Samsung GT-i9200 firmware leaks

A mysterious new Samsung firmware was posted online today designed for a new phone with the model number GT-i9200. Several hackers are digging through the image files to see if they can figure out what this device is, but the model number is very similar to the dual-core Samsung phone (GT-i9100) that was confirmed this week.

Some have speculated this GT-i9200 might be a Gingerbread device or Samsung’s next flagship phone, but a senior member of xda-developers posted that this Android gadget uses Samsung’s S5PC110 Hummingbird processor found in the Galaxy S and the display size is only 800 x480.

We also know that the leaked Nexus S phone had the model number GT-i9020, but our sources say that version was scrapped and a newer dual-core version was already in testing.

Keep an eye on the source link because I’m sure more details will leak out. What device do you think the GT-i9200 might be?

Lets get serious here, Samsung is making it, its gonna have a cheesy plastic body.

      • http://Website My Galaxy

People keep going on about the plastic body on the Galaxys s, after you use it for sometime its absolutely fine, feels good and light in the hands and not heavy and cumbersome like some other phones. Not everybody feels like walking around with a paper weight.

I like when people who have actually owned the phone comment. ^ And not just repeat what others say… I have vibrant and mytouch 4G and prefer the weight of the vibrant. Your also right about damage to phone. If I drop mytouch it feels like aluminum would dent and when I did drop it battery lid buyer right off. Vibrant didn’t get phased. Both great phones.

      The front faced camera.

those specs are stupid… why in the world would you need a 5MP front facing camera?! I mean really 5MB that you’ll never use… aluminium bodies are actualy harder to replace fix the the company .. the phone repairs would skyrocket, and the aluminium isn’t that much better at protecting the phone.

When an aluminium phone hits the floor there are much greater forces working on the insides on the phone… phones don’t like that. Plastic actualy absorbs the fall damage.
