I’m Color, an Android watch available in 7 colors

Succeeding the I’m Watch, the I’m Color is a wristwatch that comes packed with a customized version of Android. We have seen other major manufacturers bring similar ideas, like the Sony Ericsson LiveView, and Motorola’s just leaked Tracy XL. Though these manufacturers’ prestige is much higher, the I’m Color is definitely not staying behind, and it is certainly a viable option to consider.

Though the I’m Color is basically an Android device/accessory, it works on multiple platforms. This nifty device is able to connect to iPhone, Android, and soon to other devices like Blackberry. Upon making a connection with your device, the I’m Color gives you access to multiple applications, like Facebook, Twitter, Email, and text messages. It is even possible to answer incoming calls with it, much like those classic science fiction movies we all love. Like the Sony Ericsson LiveView, this Android watch connects to your device via bluetooth, but it can also sync through WiFi hotspot (for the iPhone, no mention on WiFi hotspot connection with Android).

The I’m Watch creators have announced that the support for developers will be released on June 30, allowing the capabilities of the I’m Color to be widely expanded. A few months after that, around the end of September, the collection of watches will be available in 7 different colors – white, blue, green, yellow, red, pink, and black.

The price for one of these spy watches will be 249 euros (around $360 U.S. dollars), which is a bit of an investment, but it is a very cool and convenient gadget to have. If you feel luxurious though, there is also the I’m Jewel, which is available in 6 different colors – yellow gold, pink gold, white gold & diamonds, titanium, black gold, and special. Now these fancy boys start at a whooping 599 euros (about $860 U.S. dollars), and can go higher depending on the design. If you want the Rolex of the Android world, this may be the way to go.

Check out the different images below, and let us know what you think of these new watches. Do you think you will be getting one of these (They are available for pre-order here)? If so, which color do you prefer?

As a beneficiary of the amazing world first Android watch phone,I am pretty satisfied with the Z1 Sandwich Android version on http://www.ibuygou.com , do wanna to recommend it to everyone. Far exceeded my expectations. Why not give it a whirl on http://www.ibuygou.com/prod/Z1…. Btw,the lastest Android Sandwich Version has already been released. It’ll never let you down.

Here are my latest observations on the updated firmware from http://www.ibuygou.com

It appears that all the major bugs have been fixed and your team has been very responsive in making changes and communicating to users. The major issues which remain and which will limit the usefulness of the z1 in some eyes are:

Wifi is ok and this with the fact that 2.75 G is very slow is a problem for anyone used to a newer smartphone.

The touchscreen seems to have inconsistent sensitivity. Some functions like the keyboard are remarkable fast and sensitive while other functions seem impossible to make work without repeated touches. Slow and consistent would be better than erratic.

I suspect that the limited internal memory may be the cause of some erratic behavior when to many apps are running. Some better management of running apps might help and I need to look into apps that might help.

There are many apps that are listed from the market as incompatible with the phone. I have worked around many of them by loading up older versions from the froyo era. It might be good to encourage users to report on things they find will work and share apk’s like you do with Facebook, etc. For example play books from google will not work but an older version of google books (the precursor) works just fine. The same is true with swift key keyboard, and xda developers. Fortunately I have kept all the lot apps from other older phones and have them to experiment with.

this is enough for now I’ll continue to give you feedback as I discover things

Just bought a watch from Ibuygou, took them 2 WEEKS to ship out! SUPER SLOW SHIPPING and keeps making excuses on why its delayed. ANY other seller from China ships out in hours and I receive the item in 10-14 days.

awful shipping process. you’ve been warned.

I’m not sure if I’m happy with myself over the fact that I actually want one of these.

    • http://Website Extremet

I would have to get the “I’m Jewel” ones though, the regular ones look terrible

    • http://Website alexandroid

I definitely want one — not sure if i could bring myself to pay for one, let alone wear it in public…but i want one ;)

  • http://veefinger.com Derek

Are they water resistant? I have been waiting for a watch that I can get text/im messages on while I’m surfing that way I know when dinner is almost done or of an emergency.

    • http://www.photonlight.com Bryan

Well, with the bluetooth link, you’d have to have a waterproof phone in your pocket too… Or an open wifi network close enough to the beach to get signal while you’re surfing. So I think it’s not quite there yet.

