Dec 26 AT 10:06 AM Clark Wimberly 330 Comments (CLOSED)

I know Christmas was yesterday, but our blog’s brakes haven’t been changed in a while so we’re not slowing down. Today is your second chance at the grand prize in our 25 Days of Tegra giveaways we’ve been running all month. Just like last year, since our final giveaway is so huge, and because we’re afraid some of you are probably off spending time with your families on Christmas (what?!), we’ve spread this prize pack over 3 days. We’ll pick a name from each day, giving us 3 finalists, from which we’ll pick one grand prize winner.

The Prize: Nexus 7 (32GB), HTC One X+ (AT&T LTE), Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11, Sonos Play:3, Sonos Bridge, and Jawbone JAMBOX

If you’re keeping track at home, this is over $2000 worth of gear. And I’m not talking about inflated MSRP’s, I sourced that number from Amazon’s live prices. One of you folks is about to clean up something fierce.

Contest Rules

It’s a holiday miracle! This year we’ve expanded our eligible countries to include the following: US (excluding Puerto Rico and its other territories and possessions), Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic, Australia, China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau), Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, India (excluding the State of Tamil Nadu), and Brazil. If you’re keeping track, that’s like quadruple the locales we normally ship to, so huzzah!

How to Enter

To enter to win today, you’ll need a rank of at least 50, and we want you to share a story from your Christmas festivities. Tell us about your favorite gift, your family traditions, or your brother passing out in an eggnog-fueled haze. Don’t celebrate? Make up a story. Simply leave a comment below and you’ll be entered to win. Multiple comments are allowed on this post, but each user will only be counted once. The winner will be chosen at random (provided you tell a story), so don’t bother downvoting each other. If you’re not a registered user yet, join us and start building some influence.

Phase three will be a much stiffer challenge, to show some love to our loyal droidheads, so get in now while you can. If you’re a power user, make sure to check back tomorrow (as your odds might continue to improve).

Winner (coming soon)

Forgot my story. Well I would have to say my favorite gift for the Holidays is definitely being with my significant other and loved ones. We always have a great time telling jokes and having some drinks. The gifts are great too and so is the food, but the company doesn’t get any better.

  • psipher

Had a nice dinner with a group of friends, old & new.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  • SparkyXI

Parents got me a 4-pack of CAO cigars this year. Can you dig it? I can dig it. Merry Christmas, all.

    • Vance

Lucky you! I asked for some Man O’ War Armadas but my family doesn’t fully appreciate or understand my hobby so no luck :(

  • acidone

We told my daughter that she was going to be a big sister! Best gift ever! see the video below!

    • Dradien

Ok, that was adorable. That’s how we told our extended family, except our little son had the same shirt on.

      • acidone

We did the same thing, she had that shirt on at the family parties that afternoon and that’s how everyone found out. But we told her first with the shirt… She has been asking for a brother/sister for a while and because of my wife’s cancer we’ve had to put it on hold until now :-)

    • raichleb

That was awesome. Thanks for sharing it with the community.

  • spazby

My holidays were bittersweet as my grandmother passed away the weekend before.

She always wanted to get more family together for the holidays, and I’ve seen more family this year than any recent year.

    • dpleus

Condolences on your loss. I have had similar experiences this year with the loss of four family members since September.

    • Jeff Pan

      Sorry to hear that.

    • dacatalyst41

Man….I’m sorry to hear that. I lost my uncle this year in January so I know how tough this can be. That’s never easy to deal with. Especially around the holidays. I pray the Lord gives you guys peace during this tough time

    • jak2rocks

I know the feeling. My grandma passed away last year in August and she also wanted the same, and it did happen. But her birthday was in Christmas, so it’s always a little sad…

  • Shawn Flanagan

We always make eggrolls for Christmas. And I’m not talking about your normal, skinny eggrolls. These things are the size of Chipotle burritos, packed tight with pork, shrimp, cabbage, water chestnuts, and other delights that are a family secret, so I won’t be telling them here.

Other than that, I pretty much spend my holidays doing tech support for family members.

  • thymeless

My son wanted an android device for the holidays, phone sized, but not active as a phone. I picked up a used Galaxy S and set to work to make it as modern as it can be. Which means rooting and ROMming it. The initial root went well, but the ROM, not so much. Soft bricked it.

Recovered from that. But CWM is not compatible with this device anymore so I had to dig up an older version off XDA and slip that into the old 2.1 Android settings. From there, things went better. My first ROM choice of LaNight failed to install, but last night, my next effort of SLIM 4.2.1 Android went smoothly and it’s running a modern version of Android smooth and fast and stable.

A happy Android Christmas was had by all.

  • Dradien

I’m not sure how well this is going to be received, but it was funny to me and my family.

My borther had gotten my son one of those Nerf Guns that shoot little discs some time ago, and was excited to give it to my son. As we all know, the tragedy at Sandy Hook just happened recently, and my kids teacher explained what happened to them, in such a way that you can to a 5 year old.

Anyway, come Christmas morning, my son was on a roll, loving all his gifts and whatnot, and he got to the nerf gun. When he ripped it open, he got the “excited face” and said “I saw this on TV!” Someone then said “Did you want that steve??”

Then the unexpected moment, “NO!!!” with the type of emotion only a 5 year old can muster.

It was adorable, more of a “You had to be there moment” I guess. All was well, he was shown how to use it and fun was had by all!

  • mustybooks

    Happy boxing day!

  • dpleus

Christmas Eve dinner with my wife’s family. Being Catholic and Russian, they have a few traditions that we observe every year as Christmas Eve is the big celebration/dinner night.

  • mustybooks

Got extremely drunk as per Christmas time… recovering now. Got my raspberry pi to tinker with and help me through this difficult time XD

  • mario_1603

    I would like to win..
I remember when I was a kid and my parents didn’t have money for gifts so they gave me a game like monopoly, I was sad because I wanted a bicycle but with that game we spent a lot of time in family :D

  • Kaote

Had a really relaxing morning with my daughter and girlfriend. Enjoyed the wonderful weather down here in SW Florida. Ended the day going out to see Les Miserables. All in all a good day.

  • kookeetree

Nothing special. Quiet and relaxing day with the family.

  • Steve Heinrich

I watched my two 4 year old nieces get a kindle fire each for Christmas. I’m not 100% sure how to feel about that, but at least they are using some version of Android and not iOS. For me, I got some Google play gift cards which is awesome. And then we ate some amazing meatloaf and everyone passed out with a full belly. It was pretty good.

    Thanks AndMe! Good luck everyone!

    • dacatalyst41

I spend an hour talking my cousin out of buying the Kindle Fire only to have her turn to an iPad Mini. Her coworker tells her to get the Nexus 7 AFTER I did and all of a sudden it was a brilliant idea. Smh

      • Steve Heinrich

That sucks. If people think they need an iOS device let them waste that extra money. I feel like I should be getting commission from Google because I sold 3 people on getting the Nexus 7 this holiday, and they actually bought them.

  • SCJaredJ

We wake up and open presents before rushing to my wife’s grandparents house three hours away. Then we eat and take a nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzz

  • renn9420

Count me in. One year my mom got me a cat. Well it decided to take a crap on the brand new sweater I just got. Which was good because I didn’t like the sweater. My excuse to not to wear it. Lol

  • uknowme

Well me and my sisters gave my Mom a Kindle Fire, a Roku, and a new winter jacket. Then went to my girlfriends Christmas celebration. Then to her house. Then church, then to my extended family celebration. Good times were had by most. You guys rock!

