Live from Google I/O 2010

This is the moment you have all been waiting for. Google I/O is finally here and the first keynote is just hours away. We are live at Moscone West in San Francisco and ready to bring you the inside scoop on this week’s biggest stories.

First up is the day 1 keynote. Google is streaming the entire thing via YouTube, so be sure to tune in and watch live.

Keynotes are available at

Here is the schedule for the keynotes at I/O 2010:

  • Day 1 Keynote: Wednesday, May 19, 9:00 -10:30am PT
  • Day 2 Keynote: Thursday, May 20, 8:30-10:00am PT

After the keynote is over, we will head to the press briefing room so we can ask questions on whatever is revealed. If you have your own questions about the keynote, just leave a comment and we will scan over them before the press briefing.

We will also be sending live updates to our Flickr, Twitter, and YouTube account. Follow these is you want to check out what’s going on behind the scenes before we update the main site.

I’ll go ahead and leave the first question.

I would like to propose a direct question:

Why does it seem, that the android issue list under

seem to get no attention at all? There are several important issues not being addressed since more than half a year. This includes the top ranked cisco-vpn native support issue.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. Will there be support for flac and alac?
2.Wll you a update the music player so that it can automatically download the album covers from lastfm? and also a new look is much wanted
3.Would you provide software/hardware aceleration for videos in hd?

Can we have a android desktop program suite like Itunes, to sync pictures, music, contacts, sms & apps, with a built in access to the apps store.

    • http://Website multi

But not required. That’s my biggest problem with itunes, you can’t have any of their products without it.

Paul: I don’t understand why you would want direct access to the App store ? But I take it you are talking about the marketplace? But even then the marketplace doesn’t sell music or anything? Check out doubletwist ….

Will any of the phones that have recently been updated to 2.1 be seeing an 2.2 update in the future or any other phones that currently come with 2.1 besides the N1, Driod, (most-likely) EVO?

you guys should ask them if, once the n1 comes to tmobile stores, if people who have purchaced the n1 through google phone store will now have the option to performe advanced exchanges through the carrier instead of having to put a $529 advance holding sum to have htc send you out a phone first.

Anyone know if we can stream this to phone? cant get it to work …if you can how…thanks

  • Nickedynick

VP8 is being included in Flash – which means Android will get native support! :D

Will there be any change in 2.2 as to how bluetooth interacts with voice dialing? Presently one cannot initiate a phone call via voice command by hitting the headset action button – one has to do it by handling the phone.

Can you please raise why Google in Australia is preventing Australian Android App Authors from selling their apps in the Marketplace? Until this (silly) restriction is removed it is actively preventing authors from wanting to release Android Apps..

Been several threads on this on the Australian Whirlpool Site and we would all like to understand Why Google has this policy in place..

Howdy! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and say I genuinely enjoy reading through your posts. Can you suggest any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same subjects? Thanks!

At this time it seems like Drupal is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
