Dell’s 7-inch Android tablet gets captured on video

Yesterday Michael Dell showed off their new 7-inch Android tablet and now a quick video is available that gives us a closer look. No hard details were provided, but we believe this is the Looking Glass tablet that was first seen earlier this year.

On the outside the 7-inch tablet looks pretty similar to the 5-inch Dell Streak, but leaks suggest the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor has been upgraded to the dual-core Tegra 2. The Streak product launch was a disaster and the tablet still sits at Android 1.6 in the U.S., so hopefully Dell has learned from their mistakes.

The Looking Glass was originally scheduled for a Q4 launch on AT&T, but we no longer know if that is still the case. It has been reported that HTC and Motorola are waiting till 2011 to release their tablets, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Looking Glass gets pushed back to next year.

Check out the video and let us know what you think. Do you think Mr. Dell really understands the Android ecosystem yet?

Maybe they can outdo themselves and launch it with stock 1.5 and charge another $200 for this and stick it on Sprint.

We use YouTube videos whenever we can, but this was in Flash. I assume you are browsing from an older Android phone.