  • calmness

Among the gifts was a sushi-making kit. SO made sushi rice; we cut up veggies; the tool squished the rice around the veggies for happy, evening sushi feasting.

We have a tradition of gaming together: electronic, board and card ones. Standout memories are from playing various versions of Gloom; part of the game is telling an outrageous tale so you can lay a card down. It’s fun to get silly with family and friends.

  • Slith

Got a Sierra Designs TOV jacket and had a great time with the family.

  • bellken

My son got a RC robot, he said it was the best thing ever.

Well there is no one crazy like that in my family, but my dad could be little out there when he has couple of drinks in him.. This Christmas was quiet and relaxing, it was just me and family enjoying each other… and exchanging gifts, I myself got a nice watch that I have been waiting for as a gift.. and I have my sister a Galaxy Note 10.1 which she loved…

Over all nice Christmas, Fully satisfied :)

  • jeshep

This Christmas was very relaxing as we stayed in town and didn’t have any relatives visit. Just spending time together without any distractions was my favorite gift. Watching the snow fall with my daughter and helping my son with his Lego Mindstorms today has been a great follow up.

  • Anthony E

My Christmas festivities involved playing video games :D

  • marcus1518

Christmas was eventful this year. My wife has a “bun in the oven”, and my mother hosted a party with 20 or so people. So there was lots of belly rubbing (of my wife) and questions about our soon to be child. The weather was not as nice as it could have been, and I ate way to much food…but overall it was a great holiday.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful christmas.

    • Vance

Congrats! We’re expecting also and are on our way this morning to find out the gender!

  • lou2cool88

Every year we roast a whole pig on Christmas Eve! Good luck everyone! Better luck than our pig had…

  • Vance

every year since I was 17 I’ve gone to a movie on Christmas night. It used to be me and my buddy, now it’s me and my wife; and the number of friends and extended family who join us increases each year. This year my wife got the very sexy Samsung chromebook from her Santa baby and we saw Django Unchained, which was fabulous! Merry Christmas to all!

  • sandy105

we had plum cakes in the night and then had a nice dinner at a asia bowl with my family.
it was a long time since my grandparents ,my sister and me were at home ,so we had a nice time.

  • Lee Swanson

Everyone had a great Christmas! Our cat (pictured in my user icon), was excited by the new catnip and a shoe box. The kids loved all their gifts and we loved that they loved them. The best gift of all is having great friends and family.

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone has a great 2013!

  • nebelriss

well we stopped giving gifts to each other and i like it this way because it’s less stress for all and we can enjoy Christmas even more. usually my family meets at my parents house and we have a lot of food and wine and vodka.

  • nicotinemind

Back in the old/young days we’d have a Christmas meal, exchange gifts and after all festivities I’d go into the basment and I’d watch Silent Night, Deadly Night. It was a tradition untill I moved out:)

  • jamal adam

I watched the series finale of Merlin and rooted my Nexus 7 and installed Cyanogenmod 10.1.

    • dacatalyst41

      Well done, Sir!

  • Dave Kratter

For Christmas, my little brother gave me the flying pony I always wanted. I rode it around the whole city, and even bumped into Santa on his way home. He looked exhausted. Poor guy. At least he’ll have 364 days to recuperate though.

  • mernen

There was a problem with the neighborhood’s power, and we had a blackout for about half a minute. My sister’s 5 year old son told us not to panic, though, as it surely was just Santa not wanting to be seen. So lovely!

  • wRggltibl

I got a bunch of games that are cthulthu thened like cthulthu flux and gloom. My brother got phone, my mom a new computer, my dad a large quin jet lego set, and my brotherplayed his new computer games. Once or twice they play a game with me, but for most of the day I’m stuck in room gorging on candy and playing cthulthu gloom with myself and the cat. Save me, give me a tablet. My family was glued to thier computers, so I couldn’t enter yeserday!

Acully I had a good day but a tablet would help me so much(along with a phone and all those other goodies( then I could read my H.P. Lovecraft stories))

  • sbala

We enjoy CHRISTMAS by receiving awesome Cakes from our friends.
Also we like CHRISTMAS as we get a holiday here in India.
But now I am liking CHRISTMAS as I am going to receive the first gift in my life.
Its going to be none other than you………..ANDROIDANDME…….LV U…………..

  • techvudu

My brother and I went in on a gift for my 9 year old niece. she asked us to get her a Razor Electric Scooter so instead we picked up a $20 alarm clock that we found on sale from Kohl’s. I never saw a present tossed aside so fast as I did that one. We let her sweat it out another 30 minutes until we unveiled the pink electric scooter. We were all the sudden the best Uncle’s ever…

Not very exciting but at the time was priceless.

  • tlengster

Just spent the third Christmas with the girlfriend ;)

  • spintrex

Christmas was great! Everyone came to eat some well deserved lechon and celebrated the arrival of my sister arriving from her honeymoon. However our two male dogs decided to molest my girlfriend’s puppy in the middle of it all in which I had to come in and act as the dog whisperer.

  • crroy15

The past couple of years I have been making a new tradition, to start enjoying my Christmas and holidays with her and her family. Christmas has been quite tough to enjoy, three years ago yesterday my dad had a stroke and sadly passed. My mother has since decided that she will no longer celebrates Christmas at all, and deals with the loss still in her own way. This years Christmas was pretty joyful being with what I consider family now, and my girl friends family has embraced me into theirs. We had a wonderful day of Yankee swap, laughs, and wealth of warmth and love all around. Not a Christmas will go by that I wont think about my father, but I will always remember the wonderful times we shared as a family, and the I will look forward to the new memories I can share with my now broadened family. Hope everyone had a really fantastic Christmas!

  • breckdroid

Well I spent Xmas working:(, but I did spend a little time ripping up the slopes. Working at a ski resort on Xmas has its perks;) Had a nice Skype sesh with the family in the afternoon and followed that up with a solid dinner with friends. All in all, not a bad Xmas. Happy Holidays to all!!!

  • rbcameron1

Had a great day with the family. I gave my father in law Bret Farve’s zipper to his jeans, since Farve doesn’t use them apparently. Ho Ho Ho bringing back a joke from 2011..! No SNL fans? But seriously, everyone got a laugh out of it and I really got him a cool pair of vice-grips.

  • Laurel laurel25

We got my 2.5 year old daughter a LaLaLoopsie stuffed doll and blanket for Christmas (she loves those things) and she completely freaked out and ran around the living room dancing with the doll and yelling, “Oh gosh, Oopsie! I got Oopsie!!!” It was decided that no present that anyone received was going to top her response to her gift!

  • spidremann

Here’s hoping everyone has and will have happy holidays!
My favorite gift was bacon jerky…something I didn’t even know existed!!

  • nikhilverma

Actually we don’t celebrate christmas but my favourite present would be a perfect big family get together ( with cousins and all ) .

  • redraider133

Spent time with the whole family, exchanged gifts and dressed up like Santa for the kids

  • frpst9

My wife surprised me with a complete homebrew set-up in the garage. It includes a propane burner for making the wort, glass carboy, drying racks for bottles, siphoning equipment, capping station, and compartments for all of the ingredients. I had no idea she was working on this or had set any of it up. It was quite a surprise!

    • raichleb

Very nice! I’ve been home brewing for several years. Lots of fun experimenting with different recipes and the outcomes are usually pretty darned tasty…usually.

  • raichleb

We had a great Christmas with family and friends, but nothing out of the ordinary. It has occurred to me, however, that the 25 Days of Tegra is now becoming one of my holiday traditions. I mean, I enjoy this site year-round and will be following closely late this year when it’s time for a new phone, but these 4 weeks have become special. Of course I hope to win, but even without winning, I have enjoyed reading through the posts and entering the contests. I’m already starting to work on next year’s haiku.

