T-Mobile introduces their first 4G tablet, the G-Slate by LG

Anyone looking forward to getting their hands on a new Android tablet might want to keep their options open.  We all know about the Verizon bound Motorola XOOM, but LG and T-Mobile are looking to offer their own Android 3.0 tablet in the coming months as well.  T-Mobile made an announcement that they will be launching the G-Slate, a Honeycomb powered tablet from LG within the coming months.

T-Mobile is being a little coy about releasing specs or letting anyone actually see or play with the G-Slate, but we’re hoping we might be able to spot the Android tablet at LG’s booth sometime during CES this week.  All we know for sure is that the T-mobile G-Slate will be running Android 3.0 with Google Services (Google Maps, Android Market, and Gmail) and will feature support for T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ network. For now, all we have to share is a teaser video which previews a few of the new Google apps running on Honeycomb.

To any owners of LG products: How do they perform/how’s the build quality/etc.?

I’m currently on T-Mobile, but the XOOM and its February launch date are really tempting me. I’m hoping regardless of the device you can buy it off contract because I sincerely doubt there will be a wi-fi only version in the foreseeable future.

I think seeing as how they’re all running around CES like chickens with their heads cut off, in order to bring us all the information as it happens, you can cut them some slack.

WHY OH WHY DONT THESE TABLETS HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE PHONE CALLS. God..Everytime i look at a tablet, the first thing i look for is phone call capability. Then it states…”The UK version will have the Ability to make phone calls, The US..Not”