  • http://Website James King

Words can’t describe how awesomely geeky this would make me look… it would complete me…! As long as it isn’t deadly slow, considering a *nice* watch costs £100, paying £220 for one that does all that doesn’t seem too unreasonable! I wants!

  • http://raseel.in Raseel

    Nice !!
So now I need a JVM to tell time

    € 11,999 !? Sick :D

    I want the black one.

  • http://Website Jason

I’m seriously about to press the pre-order button, but what is the likelihood that this product even ships, let alone performs to our expectations.

  • http://Website Pip

I like the form, but not the colours or pricetag! Teenager colours, but grown up prices. Really like the idea about having a little touchscreen on my wrist that can interact with my phone and run apps.
Wonder what the battery life is like though – docking station for nightly charge? Ideal would be if it could charge through body heat/ movement, but I doubt that will give enough juice.

  • http://Website Rosa

Is it me or do they look like they were going for a power rangers theme? …I soo want one… I disgust myself

  • jivemaster

Totally epic, and what the live view should have been.

  • http://Website Rich

But the real question is will it run Cyanogen.

    • AME

Who wants to be the one to ask him if he’ll start developing for watches?

As cool as these are, I don’t know how the folks at XDA will take to them.

  • http://Website Jr.

They look really nice bit the icons and notification bar is all iphone, and not android.

  • AME

I would get one if it was $150, but $360 is too steep.

I do think it would be awesome to have a weather widget on my wrist… of course, my phone is only a few inches away from my hand at all times… so yeah, maybe $100.

($150 if it didn’t make me look like a girl!)

  • http://Website kausik

OMG I want! but this is really very expensive for what appears to be a slight improvement of the ipod nano (check them both out closely, they have the exact same built and appearance)

    • http://Website Nick

It might look the same as an iPod Nano, but the functionality is completely different. It’ll be fun to see what developers will be able to do with this thing once or if it hits the market.

      • Paradox

A nano with a software upgrade and bluetooth .. the price is way out of line.

  • http://Website Vlad

I won’t buy that shit just because they use iphone icons.

They use android but promote iphone .. bit**s. I’ll bettee wait for a true android watch :)

I hate myself so much that I want one of these

Ooo… angry birds on my wrist :-D

    I want the green one

  • http://Website Jesse

Waiting for more specs. I’ve been needing a new watch for a while.

  • http://Website Laurie

That’s cute, but “I’m not buying” it.

  • http://Website Nick

I need one right now! My firs has been asking me what I want for Father’s day. I think I finally know.

The main thing that drains my phone battery is checking twitter and email constantly throughout the day. If I can check my gmail and twitter on my wrist or get Gtalk and SMS notifications, my phone should be able to last an extra 2-3 hours a day.

  • http://Website BoD

I own a SonyEricsson LiveView (basically, same concept).
It seemed to be a cool gadget.

Except that it NEVER worked properly.

The bluetooth connection is always ‘dropped’ which in effect means that the watch can’t communicate with the phone, and is therefore totally useless.
There has been a firmware update, which didn’t fix the problem.

It is now collecting dust on a shelf. So disappointed. This thing had potential.

  • http://ovalencia.com Jon

    Beautiful but expensive.

  • http://Website magictheboss

I think it’s an awesome gadget!!

But I think it’s a fake as well… Don’t you think if they’ll start selling it on september 2011 they should have actual images of the product?? Not just 3D concepts??

I’m dying to see it for real and I want it but I really think the whole story it’s a con…

Besides, it’ll be more relyable if it was chinese but italian?? Italians make good cars, good clothes, good parties, but good technology?!?! Sorry if there’s any italian dude. I’m spanish and I don’t see it either as an spanish gadget…

    We’ll see…

    • Sphere

I agree with you, it looks so great, but it’s strange we cannot see any real one before ordering…

Italian make good food too, as well as spanish (I’m french, so I know about good food ;-) ), but I travel tre world seeking for new technologies and gadgets and I think it’s weird that nobody even saw a prototype, neither at the GSMA in Barcelona nor in Italy where I was a couple of month ago…