  • B2L

My story is the typical, hung out with the family and played some board games. It’s quite fun to have some family friendly competition.

  • J3R3MY_H

My brother-in-law got a laser pointer for a cat that moves at random across the floor. The cat never chased the laser but my 2 year old daughter loved it. She chased for a good 10-15 minutes laughing the whole time. The laser ended up coming home with me.

  • isa007

I had a quite relaxing Christmas this year. Since my dad is on holidays this year, I just had dinner with my mom on Christmas Eve. Later in the evening I hung around with my boyfriend and some other friends drinking Feuerzangenbowle (a German drink cooked over an open flame with a lot of sugar and alcohol). As I have caught a cold before Christmas and felt a little weak (no, not because of the drink on Christmas Eve), I cancelled the familiy celebration on Christmas Day, stayed at home alone and learned for my exams which come closer threateningly. Today, on Boxing Day, we had a goose with dumplings and red cabbage for lunch with my mom. All in all, and in comparison to the last years, quite relaxing.

  • NegativeOne13

So I used to build model cars when I was younger. I told my wife I was interested in picking up the hobby again. Never would I have thought that I would get a model car yesterday. She secretly squeezed my favorite car out of me, and i ended up with a ’67 GTO. Though ’69 is my favorite I do love the ’67s as well.

  • fratch73

Best part of Christmas was giving my nieces an android tablet of there own.

  • honourbound68

Every Christmas, my family and I (my siblings and parents) watch TV while we’re on our laptops. My spouse actually took a pic with 7 of us with the laptops in the living room. This year, my kids and their cousins joined in so we had 13 laptops. I guess our new tradition is really a LAN party with us playing Minecraft or Diablo 3. Nothing really exciting but anyway, Happy Holidays everyone!

    • isa007

Wow, a quite “different” Christmas tradition, haha!

  • rantmo

Well a thing like this would make my extra day off an even finer one!

  • Jorge Eslava

Normally we have dinner with my wife’s familly and then mine, but unfortunately we had to spend this Christmas in the hospital because my youngest son has pneumonia. I still got to root my other son’s nabi 2 that he received for Christmas so I could backup all the games he had on my phone.

  • keridel

I got to have two Christmas’s this year. On Christmas eve I got to have my little daughters for a full Christmas which was amazing then off to my parents for Christmas day.

No presents for me this year but the kids got loads of stuff. New mobile for my youngest, new computer for my eldest and a recurve bow for my middle daughter

    Christmas rocks.

  • hurric

Great Christmas lunch at my brother’s until my sister in law told me to remove pictures from Facebook. Very fun though. I should really quit fb

  • eioous

It was a good day with the family. My favorite gift was a Spiderco Sharpmaker for my knives.

  • doublin

One of the gifts I received was one of those electric cigars since I use to smoke pretty much and for a long time by now. I must say I like it and I’m about to leave the analog cigar forever. Hope so. Good luck to all.

  • Jeff Pan

    Thanks AnMe

  • KPeter0314

First Christmas where we asked the boys if they wanted to leave out milk and cookies and they said it wasn’t necessary. Finally, straight to filling stockings and the local tradition of a bottle of bubbly!

  • Noven

This year I ordered a bunch of stuff online, sadly a little bit too late to have to gifts here before Christmas. So I gathered up stuff around my place that I had borrowed from my sisters and parents and wrapped them up so they had something from me on Christmas. It was fun watching them realize that I had some of these items for years, and with some of the stuff they thought was new. It was a lot of fun, but I can’t wait till their stuff actually gets here.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! Cheers to everyone at Android and Me, and everyone who contributes to forums and comments :)

Every year on christmas, my family celebrates christmas very big. We see each and every one from my family and have delicious dinners together. This year however I am in the USA for an educational programme and couldn’t fly home, so i joined my family via Skype, they put the Laptop on the table so i could see and talk to everyone, also my niece who just learned to talk :D It was a little comfort even though i miss my family a lot these days. I don’t have a gift yet, because my box is still stuck in customs but being able to see my whole family, even if it’s just Skype was great!

  • BlkSquad

I’m in for sure, good luck.

  • oddball

We have a traditional Jewish Christmas…… Chinese food and a movie. They are the only things open

  • lapak_zapak

My brother and his family joined us for the celebrations, I got a sweater as gift, very useful for this wintery christmas.

  • TheVoodoo

This year we didn’t travel to go visit family, instead we had our own Christmas for two, with a whole Turkey for two :-) so far it has lasted 3 meals and there is still a lot left over.

  • Jeffdwisc

My favorite holiday tradition is dodging political discussions with the in-laws. It can get messy especially when the Tom and Jerrys come out!

  • smwinn7

Relaxed all day with the family in some new slippers and watched movies until dinner

  • jaxidian

Started up until 7am. Initially games with the family, later video games when everybody fell asleep.

  • OpenIntro

This is the first time my wife and I have hosted Christmas at our house. We have 6 others staying at our house (along with the 4 in our family). Luckily we all get along! On Christmas Eve,my Dad and I went to Specs (liquor store) to stock up on goodies, and came across a monster bottle of Jack that my Dad wanted to get, but I thought was too big and not needed. He got it anyways. Christmas Eve went off without a hitch (though dinner out with a 3 year old and 17 month old is always a challenge). Christmas Day was so exciting for the little ones, plus I surprised my wife with a new car that had been hiding around the corner for 3 days. She got me a Nexus 7!!!!!!!!! Plus, it started snowing, which is something that has only happened on Christmas a couple of times in my life. We had snowball fights and even went on a run in the snow (bad idea). We had even more family come over to our house for Christmas dinner, which was cooked by my wife and mother, and was awesome. We finished off the night by playing cards until about 2 in the morning.

Long story short, we finished off the bottle of Jack.

    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

  • McLovin

Instead of watching “A Wonderful Life” or “A Christmas Story” on Christmas eve I watched “MrSmith Goes to Washington”.  I just like Jimmy Stewart and haven’t seen enough of his movies. Favorite gift: A Galaxy Note II for myself.  We saw Les Miserables on Christmas day.  Glad I saw it but wished they wouldn’t had done it as a musical.

  • YMS123

I enjoyed spending time with family over the holidays, (I also picked up a bunch of discounted games off Google )

  • paladaxar

I’m away from family this year, and so my best friend invited me to join his family this year…what a blessing! We played games, ate food, laughed and cried (’cause we went to see Les Mis!).

What a great Christmas…I’m so thankful for family AND for great friends…AND for Jesus!

  • Allan Tribe

I got a Vizio Co-Star for Christmas. It force closed after the setup wizard and once since then. But it is way better than the Roku my parents have. Been playing with it ever since and trying to convince my parents to take back their Roku.

  • zolikaaa666

It did’t happen this year but last year my father tricked my…I was laughing like hell….I got a Htc ChaCha last year and when I opened the box there was a little message: You didn’t win and a smiley :)…He hid the phone somewhere and i had to find it….I was very happy and not because of the phone but my father….He is the best Dad on the world and Im happy for having the Best Dad On The World :)

  • HumbertoH

Ok, web had no party at all, maybe some chat with my family, usual stuff. Favorite gif? Naww. I got nothing :( Not everybody have interesting lives.

  • antartis13

We all went to open the presents under the tree and to our big surprise the dog had left a hugeee POOP under the tree….Merry Christmas to you too Dog.

