Verizon was not joking about their commitment to expand their 4G coverage, which would cover about 200 million people by 2012. Verizon’s 4G LTE network lit up 9 new cities last week, but it seems like their work is not slowing down. Verizon is turning on the switch for the following markets on June 16 (and they are even more than last week):
It is good to see that 4G LTE is spreading widely, especially if you are the proud owner (or want to be) of an HTC Thunderbolt or a Samsung Droid Charge. With all these developments, though, chances are that there will be some rocks in the road. Verizon sure stumbled a bit (or a bunch) when their network went down last month. It does seem, though, like they have gotten up stronger now that they are bringing these blazing speeds to such a wide range of markets. Let’s just hope that they are not taking on more than they can handle and things work smoothly.
