Hail to the king, baby; Official Duke Nukem 3D now available

Nerds of the ’90s rejoice! Duke Nukem 3D, a game many of us spent countless hours playing in our childhood days, has received an official launch on the Android Market. The folks over at MachineWorks LLC teamed up with the folks at Tapjoy to port the popular game in all its glory to our phones and tablets.

Duke Nukem 3D contains all three episodes you know and love from the original game, but there’s a bit of a catch. For $0.99, you’ll get the first episode of the series. You’ll be able to unlock episodes 2 and 3 through in-app purchases (likely in the $1 – $2 range, probably the same $1 as the app purchase).┬áThat being said, for those of us who played the game religiously, $1-5 is certainly well worth it to be able to play this classic on our Android devices.

If you enjoyed the Duke Nukem series, or if you like lewd, crude games filled with aliens to kill, strippers and awesome one-liners, you simply owe it to yourself to download Duke Nukem 3D from the Android Market.

    No multiplayer?

    • Anthony Domanico

Sadly, there is no multiplayer at this point. Judging from the developer website, we probably won’t see a multiplayer anytime soon.

this game rocks and brings back so many memories

  • Interpol91

Supposedly the controls for this game are not as good but seeing as updates will more than likely change that later on, this is definitely worth it for the dollar. Oh the wonderful memories this brings back.

so tempted, but I’m horrible with touch screen controls. Hmm, the Xperia play looks more interesting now…. if this game is supported with the controls.

If you’re in luck, maybe it will work with SixAxis? Then you can use your PS3 controller to play. I’d try it out myself but I think I’ll wait a bit judging by the reviews on the Market.

Just D/L this and tried to install. Won’t work at all insists there is no space on the SD or Phone which is not true. Very frustrating.
