Sony Ericsson giving away 10 free Xperia Play units if you like their Super Bowl ad

Do you want to be one of the first 10 people to play with the Xperia Play (“PlayStation Phone”)? Sony Ericsson is holding a special contest right now on their Facebook page called First2PLAY that could hook you up with an early device. All you need to do is vote for their Super Bowl commercial and then answer several questions describing your wants and needs.

No U.S. carriers or release dates have been announced, but I would bet on AT&T launching this device by summer. Sony Ericsson will showcase the Xperia Play at their Mobile World Congress booth next week, so we will be sure to spend some quality time with it and let you know how it plays.

The Xperia Play might not have a fancy dual-core processor, but it will be one of the first Android devices to have dedicated game controls, be PlayStation certified, and have access to a huge library of PSX classics. How many PlayStation fans out there are thinking about picking up this device when it comes stateside?

Love the commercial, I highly dought that an android user will think of fufilling their adrenaling full fingers into this device. Lacks in fashion and in hardware.

What it lacks in hardware, it makes up for in games. It might not have the fastest GPU (Adreno 205), but the Xperia Play will have a large library of games to choose from at launch.

I hate that commercial so much, I would not “like” it even if they promised to give me an Xperia if I did.

You know, in order to get one of the devices you have to finish in the top 10 in points. Seeing as the current leader has a 15K point head start, I don’t think we’re going to catch up…

Am I the only one that found that ad disgusting?

The more I read about Xperia Play the more interested I get.
They have done hardware optimizations, like double the RAM memory bandwith. I think that will not only ensure more fluid gameplay, it will ensure a more fluid experience in Android too.

My biggest question is the games.
If they deliver several good titles like Fifa and Assasins creed at launch they will have a good shot to success.
