Leaked T-Mobile roadmap reveals new Androids from HTC, LG, and Motorola

T-Mobile is gearing up to release the Samsung Vibrant and Motorola Charm, but a leaked roadmap indicates at least five more Android phones are headed to the carrier later this year.

First, it looks like the newly announced Motorola Charm will launch on July 21st, the same day as the Vibrant. Then in August it looks like we have the CLIQ, CLIQ XT, and myTouch 3G scheduled to receive their long awaited Android 2.x upgrades.

In September things get interesting with a new Android device named the HTC Vanguard. That will be followed by two Android devices from Motorola, the Jordan and Beyond, which are listed to drop on November 3rd.

Next we have the long rumored HTC Project Emerald to launch on November 5th, which could turn out to be the chapter of T-Mobile’s Sidekick franchise.

Finally, it looks like T-Mobile will launch their first Android device from LG sometime in November.

If you are a long suffering T-Mobile customer that has been waiting to upgrade your G1, start saving your money and hope the HTC Emerald lives up to all the hype and rumors. I’m also really curious to see what Motorola comes up with to compete against HTC. It was reported they would deliver a 2 GHz phone, so we will wait anxiously.

There has been no advancements with battery life in the last two years, which means that a 2gb phone will have extremely bad battery life. Motorola sucks!!!

    • noriega713

Hopefully with FULL Hspa+ support (Most Likely) and front facing camara and please NO MotoBlur but wait if it comes out with Gingerbread it will be PURE Android…I like the sound of that…

How do you know? I am debating whether to wait for the update or install cyanogenmod. I am just getting frustrated with the wait!

      • http://Website dethduck

Because T-Mobile already has said, officially, that it would be 2.2.

2.2 is not on Cyanogen either at the moment… Though thier 2.1 build for the mytouch/dream is awesome… Better than any other os I have encountered for the phone.

I’m really hoping for a powerhouse phone around the holidays. I’m ready and willing to shell out the cash for a Gingerbread phone that takes no prisoners.

Are you kidding? For the first time since we got the donut release, we now not only have a definite official word THAT we’re getting an update ( straight from the latest 100% You mag ) but now we have a definite word as to WHEN we’ll get it. This month has given us more than the last 10 months have together.

How did you get the mytouch magazine? Is there like a web site you visit to sign up for it or what?

        • http://Website dethduck

They have mailed it out quarterly to me for free since I bought my MT3G back in september. I’m not certain if they send it for the MT3G 3.5mm or slide owners but I think they carry copies in the company stores.

        • http://hello joeykache

We carry the magazines in corporate stores.

Besides, it could be worse.. remember Samsung Behold…II

        • Haulngas

I hear that. Samsung Behold II owners are getting jobbed.

All I ask…is that “Magenta” provide a 4.0″+ screen , 5 row qwerty slider, HSPA+ ready, with a 1.5 ghz or higher processor to replace my G1 that I’ve kept for almost 2 years on contract.

    I think that’s fair…no?

Hmmm . . . Engadget just reported that an HTC device launching in September will be the first to provide HSPA+ support. At the same time, they claim that the leaked “Vision” device will be the first HSPA+ device. Based on this roadmap, the device in question would appear to be the Vanguard. Could it be that Vanguard = Vision? With the letdown that was the Vision leak, could it be that Emerald is the superphone we’ve been hearing about?

Just curious… what phone currently matches what you expect from TMo?

  • http://Website boredg1owner

T-Mobile’s handset lineup really leaves a lot to be desired. I’m ready to give up my g1 but I don’t want any of the phones they’ve got. The only way I’d stick with T-Mobile in 2 months is if they have a decent phone come out.
