Taiwanese tipster offers some additional specs for the upcoming Motorola tablet

We got some solid details on the Motorola Stingray/Everest/Motopad when Andy Rubin took the stage with it earlier this week, but he didn’t fill in all the puzzle pieces for us and today a few more are being slotted into place courtesy of a reported hands on with the device.

We can’t really confirm the authenticity of these specs, but they certainly seem plausible enough and the spy shot you see above lends credence to his story.

  • 7 and 10 inch models
  • 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution
  • 32 GB Storage
  • nVIDIA Tegra 2 T20 dual-core processor
  • Gyroscope
  • 5 MP rear camera
  • 2 MP front camera
  • UMTS, CDMA and LTE Models

Beyond the specs he gave a few glowing and entertaining impressions (possible due in part to Google translate) which included “Super; really super” and “iPad instant you feel like a toy or something, like plates.”

I think the most interesting news here is the existence of 7 and 10 inch models. After spending some time with the Galaxy Tab and the iPad, I favor the 7 inch form factor as my use cases for a tablet simply don’t require a larger screen.Given the option which would you choose and what are the primary uses for a tablet that steer you in that direction?

I want one. With a paid/ad-free version of Angry Birds. Productivity would plummet.

Hope the wait isn’t too long. Can’t wait to get one. I actually prefer the 10 inch version. I don’t have a laptop right now (old one died) and this will be taking its place. Wish there was a 17 inch version.

See I think that is the problem with the larger tablets to me, I couldn’t replace a laptop with one right now so I’d just as soon it be more portable than a laptop.

Now that you mention a 17 inch version you have me wanting a Microsoft surface style Android table though.

    Specs look good.

I am not in the market for a tablet though like most, think they are cool. However, I doubt I’ll buy one just because of that.

As for what size I’d go with. If I wanted something that I was pretty much going to take with me everywhere, almost like a phone, I’d go with the 7inch. It’s small enough to fit in jeans’ pockets but still big enough to have a better (than phones) Internet surfing experience.

If I wanted it in lieu of a laptop, I’d of course go for the 10 inch. However, my 13inch laptop is only a little over a year old so Im not looking at replacing it anytime soon.

With that said, Im glad that the iPad is getting more competition.

I can’t wait for these to hit the market. Was hoping to find a tablet in my stocking this Christmas, but had to tell Santa to hold off because the current offerings just aren’t quite “there” yet. I would opt for the 10″ screen simply because my aging eyes will appreciate the slightly larger type.

This looks great….But I am waiting for HTC to present there 7inch and 10th inch offerings that is where my desire lies. I would purchase one only IF CALLS CAN BE MADE FROM THESE TABLETS AND IF IT IS 4G CAPABLE AND GOING TO SPRINT THEN I WOULD BE ON IT CRAZY…
