First look at the HTC Vision

We have heard rumors of a high-end Android phone from HTC that sported a full QWERTY keyboard, and now we get our first look at a prototype device. Croatian site Njuskalo has a couple of leaked pics for a phone they are calling the HTC Vision.

The Vision is said to feature a 3.7 inch display paired with a 1 GHz processor and it’s currently running Android 2.1 with HTC’s Sense UI. One the front of the phone you will also find four capacitive touch buttons along with an optical trackpad.

Recent rumors claim T-Mobile was planning a high-end HTC phone with a QWERTY keyboard, which we have been referring to as Project Emerald. The specs of the HTC Vision and Project Emerald don’t exactly match up, so we are not sure where the device could end up at this point.

pleaseeee be t-mobile! I have a G1 and don’t get an upgrade for a while so this is perfect for my next phone! plus they have been slacking on giving us really nice high-end android phones in my opinion… I played w/ the evo and HUGE touchscreens are my new best friend and I’m used to having a keyboard there too.

It looks a lot like a Nexus One with a keyboard if you ask me. I just don’t want Sense UI on it. Stock Android FTW! And want happens to all the phones running Sense UI on them once Gingerbread is released? If its supposed to do away with skins does that mean that they won’t be updated past 2.2?

    Looks like Nexus Two 0__o

FAIL, looks like a nexus one with a keyboard!!

  • http://Website jorskie

Well this may be a 4 row keyboard but look at the surface area on the buttons. Looks amazing to me. Granted i think we have seen the last of the 5 rows with the tp2 and g1. No reason to go all out wuen you have thngs lile swype and what not.

physical keyboard?! quick, KILL IT WITH FIRE!

  • http://Website ObsceneJesster

    It’s a fake!!!!.

    1) Just look at the keyboard and tell me why there is 2 ALT keys when HTC clearly favors 1 FN key. Also where is the email key that has been on every single HTC keyboard ever developed.

    2) The lens flare would be confined to the screen its-self and would not break out. Go ahead and take a picture of your current phone and the lens flare will look nothing like that. You can however create the same lens flare effect by going into Photoshop and applying the Lens Flare Filter.

Last but certainly not least. Take a good look at the persons thumb and tell me if it looks like it’s in a normal position to you. The thumb and the shading not only say’s it’s Photoshoped, it screams it.

To the normal eye it looks alright because most of you are not focusing on the hand, your looking at the device. The second I glanced at his hand and saw that lens flare I knew it was a amateur Photoshop job. When you have worked with Photoshop for 14 years and 10 hours a day you tend to notice these things kind of easily.

Which one is the email key on my G1 or on the mytouch 3g slide?

What is odd about the thumb. My thumb looks like that.

  • http://Website Drancks

Ahaha. @ObsceneJester I totally see it, if you look carefully enough you’ll even noticed the proportions and the way his hand is shaped behind the phone would be pretty damn weird looking.

And that is totally a lens flare effect thing.

@plainbrad…My Thumb looks like that too. Whats your point? Regarding the keys on the G1 and the MyTouch Slide I have 2 thing’s. I think T-Mobile had a say in the design of the devices. Also, I should have said all the professional/business devices HTC made with a full keyboard has a mail key. (ex. Touch Pro 2 and S743 Black.). The MyTouch and G1 are teen/social phones.

Since you want to be a smart ass, go find me one HTC phone that doesn’t have a FN key on it’s querty.

@ObsceneJester…I understand that all your Photoshop trolling has likely rotted anything useful out of your brain, but surely you understand that, as a prototype, they may be trying out different things, right?
