Any idea why they left off the front facing camera? Since that is one of the new features of the iPhone 4 you think that others carriers would be keen to match those features. Maybe one of the other carriers will get the Galaxy S with front facing camera.

    • jamboy5590

O u dont know well T-mobile like to piss off there customers by making them wait so long for a 1Gz phone then when they final give it to you, they like to take all the good stuff away like flash, front camera and there super +network and then they say here take Avatar and The Sims 3 instead.

  • http://Website Dave_Okc

So the design changed a little, but there is no front facing camera on this model. I am glad we are finally getting a nice phone for T-Mobile but a little shocked that they still want $199 for a version of the phone with less hardware then others are getting.

  • http://Website james

Yeah, the press release says all the features of the galaxy s but says nothing about the front facing camera. i don’t remember seeing one on the ATT captivate or the Sprint galaxy s pro. Maybe they took it off the USA version which really sucks. i wonder if the international version will work in the US

    • http://Website Dave_Okc

There is an unboxing that Noah from Phonedog did and he had mentioned that his international version that Samsung had sent him did in fact work with T-mobile 3g.

    • jamboy5590

the pro has one and it has a flash to

      • http://Website james

i did read one time that each carrier was going to have a different variations of the phone, i wish T-Mobile would of came out ahead. Maybe, i should go to Sprint and get their phone. Since they are the only one missing a superphone. At least put a flash on the phone.

  • http://Website Franklin

What the hell did tmo do this for….this makes no f**king sense….Is it me that see this or what….what did tmo actually accomplish with this phone, to me, nothing but heartbreak to their loyalest customers like me….who has being with them all this years….but come on enough is enough….when are they going to learn….i knew this was coming but i was hoping that tmo will prove the rumors wrong..and they have forced me to leave cos this is sad…would the world have ended if tmo have left the galaxy s the way Samsung made it….Hell no! All what tmo were suppose to do was to add flash to the phone and this phone would have been a really vibrant phone….but tmo been the way they are, made a good phone into just a phone….why..why tmo? Sprint on the other hand turned the galaxy s into an epic phone….great job sprint. i dont know what to say or do now…cos tmo keeps on disappointing me. i’ll just switch to an even more plus plan and pay $200 ETF and just move to sprint…thanks tmo, you just lost a loyal customer.

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

So you are willing to pay a $200 fine to leave T-Mobile over the lack of camera flash?

      • http://Website Franklin

I could have care less about the flash cos it doesn’t come with the original Samsung galaxy s, but for tmo to change the phone….does what am really mad about….cos it makes no sense…

        • http://Website james

i wonder if t-mobile does this to cut costs, their plans are cheaper than the rest. Keeping the phone how it was cost too much for them and would have charge more for it. Most of their phones are sub-par of their counterparts. Maybe that is the trade-off; want cheaper plans get sub-par phones.

          • http://Website JaylanPHNX

Another consideration, as far as cost goes, is that T-Mobile is the only carrier to offer something like their EvenMorePlus plans, where you pay full price for the phone, but get a cheaper, no-contract plan. Perhaps they are trying to keep things reasonable for their EM+ customers. Which I appreciate, being one of them.

    • http://Website sly

Me too. boy u read my mind. i am so done with tmobile and the kiddy phones we continue to get! the only phone we got with a front face cam is the Nokia E71. I like it, but i like Android best. F*** Tmobile, i am going to Sprint

  • http://Website mauricio

    Another fail..

    Here’s the perfect phone.

    1. Made by HTC
    2. 1ghz processor
    3. 4.3 screen
    4. 8 or more Mega pixel camera with flash
    5. Front facing camera
    6. Running STOCK Android

    That’s all were asking for.
I’m a Tmobile Rep and it’s kind of hard comparing our android lineup to others with their Evos, incredible, and now Droid X..

    • http://Website Franklin

      thanx man…..

      • http://Website Mauricio

No problem man..I have a Nexus and I have yet to find a phone with tmobile worth buying.

        • http://Website Dave_Okc

I wish they sold the Nexus one straight though T-mobile. I’d buy that in a heartbeat.

    • http://Website mauricio

      7. HDMI output! (:

      • http://Website Franklin

and thats all we asking for….how hard it is for tmo to do this….

      • http://Website Franklin

if the international version of the galaxy s will work on tmobile USA 3g network…i think its best to get that one…..instead of this insult…!

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

I don’t think you are getting stock Android from anyone but Google from here on out. Get the Nexus One if you want always want the latest Android firmware.

