T-Mobile and HTC will supposedly launch three new phones on June 8th

It looks like T-Mobile is about to get a whole lot of love from HTC. According to a job listing found via Tmonews, T-Mobile and HTC will announce three new devices on June 8th in Houston, TX. As you might remember, we’ve already seen the June 8th date pop up before.

Even though T-Mobile already announced the HTC Sensation 4G, it’s possible that the company will take the opportunity to showcase it on June 8th. That’s one HTC device, but what about the other two?

The second HTC device could very well be the HTC “Doubleshot” aka the myTouch 4G Slide. Coincidentally, the phone just passed through the FCC wearing T-Mobile’s uniform. If rumored specs turn out to be true, the Doubleshot will launch with the following hardware:

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • MSM 8660 Dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU
  • 3.7-inch WVGA display
  • 8MP back-facing camera with 1080p 3D recording
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • 768MB RAM

That leaves us with one more HTC device left. The only other HTC phone that we know is coming in the near future is the HTC Wildfire S, alias the HTC Marvel. The Wildfire S is simply an updated version of the Wildfire, which is a small phone aimed at the low-end of the market. The phone will probably compete with T-Mobile’s other cheap Android phone, the LG Optimus T, with a price somewhere below $50. The HTC Wildfire will launch with the following specs:

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense
  • 3.2-inch touch screen with 320 x 480 resolution
  • Qualcomm 600 MHz CPU
  • ROM: 512 MB and microSD slot
  • RAM: 512 MB
  • 5 megapixel color camera with auto focus and flash
  • 1230 mAh battery

While the HTC Wildfire S is not the most impressive Android phone ever; a well-built, snappy, and cheap Android phone will become very popular among people who want a smartphone without the three-digit price.

We’re assuming that all three devices will be Android-powered, but there’s a chance that one of these phones is running Windows Phone 7. Powered by Android or not, we’ll be paying close attention to whatever comes out of the June 8th event.

Awesome, I plan on picking up a new phone for my sister. I was going to go for the Sensation, but the MyTouch 4G Slide or the Marvel would suit her bette.

Looking at the job listing, I think this is an HTC-exclusive event. But who knows? We might see Samsung make an appearance as well.

HTC might be part of it, but those handsets are set to actually launch on the 8th. The Wildfire S and the myTouch 4G Slide might be unveiled that day along with the Sensation.

Ever thought about, that releasing android phones literally every month, CONFUSES the average joe customer (read: my mom).
She has no clue whats going on with android phones and the different brands adds to confusion (let alone fragmentation), but she knows and recognizes the iphone commercials really well. Guess what she is about to buy?

While I never comment on posts like this, it’s worth stating that this is the mentality of the average Apple fan. These sheep will literally purchase whatever Apple wants to sell them. It’s sad.

What it really comes down to is marketing and how the product is presented. Apple has the best marketing there is and that’s why the iPhone and iPad are popular. I saw a commercial the other night for the iPad and it showed how doctors, pilots, parents etc. could use it and I think it’s a damn good commercial. Granted, I love Apple products: I had the very first iPhone ($500 4GB) before it really took off. I had a Macbook and now have a Macbook Pro and have no intention of switching back to Windows, but I switched from iOS to Android back in 2008 for a reason…

Just remember, if you’re not already on T-Mo and you’re in the market for a new phone, that Sprint and Moto are having an event to introduce/announce two new devices the next day (June 9).

If you’re not committed to T-Mo, you might want to wait a day and see what Sprint and Moto have to say.
