Just days after the leaked Google Voice application from Tmobile’s upcoming G2 phone, Google Voice received an official update in the Android Market. The updated application brings two new homescreen widgets.
The Google Voice Inbox Widget allows you to view your Google Voice voicemail and text messages right from your homescreen without needing to launch the application.
The Settings Widget allows you to quickly launch the Google Voice application, compose a new text message, change your Google Voice dialing preferences, and immediately put you into “Do Not Disturb” mode so that all your Google Voice calls will go straight to voicemail.
You’ll also be able to see your credit balance at the bottom of the widget.
Widgets are one of the main things that make Android stand out against its competitors, and the Google Voice widgets are both handy and very well done. We encourage you to head over to the market and update your Google Voice application to the latest version.
As always, let us know what you think about the update in the comments.