  • TJ Mir

  • seven2k

Really cool. Well from all the presents my 11month got the wrapping paper and boxes was what she played with most!

  • Charlong666

Every Christmas Eve we go to my aunts house at like 7 pm. During this get together we eat, drink, share gifts, and then around 11 pm my uncle comes out with his guitar and starts singing French Country. This is the part that I really wish I could leave. However, I was usually stuck there until 3 AM with my parents until I got my own car.

  • Futureboy

Spent a nice quiet day with family, which is what really matters.

  • Jimmy_Jo

I stayed home with my wife trying to plan out our week since we have 2 funerals to go to. :-(

The end of the year is rough sometimes!

  • Shay D. Life

Had dinner with family. Then everyone handed out gifts. I didn’t receive anything, but somehow I wasn’t disappointed since my children were happy with what Santa left for them. There’s nothing like family time, so it was still a great Christmas for me. Good luck everyone. Thanks Androidandme.

  • Jimmy_Jo

The instructions say not to worry about down-voting people etc. But at the start of this competition I was ranked 57 now I’m ranked 51. With a few of the contests requiring a Rank of 50 or higher, it’s hard to imagine that’s a coincidence.

Gave our older two kids a phone for christmas and our three year got upset that he didn’t get one too. We told him he can’t read yet so he isn’t big enough for a phone. His response… I know all my numbers, I don’t have to read to call you mommy. :p

  • ndub21

My wife and I are basically running from one side of our family to the other during the entire holiday. We have 6 Christmases that we celebrate. This year has been especially fun since we wrapped a pink stocking to reveal to everyone that our baby is going to be a girl!

  • dacatalyst41

Favorite tradition we started this year is letting my eight month old daughter, play with wrapping paper for hours as I try and listen to the tv over the constant crinkling. Good times! Merry Christmas everyone!

  • jonstle

We actually broke from tradition a bit this year. Instead of traveling half way across the United States to visit family we decided to stay home. A new baby was a big reason for this!

While I was a little sad to not see everyone. It was nice to have a great holiday with my wife and kids. It was the first one with just the 6 of us.

  • rewagner

    Another shot…too cool

  • Adam Jones

this year my to young children got new bikes from Santa Claus. I love watching their eyes light up as they walked into the room early early Christmas morning. Then we went outside in the cold and road bikes for few hours.

  • alxrock

I started at the beginning of December playing tricks and leaving random gifts in the kids stockings from “the Holiday Yeti” and ended with a stuffed yeti on my kids new bicycles on Christmas morning. It’s a tradition I intend to keep going as long as possible….. now if I can just find a good yeti costume for next year… :)

  • rewagner

Ours has become me deep frying or smoking the Turkey and wife and I love to cook so we lay out a great spread fo our family and friends. She makes the best cheesecakes ever (if we win I will ask her to make your staff one…hint, hint, nudges, nudge).

  • Droid XXX

My Christmas involved teaching my parents how to use their new Android phones. My dad got a Note II and he’s been texting us his drawings non-stop…

  • uzunoff

Spend Christmas with our cousins. Nothing crazy just had a few drinks while waiting for the kids to fall a sleep. Then we threw some presents under the tree and went to bed.

  • Louis A

I will never forget this one gift I got when I was 16 for Christmas. I grew up in Africa (Cameroon) and at my high school, I and a few other friends both boys and girls were doing secret Santa (18 of us) The rules were you pick a name, you buy the gift, you bring it to school and attach the person’s name to it. All gifts are going to be placed in one location at school and every body will come pick up their gift with their name on it. You’re not suppose to tell who you bought gift for so basically no one will know who bought them gift even after you get you gift. It’s up to the person to tell you later on. And you’re suppose to open your gift in front for everyone to see.

So when we got to school during lunch, every body picked their gift and I was last to pick up mine. I opened it and it was this red bra with and a matching red thong (I never had a girlfriend or even seen a bra, better yet a thong up close and personal and holding it too!! lol) I stood there in the middle of circle with all the laughter didn’t know what to do. I started walking away with my gift in hand. The hottest chick in my class (she didn’t participate in the secret santa) had seen everything and walk up to me and said “Louis I can try it out for you and see if it fits” (Will never forget that line lol) I stood there with my mouth drop to the floor and shook my head and go yah yah. I gave it to her, all the laughter suddenly went died and changed to ooooooooooo. We both walk away separately. The days and weeks that followed we became friends.
Only if I knew what to do months down the road when she finally showed me how it looked when she had it on. Up till this day, I don’t know who gave me that gift but thank him/her cuz that’s was first time was able to get real lucky lol.

  • jonneves

    Here i am again!

  • txbluesman

Christmas was great here in the DFW area. We had a white Christmas, so my daughter and I had a snow ball fight. We walked around the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights sparkling on the white snow. I got a set of SL150 Soul headphones, which was not expected. My wife did good, since I am the geek in the family. We had a nice Ham dinner and enjoyed spiced tea later. Of course there were plenty of homemade candy to eat. I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas as much as we did. Thanks for the giveaways Android and Me!

    • uknowme

Really you had snow? We got shafted in the Chicago area. Haven’t had a white Christmas in many years.

  • AvantGuard

The wife and I celebrated the way we always do: slept in, drank mimosas, went back to sleep, went to a late movie and had dinner at the Chinese buffet. It’s simple, but it’s tradition. Happy holidays!

  • theha9

Did Disneyland – it was great, but packed. All the lights at night were gorgeous, the parade was enjoyable. Loved the ‘nightmare before christmas’ themed haunted mansion.

  • myandroid99

I got a pair of beats… And had a great meal with my family… Still stuffed right now :P

  • heynomi4u

My favourite Christmas story is from last year, when my ex broke up with me on Christmas eve, so I ended spending the whole day disturbed and depressed in my basement until evening when a couple of my friends showed up and took me to a strip joint!

That was a good Christmas present, I must say!

  • r90a22

your going all the way. wow

    • r90a22

Like always whole family comes together to visit, and eat too much. Not much gifts this year. Nothing worth mentioning.

  • raovallab

We don’t celebrate Christmas at home but December 25th happens to be my brother’s birthday so festivities are always there !!

  • Fiasko

This was our first year explaining to our daughter how Santa works. It was a lot of fun taking her to see him at the mall and watching how excited she got when she saw the presents. Her favorite was her doll house.

  • Thomas Biard

My favorite part of yesterda opening all the presents. We posted Seafarersy was the games we played Seafarers of Catan and I won. Mwahahaha!

    • Thomas Biard

Man, posting from my phone was rough. Let me try it again: My favorite part of yesterday after opening all the presents was that we played board games. We played Seafarers of Catan and I won. We always turn the “love switch” off when playing the game with family so that no one gets all angry after the game.

  • Meister_Li

I spent Christmas mostly alone, but yesterday, a few friends in a simliar situation dropped in and we spent a long time playing Nintendoland. So it ended up being better than expected! :D

  • skugern

One of the gifts I gave was to my sister; she as happy with her turnip as I had hoped :)

  • ajonrichards

We followed our usual holiday tradition of going snowboarding with friends. This year we had a couple buddies visiting us from Texas, who’d never hit the slopes before! Much fun was had by all.

  • Alec Waddelow

My dog sneakily drank some spiked eggnog while everyone was opening presents. Needless to say the dog got very drunk, and it was a good time for all.

  • kazahani

My wife said something in passing a few months ago about wanting to learn how to play the cello. We are not people of means, and a cello would be out of our budget by more than one order of magnitude. I collaborated with all the members of my extended family, and we were able to find a good, quality instrument that we were all able to afford together through a friend of a friend of a friend.

