Dolphin for Pad enters V1.0 beta

Dolphin Browser HD and Dolphin Browser Mini have long been two of the most successful third-party web browsers on Android. Just some of the more popular features that helped propel the Dolphin Browser team to the top include tabbed browsing, downloadable add-ons, themes and gestures. Starting today, those great features will be available for Honeycomb tablet users. Dolphin for Pad is now available in the Android Market as a version 1.0 beta.

So what can you expect from the newly tablet-suited Dolphin browser? Much of what you can find in Dolphin Browser HD, just heavily optimized to feel more at home on a tablet. According to the Dolphin blog, initial ported features include:

  • Gesture
  • Add-ons
  • Multi-touch zoom
  • Tabbed browsing
  • Side bars
As with all the Dolphin Browser team’s projects, you can expect Dolphin for Pad to be updated quickly with enhancements, improvements and more. Downloaded it to my Xoom and it s much faster than the HD version.. Tip, when exiting use the clear cache/history option.. Makes reopening it a whole lot faster

In other news: Dolphin for Pad is such a lame name, and I’m sure is going to make people think about the iPad.

      Fail, Dolphin. Very fail.

You get a +1 for that Anthony. I agree! When I saw it on twitter I immediately thought it was for the Ipad

I would have went with, “Dolphin XXXL: Beefy Browser.”

Man, I need to get a tablet already. I like the stock browser on my phone for it’s simplicity, but I think I would actually start using the gestures of Dolphin browser on a tablet.
