Facebook denies phone rumors, confirms HTC will be using their public APIs in an interesting way

Once again Facebook has denied the rumors that they are launching their own branded phone, but they also might have shed some light on the direction of HTC’s next version of Sense UI.

“The rumours around there being something more to this HTC device are overblown,”┬ásaid Dan Rose, head of business development at Facebook. “This is really just another example of a manufacturer who has taken our public APIs (application programming interfaces) and integrated them into their device in an interesting way.”

HTC recently filed for the trademark “HTC Sensation” which has led to all kinds of wild speculation, but no one really knows what HTC has up their sleeves yet. Thankfully we won’t have to wait much longer, as HTC will hopefully spill the beans in a couple of weeks at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

What interesting way do you think HTC will be incorporating Facebook’s services into their next devices?

Okay i’m starting to put two and two together.

Facebook is denying the rumors of a “facebook phone”. While T-Mobile has stated that they will be coming out with SideKick4G.

No if we know anything about the Sidekick line it was their servers were once owned by Danger. Since thing T-Mobile has pulled their Danger Servers services and use their own services.

Now if the rumors about the facebook phone being 100% cloud based storage. (insert sidekick here), and they are going be heavily influenced by social media (insert sidekick here), It’s going to be aimed towards the “Justin Bieber” crowd (insert sidekick here & insert T-Mobile here).

Now the only thing that is throwing me off is there are rumors floating around that the SideKick4G will be made by Samsung. But those are RUMORS so nothing is set in stone yet.

maybe my thoughts are lost, but it looks like this could be the SideKick4G.

Samsung is making the Sidekick 4G. I already had one source confirm it to me and David of TmoNews had his own contact recently tell him the same thing.
