecting the T1 is a new patent-pending soft-touch silicon cover which helps the headset withstand bumps, dust, and moisture. Look for the BlueAnt T1 to be commercially available starting May for $79.99.

BlueAnt also unveiled their new Android application which reads text messages aloud directly into your headset. The app will work with the company’s high end Q1 headset and is expected to be available April 1. The app requires Android 2.0 so keep that in mind if you are considering purchasing the Q1.

Update: Android Central uploaded a quick hands on video of the Android app.

I love Blue Ant headsets for their call quality. I LOATH them for their build quality. I take care of my equipment and all three sets have crumbled.