Christmas Day was electric. Everyone was so excited about the gift, but my sister was picking it up that day, and we had to wait until she got there. Everyone was opeining their gifts and having a great time, and we left my wife thinking that she hadn’t gotten anything but a couple of ornaments and a shirt. My brother-in-law came waling in the house carrying a huge package wrapped in a mile of wrapping paper, and strode right up to my wife and leaned it up against her. She had no idea what to think, you could see the confusion on her face. She married into my family and had no idea to expect anyhting like this from them.

She started to rip open the paper, and as soon as she realized what it was we saw a few tears start to stream down her face and she left the room for a few minutes. My mother and grandmother started to get teary-eyed as well, and everyone was just so joyful and excited for her, I’ve never had a family moment like that in my life, and might never have one that compares to it again. We’re going to stop by the music shop in town tonight after we get off work to have the bridge set and re-strung, and I have no doubt that my house will be filled with joyful, mellow tones for the rest of our days.

I think this is exactly what gift-giving is all about.

  • cliffy223

This is spectacular whoever wins this will be set for technology for a long long time.

  • xray49er

I am more of the giving type so I gave my son and my niece a nexu 7 each. Helping them set it up and seeing the look on there face was awesome. Merry Christmas

  • Joel

The Grand Prize, Part 2 eh?
Awesome Idea. Hm lets see..yesterday was pretty cool, woke up late, went to ihop for breakfast (even though it was lunchtime), went home, ihop put my wife and I to bed, woke up, played xbox, Netflix (it didnt go down for me! :-P) then later on went to see the new Les Miserables movie (Please see this film). Pretty good day all in all.

  • juno23

Got a bit too drunk last year and stripped naked, ran down my (very long) road… Thought I’d keep up the tradition and did the same this year! However by the time I’d reached my house completely naked & frozen, I saw that my nan and grandad had popped down to say hello and I had arrived home just as they were getting into their car. Embarrassed is not the word. They were mortified!

  • Scottm

I had a terrific Christmas with my family at our house. I think the most memorable thing this year is when I ‘Biebed’ my youngest daughter. She’s 22 and I found a great ‘Bieber’ shirt with his mug on it. The reaction was priceless.. Then we all went to the only open place to eat – IHOP.

    Good times for sure.

  • Donald Williams

Part 2! Still in it to win it!

When I always see my brother in laws they carry apple product. Well we know about them people. LOL

I have the Note 2 and always show them how great and big the screen is. We ended up downloading an episode of South Park and watching it on the Note. I was surprised at how BIG, clear and how loud it was even over the kids and rest of the family doing their thing.

No mishaps. Nothing unusual. Just a pretty boring Catholic Christmas at two homes. On a side note I HATE YOU FURBY! Go to sleep already!!!!!!

Thanks for the contest AndMe and Nvidia!

  • rvetsch

I was skiing with friends. What a great day.

  • tkarel

Ran into some freinds, told them we had a “traditional Jewish Christmas” in mind, so they joined us.
The Nemans and the Karels went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. I hadn’t seen David in a long time so we talked about his job and my job.
Our kids talked to their kids. Another friend called, asked where we were, and ten minutes later Miss Kristal joined us as well.
The conversation was better than the food. But, honestly, who prefers it the other way ’round?

Cheers, androidandme, and best wishes for a New Year.

  • DroidSamurai

I’ve been giving hints to my wife throughout the last year. Every couple weeks, I told her my keyboard got dirty easily. In the recent weeks, I became more obvious, and often said things like “I really need to buy a keyboard that can be washed.”

It turned out she didn’t get it AT ALL (talk about how women always say men don’t get what they want) — she ends up giving me … da da da … a pair of Jeremy Scott x Adidas Original Wing Shoes: !

As you can imagine, a pair of Wing Shoes are so much more cooler than a washable keyboard :-D

    • Oscar Ortega

that whole year why couldnt you buy your own keyboard?

      • DroidSamurai

Ha ha ha — a good husband always leave something for his loved one to buy him for the holiday!

  • Moises Rivera

This Christmas I received a Sony 3D TV and my mom got an ASUS Android tablet. It was pretty awesome because I got to tinker with the tablet and play some xbox on my new tv in 3D. The tablet itself is beautiful, and runs very smoothly. I was a bit jealous that she got it, but I was also pretty happy because another android device in the household is always a great thing. Of course I was doing this while everyone in my house got drunk and began fighting over nonsense, but thats just normal. Now I just want to win this so I can have an android tablet of my own, and that HTC One X+, I’m dying to own that phone.. Merry Christmas Android and Me, and have a Happy New Year!

  • CaptainDoug

I received new slippers and socks for Christmas. Nothing better than comfy warm feet.

  • Oscar Ortega

i remembered when my uncle got drunk lol and the he started to sing with his guitar and all the family was in a circle listening to him sing, by the way he does know how to sing, so he wasnt drunk singing lol and then other uncles and cousins were doing sing along together. ……………..good luck everyone

  • keyl10

I got a Blu Ray player!

  • LukeT32

My lady friend got me a TF300T and keyboard dock!!

    • LukeT32

Should state its not only for me. It is a family present. ;)

With a group of scouts we performed this play at a Christmas fair:

Two traveling men, were carrying nothing more than an empty cooking pot. They walked to a village. Upon their arrival, the villagers are unwilling to share any of their food stores with the hungry travelers. Then the travelers go to a stream and fill the pot with water, drop a large stone in it, and place it over a fire. One of the villagers becomes curious and asks what they are doing. The travelers answer that they are making “stone soup”, which tastes wonderful, although it still needs a little bit of garnish to improve the flavour, which they are missing. The villager does not mind parting with a few carrots to help them out, so that gets added to the soup. Another villager walks by, inquiring about the pot, and the travelers again mention their stone soup which has not reached its full potential yet. The villager hands them a little bit of seasoning to help them out. More and more villagers walk by, each adding another ingredient. Finally, a delicious and nourishing pot of soup is enjoyed by all. When the meal is finished, the travelers grab there stone and cooking pot and continue there travel laughing.

The moral of this story: When we all give a little bit, something beautiful can be made, even when we don’t realize that at the moment.

    • pol biswas

      Wonderful.thanks for sharing this story.

  • alexanderharri3

Just as things were getting settled on Christmas eve, stepping outside revealed snowflakes softly falling to the ground – it was just barely making it a surprise white Christmas. There were still some shady spots with snow left over by morning.

  • mickjen

My anti-Christmas story involved lots of beer, sports and sweatpants. No tech toys this year, all gifts were practable or covering bills! So pick me randomly please!

  • GRAW

A second chance? The more the merrier!

  • surg3d

Had a wonderful time with family. Lots of laughter, singing, and good food. Can’t go wrong with that!

  • Shawn Clark

I barely made this cut…my Christmas story was I got C.o.D. Black Ops 2…started playing it…and to make a long story short….i suck really bad at it :( but thanks A&M and I wish you all the best of luck.

  • Puzzled by Choice

I thought I was going to have a heart-attack trying to blow up an inflatable tent thing w/plastic balls. Then I grinned my way through my 1yr old son’s first Christmas. He came downstairs and just kept pointing at a new toy and going “WOW.” He played his guts out with new stuff and then amused himself with the characteristic bags and cardboard boxes.

    Twas a good day!

    Good luck all!

  • professandobey

My cousin got everyone together for a group picture, pretending to get ready to take a picture but instead started recording video on his Note 2, then counted down: “Three, Two, JACKIE’S PREGNANT!!” getting all our reactions to the announcement on video at once. Brilliant.

