Motorola Atrix 4G ad shows up on YouTube

The Motorola Atrix 4G is certainly one of the most exciting handsets to come out of CES.  Since Motorola and Verizon have done a great job marketing their DROID branded devices, we’re glad to see that Motorola will be pushing their AT&T-bound handset just as hard.

Motorola’s short ad does an extremely good job of conveying just how much power the Atrix 4G has with its dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor.  But that’s not the whole story.  The clip also gives the public a glimpse at the mobile computing capabilities that are unique to the Atrix.

I know Taylor has mentioned that this will be his next device, but I’m still not completely sold on the Atrix.  In order to take full advantage of the power inside the Motorola Atrix 4G you will need to purchase the desktop or laptop dock. Pricing on the accessories is still unknown, but we’re not expecting them to be cheap. Personally, I’d rather wait to get my hands on a tablet once Honeycomb is released.

There’s no way I’m buying this since it has Motoblur. I want a stock villia phone that’s not locked down.

Motorola locks down their phones, making it very difficult for developers to create custom roms for it.

    Not interested. ONE word: MotoBLUR.

Exactly! I wish they’d take that crap out of it.

For the people complaining about MotoBlur: Have you ONLY used MotoBlur on the Cliq and such low end devices, or have have you also used it on the Droid 2/X?

ive used both and can tell you they suck.

I’m someone that purchased the Cliq and I’m now using the Mytouch Slide.

Yes, the Cliq is a lot worse than the Droid X, but they both suck.

All of the Motoblur phones are extremely hard to create custom roms for, which is the big thing for most advanced Android users.

It doesn’t matter if you have a Cliq or a Droid x, if it has Motoblur, developers won’t be able to upgrade the phone to the latest version of Android before Motorola.

With my Mytouch Slide, a mid-end phone, I’m able to use Cyanogen 6.2 on it, allowing me to have 2.2 way before the manufacturer releases the 2.2 update.

I’ll stick with the Bionic and hope the webtop application and accessories make it to Verizon. Theres a good chance with their track record for Droid accessories and Verizon marketing the Bionic as a business phone. Plus, what better use is there of LTE than with a dual core phone that converts into a netbook? AT&T and MotoBLUR just aren’t worth the switch though.

This commercial was aired on national TV during one of the playoff games last week :).

I remember a few years back, an ad with a business traveler heading through an airport, to a meeting, toting only his smartphone. It was a Microsoft commercial, but I could swear it was a Motorola Q smartphone. If so, they really learned from it.

I would take motoBLUR any day over the locked bootloader. And I disagree that the droid x sucks. it is not by far what it could have been but Liberty X rom and it is amazing no BLUR at all. developer’s can remove most if not all of the BLUR elements but what really has things bogged down is the bootloader.
