Angry Birds Space now live on the Amazon Appstore and Google Play Store

If things go according to plan, Angry Birds Space should now be available on the Amazon Appstore right here. The game will be available for free with ads, $0.99 for the ad-free version, or $2.99 for a special HD version made for Kindle Fire. Amazon also has a ton of plush toys and t-shirts available for the obsessed fans.

Head over to Amazon’s getting started page if you have never installed their Appstore. It only takes a couple clicks and you should be up and running in minutes.

Rovio told us the game would also be available in the Google Play Store, but we don’t have an exact time when it will go live. It could be up by the time this post goes live, but we think Amazon scored some kind of limited exclusive launch.

We will be sleeping when the game officially launches, so let us know in the comments below if you were able to download the game. Does Angry Birds Space play like a new game?

Update: Angry Birds Space is now live on Google Play Store.

Nope, not available. I get the promo for it, but the actual app is not available for download.

Check your journalism for accuracy next time.

So what you’re saying is I DIDN’T just download it from amazon app store and NOT about to play it? Maybe you should check harder before being a rude ass.

      • Mantas Pakenas

It’s probably not rolled out to everyone yet for some reason, as I can’t find it either. Only reinforces my dislike for Amazon Appstore…

On the brighter note, it’s already available on Google Play, enjoy :)

      • Alvin B.

+Charlesbrown79 No, I’m not saying that at all. All I’m saying is, at the time I posted my comment, nearly 30 minutes before yours, it was NOT available. The fact that it is NOW available is irrelevant. Taylor merely jumped the gun on the post button, and I pointed that out.

its not journalism you idiot. This is a fan site, its friendly information for Android fans. You want journalism, watch FOX news.

Is an HD version not available for the Android Market? Only lists the standard version there, and its free, too.

    • Taylor Wimberly

Google Play Store only has the free version. You need to use Amazon for the ad-free and HD versions.

      • copa

Well thats a bummer. I live in Europe and afaik, the Amazon-Appstore only works in the US right now.

        • amgala

Ad-free and HD versions are now available in the Google Play Store. Can the standard (non-HD) version be played on tablets, and the HD version is a special higher res version? Or are tablets limited to the HD version only?

          • TruFactz

Actually, If you go to the computer based version of The Play Store, you will be able to see if it is available for your device…….Actually i just checked and it is only available for my Toshiba thrive, and my old streak is on my device list and it isn’t supported, so I’m guessing that one (HD) is only for tabs

        • awundrin

Same here – so while we wait for it in Europe, I can try to master all of the levels in Angry Birds Seasons! :)

  • Oskar Wismierski

Great game but I’m not sure if its optimized for tablets yet.. the intro comic is playing on a small square and the background image looks a bit off but overall the game-play is good ;) hope they’ll improve the tablet version soon

So if I’m reading the comments right only the free version is on Google Play? I really hate installing apps via Amazon. So much in fact that I pretty much quit looking for the free app because of the update process and constant notifications. I wish they could be updated in the Play Store instead.

I would uninstall the Amazon appstore except I need it to update my current paid apps. Any workarounds people?

    • pekosROB

I’ll probably wait until the paid version comes to the Play Store. I would want this more for my Prime than my phone.

      • pekosROB

…Aaaannndd Google Play now has the 99 cent paid version! Yay! That didn’t take long at all!

        • ihatefanboys

Amazon Apps are easy to install and update.

  • Paul Atreides

I’ll get the free version to play. I’m done with the Amazon Appstore.

  • thekaz

Great. Another Angry Birds version for me to not get around to finishing…

  • SGB101

this one is is by far the best, already wasted an hour on it

  • kwills88

Well, this is the first time I’ve downloaded angry birds on my phone, and I gotta say unlike the others, this one has some level of difficulty where you have to put in some thought on how and where is the right place to launch your birds. I just might keep this one.

  • spintrex

Just installed this should be pretty fun… this gives a very Mario Galaxy vibe

    • mattcoz

It really does, I’m sure it was inspired by it.

  • br14n

Is there really a clear difference between the regular version and the HD version? Has anyone tested this out?

    • Taylor Wimberly

HD version appears to only be supported on a handful of tablets. It won’t work on my Transformer Prime.

  • Paul

It’s on the play store now. 22mb. Ouch. It’s an interesting game. My 3 year old loves playing Angry Birds/Rio/Seasons but I don’t think he’ll be able to play this one, there’s a lot more thought into the levels and dealing with gravity. Too bad, he’s an angry birds addict.

  • bellken

played 2 levels so far, it looks good – got it from Amazon.

  • spazby

awesome, i can kill a few hours with this game…

  • JT

Just curious why are apps like this & SuperStickmanGolf free on Android but .99 on iOS?

    • mattcoz

  • aryin

    the trailer is so cute

  • Jorge Vieira

Its actually a pretty good game. Just bought and downloaded on the note and it is a pleasure to play on that screen. Can wait to get to the. Try it if you havent!

  • copa

on an unreleated note: Why is there no paid ad-free version of the classic angry birds game? Surely not getting this for free seeing how much battery ads are draining.

  • ihatefanboys

When something is FREE, ads are never an issue :-)

  • uknowme

Stupid addictive game, why do you steal my free time.

  • perlowin

Birds can’t breath in space!!! Everyone knows that! Do they have bird-suits?

    • Burnd

Didn’t you watch the youtube video? They became super heroes when passing the purple wormhole!

  • Kron

First on Amazon? Sorry, but I don’t think so. It was first introduced by Samsung for their own App Store. Samsung will load Angry Birds Space onto every smartphone they sell and by buying into the franchise by sponsoring it’s development by Rovio, they’ve earned the right to special additional levels as well!!!
