Buy this game: EVAC by Hexage

EVAC is Pac-Man for the smartphone generation. This unique arcade game from our friends at Hexage takes the tried-and-true eat the dots gameplay of Pac-Mac, but then throws in some Zelda-like puzzles, Metal Gear Solid style stealth, and a little bit of Tron neon.

I know that might sound confusing, but the game actually starts off really easy and then walks you through the different booby-traps and power-ups. The game encourages replay with its ever-growing total score and multiple ways how to beat each level.

We love to support great developers that make awesome Android games, so go check it out in the Market if you need a new fix to kill some time this weekend.

The game comes in two versions – EVAC and EVAC HD. The HD version is optimised for advanced hi-res handsets and tablets including Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S, HTC Desire, Nexus One, Motorola Droid, etc. The basic version of EVAC is intended for Android handsets with lower performance and or smaller screens (320×480 HVGA) including HTC G1, myTouch 3G, HTC Hero, HTC Legend, Motorola CLIQ and more.

Hexage is making both version of EVAC available for 50% off the regular price for the first two weeks to celebrate their first HD title on Android Market. That means if you go out and buy it now, it will only cost you $1.50.

EVAC gameplay features include:

  • Unique mix of genres with arcade, action, stealth and puzzle gameplay elements.
  • 24 meticulously designed levels, each with a different twist.
  • Creative gameplay – think of your own ways how to beat the game.
  • Online leaderboards – Your highscore can only grow bigger every time you play.

Should an HTC Aria running Cyanogen Mod 6 get the HD one or the other one?

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

The HTC Aria is a HVGA 320×480 display so get the normal non-HD version.

I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure you should get the regular verison

Didnt really like It… but just cause I dont like touch directional controls… Love Radiant, Tho… Best game for Android so Far along with Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

I already spoke with the dev and they are working to improve the touch controls. This is only version 1.0 and Hexage always puts a lot of work into their titles after launch. I think that’s the best part about buying Hexage games.

Just got it on my G2. Glad to hear the dev is working to improve the touch controls, but as far as touch pads go, this one is pretty intuitive so far. Love the combination of Pac-Man and puzzles! Great buy.

Hexage makes really great looking, great soundtrack puzzle games on Android. They have been developing games to the Market from the very beginning so I support them.

I’m using the QR barcode to get the Evac HD version, but it’s saying that the requested item cannot be found. Is anyone else having this problem? I can see the standard definition version fine. Using a San Francisco (ZTE Blade) running 2.1.

Stupid market… Eventually got it to purchase, now every time I start the download it says unsuccessful…

    • http://Website Inquisitor

try going to settings>applications>manage>all, find anything that says market and force close and clear cache. if that doesn’t work, do the same thing but this time click clear data. then maybe reboot.

But before I get it, can the game be controlled with physical keyboards? Can the keys be remapped?

i bought the regular version for my g1 on cm6 and it wont seem to save my level unlocks… it also puzzles me that theres no exit button in any of the menus. i figured that upon exiting the game properly it was call for a save command. anyone else having this issue?

You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be actually one thing which I feel I’d by no means understand. It seems too complex and extremely wide for me. I am having a look forward on your subsequent put up, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!

    I’ll buy it
