HTC Inspire 4G headed to AT&T on February 13th for $99?

Not everyone needs a fancy dual-core phone. After ignoring Android for most of the last two years, AT&T is finally coming on strong with a solid lineup of 4G Android phones. We just learned that the Atrix might be dropping on February 11th and now it appears that the HTC Inspire 4G could land on February 13th, according to a tip from Pocket Now.

Once again, a product listing page has appeared on Amazon that list the HTC Inspire 4G for the low price of $99 with 2-year contract or $499 at full retail price.

The Inspire 4G is special because it’s the first phone in the U.S. to feature HTC’s new Sense UI that connects to their cloud service htcsense.com. The device also packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3 inch Super LCD display, 8-megapixel camera with HD video record, and 4 GB of internal memory.

I guess this is the result of AT&T losing their iPhone exclusivity – a nice selection of Android phones at heavily subsidized prices.

    I spy, with my little eye… A front-facing camera?

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

Sorry, the official specs do not list a front-facing camera.

For more info see here: http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/htc-inspire.jsp

at&t new line up of android phones put tmo entire collection of android phones to shame. teenhobo need to step their game up.

  • http://Website alex

Tmo has way better options and better phones than at&t, plus just cuz they havent announced a dual core phone dosent mean it aint happening, and tmo dosent have their android phones on major lock ;) just saying

Why do i have the feeling that this and the Moto Atrix will be a HUGE hit?…and I have to agree with you I have T-mobile, and so far the androids on Tmobile give it some time and T-mo will blow everything out of the water…maybe. And i hate to say it the next Vibrant doesn’t look promising…It looks like something the Nexus S should have been.

I give at&t credit… ABOUT TIME… Android gets the proper attention too bad it’s done by default… They lock down devices to far to the extreme so i wouldn’t be jumping up and down to much right now until you see the actual device working on there network.. If this was on sprint then this would be great… SPRINT has the best network and the BEST ANDROID LINEUP PERIOD…

    • http://Website Yankee503

How does sprint have the “best lineup”for android phones?? The only decent phone they got is the Evo. Tmobile has THEE best selection of Android devices, then Verizon coming in second. You need to stop smoking w/e it is that Sprint is sellin your ass because it sounds like they’ve got you seeing things!

      • krazytrixxxsta

how does teenhobo got the best selection when the majority of their phones are low end and mediocre. the majority of verizon line up of android phones are high end.

      • http://Website Richard

@Yankee503… You need to WAKE UP… SPRINT has the Samsung Epic 4g, the Htc Evo Shift 4g, as well as the htc evo 4g, these devices clearly beat anything on tmobile as well as at&t and verizon too. Alone there are over 30 million Evo owners throughout the sprint network which is the granddaddy of 4g. We started this all everyone is coping my BELOVED HTC EVO 4G now 8months later “”Why is that”” the form factor of the evo is what they all look like today… Evo rules you DWEEB

        • http://Website Yankee503

Ok? So the Epic is the same phone as the Vibrant (Vibrant 4G comes out this month), the Shift is Sprint’s way to copy the G2 and the MT4G is an upgraded version (faster) of the Evo. All the other mid to lower end Android phones are for the people that don’t want to spend $100-500 on a phone, like parents of young teens that want an Android phone. Where is Sprint’s selection for that crowd, “dweeb”?

Connecting to htcsense.com would be special if the service worked. It barely does as anyone who has a Desire HD or Z will tell you. It’s a good idea but it still needs a lot of work. Despite this, the Desire HD is a great phone and this looks good too.

As much as I want these prices to be right I find it hard to believe them. $150 MINIMUM for the Inspire and $299 for the Atrix is more realistic. These are most likely placeholders pages.

Seems odd that AT&T is stepping up it’s Android lineup just as Verizon is gaining the iPhone.

Not that it bothers me as an Android fan. Competition is good!

At&t is playing it smart.Verizon was huge with all the android phones and now theyre going to put droid on the back burner cause of the iphone and that’s where at&t picks up saying hey we now have great android phones available why not sign up with us

I don’t know how htc manages to make such great phones. I would consider buying this more than the atrix 4g or infuse 4g.

  • http://Website Lucian Armasu

It has this price because it’s a single core phone and Atrix will be arriving in the same time. Of course they can’t price it the same. Tough luck for HTC because they didn’t want to use Tegra 2.

This this is basically AT&T’s version of the Evo??

  • http://Website Mark

This is the Evo with a different name and a different network. AT&T are only showing Android some love because they’ve finally lost their hold on the iPhone. It’s gonna become common thing now so they have to finally start selling OTHER phones. Why didn’t they do all this while they had the iPhone. Bullshitters.

ATT has not focused on smartphones nearly as much as the other carriers have. They were late to the android party and now they are late to the 4G party. They had the best 3G network for many years but no one ever knew about it… I don’t understand why they didn’t realize like everyone else did that smartphones are the future.
