Samsung teases Galaxy Note II in new online video

If you discount the next Nexus device, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is the most wanted Android phone for the remainder of the year. We widely expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy Note II on August 29th at IFA 2012 in Berlin, and tonight the upcoming unveiling was virtually confirmed with a new teaser video.

The 38 second clip features German film director Wim Wenders as he talks about when magical moments come alive. We never get a glimpse of the full device, but there are multiple shots of Samsung’s touted S Pen stylus.

When it comes to hardware specs, most people are speculating the Galaxy Note II will feature the same internals as the Galaxy S III, with the addition of a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display. Samsung should stick with their Exynos 4 Quad processor, but they could surprise us with their newer Exynos 5 Dual chip.

Check out the teaser and let us know what you think. Are you hoping this 5.5 inch monster comes to your favorite carrier?

I would actually consider this phone if it came to Verizon. Never really thought I’d get a phablat but this phone could be a larger version of what I was hoping the sgs3 would be.

Still don’t think I could tote around something that big.

Does it even fit in a front pocket of a pair of jeans?

      • DJ

My Nexus 7 fits in my jeans and back pocket albeit a little snug

And no I don’t wear JNCOs

            I lol’d!

You might be joking but we have to get past this, “will it fit in your front pocket?”

Of course it will with room to spare. Unless you wear fitted jeans. It is not as big as you think. Every phone actually looks smaller in person. That’s why I wish Tablets were actually bigger. Screen wise anyways.

I agree. I would definitely have to take a look if it came to Verizon. Some of things you can do with the pen are actually very interesting. But we’ll see if it actually lands on VZW.

So it comes in white, and has a shiny, reflective surround like the original Note (14-15seconds). To be expected.

Just get the thing in the shops already so I can decide whether to upgrade or wait for the next one.

  • McLovin

It would be great if after the announcement it would be immediately available. Waiting for it to come to your corner of the world or your carrier sucks big time! If I have to wait 6 months after the initial announcement I’ll lose interest.

I’m hoping the G Note II has the same 16 x 10 aspect ratio as the original G Note (1280 x 800.) Makes it more tablet-like than 16×9 (translated to 1280 x 720), which is fine for viewing HD videos, but less friendly for web browsing and reading books. Just my opinion.

Wow Samsung has done some fantastic Galaxy Note ads. This one gave me shivers.

I’m curious to see what this thing can actually do. I hope its not just another beefed up SGS phone with added tablet like features. I winder how they can differ here then just making it bigger.

Really just interested in the next Nexus but that’ll be a while.

If they make it a smaller Note 10.1 but patch up the UI lag and keep the same resolution the 10.1 has I think I’ll be sold. Been holding out for this thing for too long. (Though if it doesn’t come to T-Mobile by the end of the year I think I’ll have to give up on it.)

    • Dave Clary

It just doesn’t seem realistic that T-Mo will get this anytime soon since they JUST got the original. It’s really too bad because I would love to have one with Jelly Bean running on it. I just gave my international version of the Note to my wife because I joined the rest of my family on a T-Mo plan (she rarely uses data so doesn’t care about the Edge limitation). I love the way the Nexus runs with 4.1 but I miss the big screen of the Note (and, yes, it fits in my front pocket just fine).

  • Dave Clary

It will probably be a long time for a T-Mobile friendly version because I would guess that the international version, like the the original Note and S3SG, won’t work on T-Mo’s 1700 band.

  • BigCiX

Am I the one that doesn’t give a hoot about this phone?

  • Jake h

Is the 5250 to much to hope for? Can’t wait to start seeing that monster in some handsets.

  • news on android

wow! A good teasing to keep the interest going. Just curious to see if it is really that big. I’m pretty sure the hardware specs are going to be rocking in this one too.
