Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Verizon LTE unveiled

Guaranteed to be one of the hottest tablets of the year, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has just been unveiled with Verizon LTE.

The high point of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the absolutely stunning display. The 7.7-inch 1280×800 Super AMOLED Plus display will easily provide some of clearest, brightest images on any tablet to date. Up until the Tab 7.7, the biggest Super AMOLED Plus display we’ve seen is 4.5-inches, at 800 x 480.

Of course the display isn’t the only spec worth mentioning, the Tab 7.7 also comes with access to Verizon’s LTE network, a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2 with TouchWiz, 16GB of internal storage, a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera all at just 12 ounces in weight, and 7.9mm thin.

As with most other Samsung products, the Tab 7.7 will come equipped with a vast array of custom apps and software. Samsung’s MediaHub and SocialHub are both present, along with QuickOffice Pro HD, AllShare DLNA sharing app and Peel Smart Remote. The Tab 7.7 is also SAFE certified, signifying that the Tab comes with an “exclusive suite of security features that deliver enterprise-friendly capabilities to help safeguard sensitive data and communications, including Mobile Device Management (MDM), on-device Encryption, Virtual Private Network (VPN) and corporate email, calendar and contacts.”

Look for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 to launch on Verizon with a keyboard and multimedia dock in the coming weeks.

Sounds like a very nice device. I’m wondering, though, why they chose 7.7″ instead of either 7.0 or 8.9? Seems like a strange size to go with given their previous tablets…

    • Zeratoda1

I may be extremly wrong but i guess it was to fit that LTE radio in there and maybe a bigger battery. again IDK im no tablet engineer

The display size shouldn’t really matter, that would be related to thickness.

    • Trinhbo

It seems like Samsung is searching for the perfect screen sizes that consumers are willing to pay for. They now have 7.0, 7.7, 8.9, 10.1 and rumored to have 11.6 on the way.