  • Inquizitor

Nice, made it to phase 2. Probably won’t be able to play phase 3 so…..DADDY NEEDS A NEW PAIR OF SHOES!

    • Inquizitor

Oh, right, a story. Chinese food and watched Annie Hall and Pulp Fiction. Gotta love being a Jew on Christmas!

  • jak2rocks

Well, this year wasn’t the same as previous years because we didn’t go to my uncle’s house, but it was still nice for what it was. I went to my mom’s for lunch, ate with the family, they opened their gifts, I got none cuz they’re broke, but I don’t care. Then we went to take some pictures, and while we were trying to get my sister’s dog in one of them, he wasn’t looking in the right direction and he was lying down. But then she said the magic word and he bolted up and looked right at her (she was talking the picture). It came out perfect and I laughed my @$$ off!

  • teecruz

Well… my siblings are the best! I spoiled the crap out of them this year. went as far as to going to three different Walmart’s for ONE batman toy.

And my beloved gift to them, a new Xbox.. :)

now, if only androidandme could make my christmas even better… and gift me this package. My Christmas would be complete!

  • Bpear96

Hope you all on Android And Me that celebrate Christmas had a great one!

  • MJM128

I got a desktop tablet mount. Now I triple monitor at my desk. I had a pretty tame Christmas. Just breakfast and gift opening with the family.

  • crossbred900

Christmas went really well. This morning, not so much. When uploading pictures from the camera my sister had borrowed for my niece’s birthday last week, I discovered a black spot in the middle of every picture. One of her kids must have dropped it and damaged the lens :( Now I need this HTC One X to use as a camera.

  • taz88ny

I’m glad I qualify for day two of the final challenge.

My favorite Christmas tradition doesn’t actually happen on Christmas. Me and my friends get together for what we call Friendsmas. We exchange our secret Santa gifts, drink, eat and have a great time.

  • taketheleap

Without fail, every year, my family gets together and sings “Mary Had A Baby”, on every off-key note you can think of.

No, seriously… here’s one from a few years ago:

  • humidity

My favorite gift was a new Sony HX30V camera!!!

  • epps720

Wow another amazing prize!! Love the AAM + Nividia mashup!!

Let’s see we celebrated on Sunday w/my sister, Monday w/my wife’s Aunt, and Tuesday w/my in law’s…so I’m pretty damn bloated right now.

  • pol biswas

It was great day for me .Got up early in the morning and went to the church and pray to god for all peace and prosperity. Evening we had a blast party.

This Christmas was pretty tame. The young ones tried their best to stay up as close to midnight as possible. For the first time ever, we opened (some) gifts before midnight. And I got the equivalent of a Nexus 7 (a check specifically written for the purchase of a Nexus 7). This was a great Christmas.

  • cutiyar neriman

As we dont have enough money , so we cant to many celebration and festivals.

  • Homncruse

I spent the night of Christmas Eve at my parents’ house to get an earlier start on Christmas day. When I woke up in the morning, the family cat wanted out on the patio. It was wet and cold, and my mom reluctantly let her outside, knowing she wouldn’t stay out there long. The cat stayed outside for several minutes, staring off into the field. Something obviously caught her attention. I followed her gaze and saw a flock of birds flying around in the field. I heard their bird call, it sounded like they were seagulls – a little odd, since my parents don’t live that close to the water.

“Are those seagulls I hear?” I asked openly.

My mom looked outside. “No, I think they’re penguins. Someone’s out there feeding them though.”

I cocked my head slightly and stared at my mom in disbelief. “Penguins, huh? You mean to tell me that the field outside your apartment is home to flightless birds who happen to be flying around noisily?”

    “PIGEONS! I meant pigeons!”

“Gotta love the Washington State Flying Penguin.”

  • Jesse Moreno

This would’ve been my first Christmas alone. I was total prepared to finish a bottle over several repeats of my RENT DVD. But then my little sister called on Christmas Eve and convinced me to drive out to see everyone. 10 hours later and I drove into my brother’s house where everyone was, just barely beating the sun. Knowing I couldn’t stay long, I made the best of the 24 or so hours I got with my family.

Now I’m on my way back to the daily grind but I have a very merry Christmas to brag about to my coworkers. Also, road trips with the best music is very therapeutic.

Merry Christmas to all my Android mates!!

  • cb2000a

Got a Canon HF M500 camcorder and an SSD for my gaming computer. Went to see the movie “Silver Linings Playbook”….great movie! Talked and Skyped with family and walked on the beach in Maui…doesn’t get any better than that!

  • CTown

Yesterday, was a very bad day. Well, I guess I should say things were going well until Zombie Barney (remember that G.I. Joe shot him in the head) showed up. Seriously, he was a let down when he was still alive. He has absolutly no social grace whatso ever and not only that he is always trying to sing at the worst possible moment. I especially hate it when he makes his own “festive cheers”, such as: “Oh My God, She Is So Pregnant”. It got worse when he tried to get the kids involved. Going to jail for his crack addiction didn’t help much at all. It just made him bigger, meaner, and somehow even more purple! Nowadays, no one asks if someone took cookies from the cookie jar. No, we just let Zombie Barney do as he pleases…

  • aranea

I generally don’t celebrate xmas because where I grew up we don’t have the tradition. Yet I got to give gifts and receive this year. My story is about nexus 10 and apple:

One of my friends got a very nicely decorated sleeve cover for my nexus 10. I saw them before and liked them and she knew. When I tried to put my tablet in it didn’t fit. The sleeve was about half and inch short. Knowing I’m an android fan and mostly against apple, with a funny face she said something like:
-Of course they made it to fit ipad. why wouldn’t they make it to fit other tablets too!

  • thechad

Had an excellent day. Stayed home all day with just me wife and 4 little daughters. Best present was the 15 foot trampoline we got for the girls. It wore them out, in bed by 630pm. So lots of time with the wife. ;-)

  • Jorge Vieira

My bbest present was a galaxy note one last year!!!!!

  • tengo

Had a great Xmas with the wife, kids, and family! Didn’t get any android gear but maybe this contest will change that!

  • KennyL

Wife surprised me with a nexus 7. Spent the rest of the day with family. Great Christmas.

  • KOBesucker

I stayed home with my little sister and we drank some hot chocolate together. We sat sulking about the fact there wasn’t a single present under the tree.

  • thaghost

it would be nice to win twice!

  • WlfHart

Girlfriend and I baked cookies for the neighbours. Then we enjoyed a Christmas dinner w/ the ‘rents and a few of their friends. To top it all off we went on a drive around town to look at various Christmas lights.

  • scaarg

My father got drunk the last christmas and started screaming “Viva Aguascalientes” which was so freakin weird, then he started to give us “life lessons” that ended with him throwing up in the toilet with just one t-shirt and boxers… It was one of the most awesome times I’ve ever had. He danced with us, he cried and stuff… I guess he was just so happy that life was starting to make sense because we had some rough times and since then everything is better.

  • orangestrat

My brother lives in a different city and never gets the time off to come for Christmas, so we always buy all our gifts on boxing day then celebrate belated Christmas on the 29th and have a huge party after. It all works out, but its kind of a weird Christmas. Seeing everybody’s new stuff posts online yesterday was a little surreal.

  • Nicko01

My sister wanted this 3DS game for around a month and she kept telling me about it. Of course, I got it for her for Christmas. The day before Christmas, she bought the game for herself.
Moral of the story: don’t buy yourself something you want the day before Christmas, because someone may have already bought it for you. Also, save your receipts.

