HTC to unveil new Android devices on September 19th

If you want to see what’s next from HTC, circle September 19th on your calendar. HTC just sent out invitations to the press for an event a couple weeks from now in New York. We don’t know what they will reveal, but chances are good we will see some Android devices since these invites are going out to Android sites.

Possible devices that could be announced include the rumored HTC One X+, the leaked HTC tablet,¬†and the mysterious black HTC phone. It’s possible we might also see the US version of the newly revealed HTC Desire X.

What would you like to see HTC announce?

I REALLY hope HTC makes this a universal release and none of this carrier-exclusive bullcrap. The One X would have been MUCH more popular had they done this. To this day, I can’t buy one that works well on my carrier. :-/

I think maybe we will see the One X2 on multiple US carriers next year. But it’s going to be hard for HTC to give up the EVO, which is a hero brand for Sprint.

      • jaxidian

Then they can simply name theirs the Evo One X2. Works for me!

    • JayB95

Yea no One X on Verizon was bs.

      • Nick Gray

You can thank Verizon for that.

    • Richard Yarrell

This is pretty much on schedule with the upcoming launch of the Htc One X + September 26th for Tmobile. Plus I look forward to the upcoming Htc Galaxy Note competitor device that Htc will show. This helps innovation..

Is that dot and circle supposed to be reminiscent of opening Google Now in Jelly Bean?

  • SmithDroid

What I’d like to see is Jelly bean on Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE before they replace it with another phone.

    • uknowme

I’m waiting on the same thing. I finally went the root route though. I’ve tasted Jelly Bean and its good!

  • KennyL

I want to see HTC’s Galaxy Note II competitor.

      +infinity to this.

        +infinity, divided by zero.

Well as others have expressed to me on the previous post about LG, we all hope inclusive in this announcement is a Note competitor for Verizon. There are rumors of a 1080p screen floating around the interwebs as well. LETS DO IT!

  • Dustin Earley

I’m hoping for a One X+ variant with stock Android for T-Mobile. The one the was rumored long, long ago.

    • SanzaBlancoAkA2C

That’s what I’m hoping for. I hope it has on screen buttons too. Don’t understand why HTC hasn’t moved in that direction yet. Oh and a bigger battery.

      • Nick Gray

I could care less about on-screen buttons. Capacitive buttons means you can actually use your entire screen 100% of the time. On-screen buttons means you’re 4.7-inch display is more like a 4.4-inch display 99% of the time.

What’s the use of having a larger screen is nearly 10% of it is being used for buttons.

        • uknowme

At first I didn’t like the idea of capacitive buttons. After using it though I will miss them when they finally disappear.

Great if they announce that 1794×1080 phablet, or larger battery OneX2+ or some hi-res Win8 tablets (close to retina resolutions)

But what would really shock the whole smartphone landscape is some new killing Win8 (not WP8) phablet, ideally on Intel Atom processor for 100% compatibility with the desktop PC, the analog of XPphone or Fujutsu true Windows phones. Pity, this will never happen though…

  • KennyL

Sad to be the bubble-burster,but I’m thinking that this will actually be a windows phone launch now that I look closer at it. Anyone else notice that the font is Segoe? Same font that microsoft uses on WP8 devices.

    • Orion78

It’s going to be Android and windows. Some Android websites received invites.

      • Nick Gray

HTC’s PR team doesn’t keep track of who blogs about Android and who blogs about Windows. They just care who blogs about HTC. I know bloggers who only cover Windows phone who got invited to the EVO 4G LTe event this past spring.

Hopefully, it will be a phone that I can get just in time for the holidays. By phone I mean it has to be an android phone.

  • mikeybot

    QWERTY G3 hopefully?

  • WlfHart

Maybe they’ll reboot the HTC Flyer and give Samsung a run for its money in the tablet + stylus department…

  • skeeterflea

I dont know about you all but I am ready to hear some “Nexus” specific news! I’m so tired of my g2x. Running ICS courtesy of Eaglesblood but my next device will be Nexus. It would be great if HTC would recapture the OG Nexus recipe!

  • Esoth

HTC needs some sort of flagship android device in order to stay competitive with the Galaxy SIII and the imminent launch of the next iteration iphone.

It wouldn’t hurt if they tried another foray into the tablet market either, as long as they don’t pull a Sony and release a device with specs and pricetag from a year ago.

  • Bhupender

thanks for sharing good information, It is a great device for new generation,

  • theviper21

I hope they make up for their lackluster Incredible 3, but I doubt it.