      • http://Website Franklin

Yea….another BS thing Google did with N1…selling it only online instead of tmo stores…..that phone had and still have potential….i was going to get that phone but i dont know who came up with that idea….the N1 would have sold more but Google drop the ball on that one

      • http://Website mauricio

I know that’s what saddens me…I already have a nexus for about 6 months running froyo (:

        • http://Website Franklin

i believe the N1 would be the best selling phone on tmo…..tell me why does tmo do that….today is a sad day….

    • http://Website Ryan

Except that HTC’s hardware blows. The construction of their devices is hands down the worst in the smart phone world, yet people still tend to worship them.

    • jamboy5590

make the screen super AMOLED with more pixels and the processor a duel 1.2Ghz

that my friend would be the perfect phone and i would pay anything for it

I really don’t know why this is so hard for t-mobile

  • http://Website Sam

Everyone is entitled to an opinion …blah blah blah.. It’s simple, buy it or don’t buy it,there is so much crying going on it’s ridiculous. T mobile users wanted something more powerful …this is it. And besides, after this comes out,6 months later something better will surface. Quit whining already!

    • jamboy5590

Yes the phone is powerful but compare it to all the other company’s super powered android phones then look when they came out. T mobile has taken this long to catch up to their competitors and their not even there yet. Why should we have to wait another half a year for a better phone to come out when other company’s already have then. The reason why people are WHINING is because they want T mobile to realize this and catch up to the game. Look at sprints galaxy it has a front camera it has a flash it has a keyboard why can’t T mobile do the same?

      • http://Website Franklin

right on…..i dont know why tmo cant do that…..am done with them, this was the last act….sprint i think you got yourself a new customer……!

        • http://Website SugaBooga

The minute Sprint says the Epic is available for preorder, I am all over it. My hubby is on Sprint and I’m gonna have him add me to his plan. Aug 18, my EFT goes down to $100. I’m anxious to pay that and get awat from Tmo’s “kiddie phones”.

      • http://Website RobH

        I agree totally!!

    • http://Website sly

U sound foolish man. If you aint a TMO customer then u wouldnt understand. These folk have gave us childish phone after childish phone. U talk about power, but it would be better to buy an HD2 and wait for an android patch that go with this p.o.s. samsung. I wont buy it and will await my contract to end so i can run like hell! been with this company since they were Powertel, but this is it!

  • http://Website Jon A

Really wish it had the FFC. The reason people are complaining about this is because other phones have it now, and more will follow. We all know this phone will be outdated in a few months, but if tmobile left the one big thing on there(FFC), then the Vibrant could actually last longer than expected, in terms of being outdated.

  • http://Website RobH

I just can’t figure out why even when we finally get a great phone like this on Tmobile…it has to be a little different from the other carriers and by different I mean missing better features.

Now no front facing camera…the pro has the nice keyboard…we won’t see that….always something.

  • http://Website disturbed1

Really a 2 gig sdcard it better have some good internal memory

    • http://Website JaylanPHNX

Were you not paying attention? It has 16Gb of internal memory. That is more than other versions will have.

  • http://Website Roy Morris

Yeah this is the final straw for me. I’m going to call up tmobile right now and cancel my contract. Sprint is actually cheaper than tmobile for unlimited everything by a large margin… I’m paying 180 for two G1s… 130 a month for a 4g network and unlimited everything = win

    • http://Website NUNYA

  • http://Website jm1999

Tmo has its new superphone on the way anyway. Its called project emerald. Look it up.

    • http://Website sly

believe that if u want man. if they do drop that duo core phone trust they will be the last carrier to do so. they always behind. how can u be the first to come out with android and then just get dominated by all other carriers. Sprint said they didn’t want android when it first dropped because it wasn’t good enuff for them. Look at the situation now. We getting our asses handed to us on T Mobile by all carriers including ATT. they have Android phones and an iphone

  • http://Website Jose C

I called T-Mobile and the rep. told me the phone does have a 1.3 MP front-facing camera…

  • http://Website Jett

I just want a G1 with a slimmer profile. I’m a big fan of touch screen but I need a physical keyboard to text on!

  • http://Website Ayocuz

Why is there so many tmob haters in here if you don’t like the phone no 1 is making you buy it. I’m with you taylor I got me a good ol sexii nexii with froyo frf 91 build and I couldn’t behappier. Until emerald materializes I’m good with a phone that’s seven months old and still in my opinion the best phone with the latest firmware. I had no problem cashing out five hundred thirty dollars at the google online store in fact I brought wifey one too. So take that you haters

  • http://Website nelson

come on people! whos care if t mobile dont have flash or facing camera i dont get why people complaning just for that i mean that so ridiculous and look at least t mobile have a powerful phone than all other phone maybe you guys who ever complaining about that should support t mobile dont whine about just little thing about flash and facing camera you guys should wake up and move on plus i am getting it soon so stop whinning about those thing!

    • http://Website Vibrant1