  • kr.ray.kaushik

My best gift dis christmas was my dad coming back to our home.he left us some years back and finally he made up his mind to cone back. ..we all are soo happy rite Christmas ever. ….!!!!

My sister and her family visited from out of town, and at one point on Sunday, we were at Barnes & Noble.

4.5 y.o. daughter to 7 y.o. son: You have to see this!
(She drags her brother over to look at a display of Magic cards.)
    Son: What is it?
    Daughter: I have no idea.

  • Luv_android

with Louise was a joke: my brother used to hang a pair of panty hose over
his fireplace before Christmas. He said all he wanted was for Santa to fill
them. What they say about Santa checking the list twice must be true because
every Christmas morning, although Jay’s kids’ stockings were overflowed, his
    poor pantyhose hung sadly empty.

One year I decided to make his dream come true. I put on sunglasses and went
in search of an inflatable love doll. They don’t sell those things at
Wal-Mart. I had to go to an adult bookstore downtown.

If you’ve never been in an X-rated store, don’t go. You’ll only confuse
yourself. I was there an hour saying things like, “What does this do?”

“You’re kidding me!” “Who would buy that?” Finally, I made it to the
inflatable doll section. I wanted to buy a standard, uncomplicated doll that
could also substitute as a passenger in my truck so I could use the car pool
    lane during rush hour.

Finding what I wanted was difficult. “Love Dolls” come in many different
models. The top of the line, according to the side of the box, could do
things I’d only seen in a book on animal husbandry. I settled for “Lovable
Louise.” She was at the bottom of the price scale.

To call Louise a “doll” took a huge leap of imagination. On Christmas Eve
and with the help of an old bicycle pump, Louise came to life. My
sister-in-law was in on the plan and let me in during the wee morning hours.

Long after Santa had come and gone, I filled the dangling pantyhose with
Louise’s pliant legs and bottom. I also ate some cookies and drank what
remained of a glass of milk on a nearby tray. I went home, and giggled for a
    couple of hours.

The next morning my brother called to say that Santa had been to his house
and left a present that had made him VERY happy but had left the dog
confused. She would bark, start to walk away, then come back and bark some
more. We all agreed that Louise should remain in her panty hose so the rest
of the family could admire her when they came over for the traditional
    Christmas dinner.

My grandmother noticed Louise the moment she walked in the door. “What the
hell is that?” she asked My brother quickly explained, “It’s a doll.” “Who
would play with something like that?” Granny snapped. I had several
candidates in mind, but kept my mouth shut. “Where are her clothes?” Granny

“Boy, that turkey sure smells nice, Gran,” Jay said, to steer her into the
living room. But Granny was relentless. “Why doesn’t she have any teeth?”
Again, I could have answered but why would I? It was Christmas and no one
wanted to ride in the back of the ambulance saying, “Hang on Granny, hang

My grandfather, a delightful old man with poor eyesight, sidled up to me and
said, ” Hey, who’s the naked gal by the fireplace?” I told him she was Jay’s
friend. A few minutes later I noticed Grandpa by the mantel, talking to
Louise. Not just talking, but actually flirting. It was then that we
realized this might be Grandpa’s last Christmas at home.

The dinner went well. We made the usual small talk about who had died, who
was dying, and who should be killed, when suddenly Louise made a noise like
my father in the bathroom in the morning. Then she lurched from the
pantyhose, flew around the room twice, and fell in a heap in front of the

The cat screamed. I passed cranberry sauce through my nose, and Grandpa ran
across the room, fell to his knees, and began administering mouth-to-mouth
resuscitation. My brother fell back over his chair and wet his pants. Granny
threw down her napkin, stomped out of the room, and sat in the car

It was indeed a Christmas to treasure and remember. Later in my brother’s
garage, we conducted a thorough examination to decide the cause of Louise’s
collapse. We discovered that Louise had suffered from a hot ember to the
back of her right thigh. Fortunately, thanks to a wonder drug called duct ta
pe, we restored her to perfect health.

Real story. The new room mate (as of August) had all 4 of her sons here and she wowed us with the cooking she’s done for them all their lives. I was down and out as my step mother passed in October (after my birthday) last year. So this was her time of year and I’m in her house right now. Just isn’t the same since she left even though pops is where he wants to be in a retirement community. So having the roomie fix non traditional holiday foods and have her family here brighten the day for me at least. I hope it did for the blood & by marriage relatives that were here too.

PS – her family was larger than ours here this year. LOVELY!!

  • Keith.Swiader

My absolute last shot: Must make it count! Thanks for the past 25 days, AAM!

    • Keith.Swiader

Oh, sorry. And my best gift this year was actually my new Series 3 ARM Chromebook. Using it the past few weeks! (Early gift).

  • Jonathan Hagberg

Spent the holidays with my family, eating and drinking my stomach near to explosion.

  • Kevin Amundson

I went to see The Hobbit and Les Miserables with my family. Homemade pizza is our traditional Holiday meal. :)

This is a Boxing Day story! This morning, after extensive research, I had my list of MicroSD and portable HD goodies ready – and decided to go to a combination Best Buy / Future Shop location further into town to double my chances of getting what I wanted. After fighting the traffic and parking gods to get there it turned out that NEITHER store had any stuff in stock.

Disillusioned, I stopped by the smaller, local Future Shop to at least get some cheap batteries for my girl’s new toys, without standing in line for half an hour as I would’ve at the more downtown location. Naturally, there are no crowds, parking galore, and neat stacks of the cards and drives I was after. Also, NO CHEAP BATTERIES.

You just can’t win sometimes… Ah well, at least batteries will still be cheap next time! :D

  • iamXiV92a

My girlfriend picked up the GoalZero Guide 10 Plus Mobile Kit to keep our phones charged while we’re out camping (tent-style, not that cabin b.s.) – next trip Broken Bow lake then a week long trek in Colorado with some friends – we’re going to have a lot of fun!!

  • NamelessTed

    still hoping for a win.

  • MC_Android

Well I had the stomach flu for the last couple days…been cooped up in my room throwing up and all that other fun stuff. I was surprised to find my girlfriend pay me a visit and she made me chicken soup and I swear she’s an angel because I felt better almost right after (then I threw up again last night). That’s my Christmas story of the year; there was a lot of agony but the fact that she cared about me enough to take care of me let me see a silver lining in all of this! Now excuse me as I huddle around the toilet and hurl my guts out :(

By the way, winning this grand prize will help cheer me up as well! Merry Christmas A&Me!

  • alexander betafan7

After the madness of gift-giving, I really like sitting around playing low-tech board games(Settlers of Catan, Cribbage etc) and trying to keep the phone off as much as possible. Later on, the 21 and over crowd sample and share our favorite holiday ales. Good times

  • amgala

My best Christmas present was finally celebrating with my wife in our new home!

  • msgnyc

Please pick me. My family xmas was horrible after being robbed xmas eve. :’(

  • acuda27

I drove out to Colorado with my aunt and had my first white Christmas, it was beautiful and breathtaking. Thanks snow from baby Jesus was by far the best gift, I felt like a little kid again, playing with my family in the snow. The weather here is very cold 7° at night, so my favorite gift were the super warm pj’s my aunt got me :) wish they had little androids on them though :/

    • dbcher

    True story..
I did not get a single thing for Christmas this year.
I bought things for everyone else in my immediate family…wife, kid, mother-in-law, nephew etc….
but not a single own for me.
my 5 year old felt so bad he tried to give me one of his toys…my wife just laughed.

    so yeah,
    i need to win something

  • thekaz

My gift to my wife was a new Droid DNA. Much, much nicer than the Droid 2 she was using prior. The other part of my gift was getting it set up as a phone worthy to be featured on mycolorscreen! I am having a lot of fun customizing her home screen for her. And she is appreciating having a slick looking phone!

