HTC Velocity Android 4.0 update rolling out in Australia

With the Android 4.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation and Sensation XE currently making its way across the globe, the HTC Velocity in Australia now joins the Ice Cream Sandwich party. HTC Velocity owners in Australia are reporting that Android 4.0 is currently being pushed out over the air, though there has not been any official confirmation from HTC regarding the update.

As with the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE Android 4.0 update, the HTC Velocity will be getting HTC Sense 3.6, which was specifically built with Android 4.0 in mind. If you’re not familiar with the Velocity name, you may know the phone as the HTC Raider in Asia or the HTC Vivid 4G in the US. The HTC Vivid is on the official HTC Android 4.0 update list, but we do not know when the update is scheduled for release.

If you’d like to see what Android 4.0 looks like on the HTC Velocity, be sure to check out the video below. How much longer are you willing to wait to get Android 4.0 on your HTC device?

HTC ICS updates are slowly starting to roll out. Hopefully, we will see the updates rolling out to more devices in the coming weeks.

The updates just ain’t rolling out fast enough in my opinion, my unlocked Asian sensation still ain’t recieved the update, I’m sorry to say this but I feel let down big time by HTC even though I’m gonna be one of the first phones to be update it just ain’t happening fast enough this day and age things should be moving quicker at this rate jelly bean is gonna be out!! And another thing if any of my friends galaxy S 2 get there update first there’s gonna be trouble!

    • redraider133

So you would rather them push out a mass update and then if any issues arise that completely screw your phone up then you have to wait months for a fix? I am pretty sure your phone can make it an extra week or two I mean after all you buy a phone for what it currently has not what it “may” receive.

      • Galen20K

Exactly, see people don’t think about the repercussions of a Mass update.

Lucky people I can image their excitement when they woke up to their phone saying update 4.0 is ready to install.

Nice job HTC! Definitely give me confidence to get another HTC fone in the future for how fast it delivers the updates!

I see they’ve updated the market to google play, but kept the market name (unless that’s something he’s added himself of course). Guess they didn’t like the new names haha

Where the Frak is 4.0 for the HTC Evo 3d??? Seriously HTC….? When is htc going to break bread with us 3vo owners??? This is like having my moto cliq waiting for an update… Jeez

    • DROID Sam

Dude, take a chill pill. you’re update is coming. If anything you should be happy to see that this phone is getting Android 4.0 even though HTC didn’t make any mention of it getting the update in March. This just means that your EVO 3D may be getting it sooner than we expected.

    • tmihai20

The Evo 3D is not on the list of the first phones to get ICS, it will receive the update, there is no need to yell like that. I will wait, especially if the 3VO would get Senseo 4.0 :)

    • Galen20K

the Evo 3D ICS update isn’t coming until way later, you’ll have to hold on just a bit longer than the rest.

Some of these comments make me laugh, I love HTC phones had a few of them over the years, but some people just don’t know what there talking about when it comes to updates and stuff…..big..LOL

Since you are all knowing about there updates, could you please enlighten up with your knowledge? What are we missing?

Are we missing the fact that HTC is now updating three different phones to Android 4.0 while Samsung is only pushing out the update to one?

Are we missing the fact that HTC had the first and the most phones updated to Gingerbread from Froyo?

Or as we missing the fact that your pissed at HTC for some reason and you simply want to rain on everyone’s parade?