  • WatcherJohn

My wife’s health is very poor. Last Friday night, she got a double transfusion and was released from the hospital so we could have our celebration on Saturday. Our 27 year old daughter lives about 200 miles away and could only be here last weekend due to work schedule. Our son is a recent employee for a major phone/tablet/way-of-life company and would also be working through the Holiday proper. Saturday morning, my wife snatched my daughter in secret, gave her a shopping list (checked it twice) and sent her off. While I cooked the Yule feast, my daughter snuck in to see my wife, packages in hand. We all settled around the table and gave thanks for our simple feast. Afterwards, we gathered in the living room – my wife Linda, our daughter Kristin, my son James, his boyfriend Chris, and James’s best friend Jerry who had no family to spend Christmas with. Linda then handed each of us a stocking filled with the little treasures that she had been working out while in the hospital. Each one of us got our favorite candies, special gift cards, and some cute little something or other that was special between each of us and my wife.
    It was really cool.
    It was the best!

This Christmas was spent at an uncle’s house. There was great food and a lot of fine spirits, along with a karaoke machine. While normally alcohol and karaoke blend well together, I was the only individual in their early 20′s. Everyone else was over 40 or under 18. For that reason, I felt that I did not fit in with the parents and that I also did not fit in with the kids. The majority of my night was spent observing people attempting to sing, but really butchering classics and also observing little kids running around, which kept me pondering how they did not run out of energy. At 12 we all wished each other a Merry Christmas and went around kissing each other on the cheeks or shaking hands. After the show of affection we all exchanged gifts. Santa was good to me this year, which means I was well behaved, since being naughty only gets you coal. The only gift missing is one from Andy the android; common AndroidandMe! Let this be the year I brag about wining something. :)

Hope everyone else had a pleasant holiday celebration.

  • ldouglas64

Every Christmas, I pull a practical joke on one of my nieces or nephews. The best so far was the “Russian” box I pulled on one of the nieces.

I took five boxes of different sizes so that each box would fit in the next larger box, kind of like the Russian dolls. I wrapped the first box in several layers of duct tape that I had cut into strips so that she couldn’t unwrap the tape in one piece. I then placed this box on the next larger box and repeated the taping. I repeated this for each box, except for the largest box, which was wrapped in traditional paper.

When my niece got her present her eyes got really because the box was big. She tore into opening the box and was surprised to see the next box. After several minutes of removing strips of duct tape, she got to the next box. This continued for almost 30 minutes before she got to the last box. When she opened the box she found a note that said look on the bottom of the first where I had taped an envelope with a gift certificate. The expression on her face was priceless.

  • Kilgore Trout

I sat on the couch and watched watch others open their presents, it was fun to see. I got my traditional gifts of ties and aftershave. I gave a couple of tablets and a laptop and everyone seemed quite pleased… Winning this would make up for all the ties that will never see the light of day. :)

This year was the first time me and my wife hosted Christmas Eve at our house (in Norway we celebreate Christmas Eve). It was a lot of work, but everyone had a good time so it was all worth it.

  • Cole Loomis

I had an uneventful day. Watched movies, played games, ate food, opened presents.

  • tanman888

It was a case of constant non-stop cooking and eating.
Like every other year it was pure gluttony!

  • sunrise

Every year for Christmas we get together and make a grand feast. It resembles Thanksgiving day dinner with ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pecan pie to name a few. The kids open their presents and the adults drink spiked egg nog. Then we usually play board games and watch tv until we pass out from eating too much. The best gift is just being around family.

  • Anthony Massingham

We’ve started a new family tradition : Wood fired pizzas.

This is a tradition I fully endorse.

We also found out my sister’s dog is scared of pictures of Schubert.

My favourite gift was a new pair of jeans.. means I don’t have to wear the old patched-up ones anymore! Woo!

  • vforvortex

Well I was enjoying my new gift. New Asus android tablet tf201. :) and spent time having dinner with friends and family. Enjoyed a white Christmas, first for the wife. And even merrier, Lakers won.

  • Deeds

This Christmas was great, and I didn’t even receive any new gadgets. I got some new skis, but the best part was being able to spend it with my family. They are the most important, and I’m glad that everyone was able to make it this year. Plus they may be staying a while with all this snow ;-)

  • fletchtb

I will be dead if my wife ever reads this, but here’s hoping she won’t.

First, let’s establish that it is my wife’s job to wrap the presents for our kids. This is a task performed on December 24th after the kids are in bed. Second, I generally have no idea which presents are from Santa and which ones are from us. It is typically just my job to move things around, get more tape, etc.

On the 24th, we went to our neighbor’s house for drinks and hors d’ourves. My wife decided to plow through a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of eggnog without eating anything. I guess she just doesn’t like drunken dogs (cocktail weiners) and Swedish meatballs. With that said, she was unexpectedly plastered by the time we walked home. She happened to fall asleep (passed out) while putting our youngest to bed. An hour later I decided to wake her up to wrap the gifts for our kids (see point #2 above). It was no easy task getting the wife up out of our son’s bed. It took much prodding and convincing so that our children’s Christmas would not be messed up. Eventually, I was able to get her up and into our living room to wrap presents (after a quick stop by the washroom to toss her nog). She proceded to very slowly wrap presents for the next 2+ hours occasionally emptying her stomach into the trash can located next to her wrapping station, which was an unbelievable treat for me as she has never allowed me to witness her throwing up in our 16+ years together.

A Christmas miracle ensued and all the presents were eventually wrapped and placed under the tree. Our kids were thrilled with all they received from both Santa and us. My wife was barely able to participate, but she somehow managed to lay there on her new yoga mat and feign some excitement for our kids. As soon as everything was open, she headed back to bed to sleep off the previous night’s misfortunes. I was left to setup and play with both of our children’s toys. What a merry christmas for all!!!

Good luck to all who qualify. This will be an unbelievable prize for someone to win.

    • fletchtb

I should also add that this is not typical behavior for my wife, but it certainly made for a unique Christmas experience.

  • iSpanish

My favourite gift was 2 tickets for fluffyguy, Gabriel Iglesias. front seats, for me and my girlfriend!

  • Ardrid

I think my favorite gift, at least this year, has to be my Kindle Paperwhite + Oberon Design case. It’s absolutely fantastic device, quite honestly a major step up from my Kindle 3. My favorite gift of all time is probably my Sega Genesis. So many classic memories stem from that system.

  • zacks2art

Wow this is a great prize pack!!! Well I don’t have any super exciting stories but I did have a great Christmas. I made out great and got some awesome gifts myself. I gave my dad the Vizio CoStar google TV which was a huge victory because he is a huge techie that has everything and I found something I knew would be a crowd pleaser. I received both the Asus transformer Infinity and I am loving the Tegra graphics. This is my first Tegra device. I have always been a fan and user of the GeForce series PC video cards and the mobile has not fallen far from the tree. I also got a smart dock for my note 2. My brother is in town from Atlanta and he got me a terrible tacky matching Star Wars storm trooper shirt, so we could wear our matching shirts to go see the hobbit. Was a great Christmas especially since the worst thing that happened during the evening was that I drank too much “nog” and got spanked at ping pong by a brother who is ever eager to be the gloating winner. Ugh. I won’t live it down…… Thanks AndMe you guys have a great resource here!!!

  • Nwemo

Drinking Roulette is my story.I don’t know if you’ve ever played this game, but I will allude you to a thought: you let two drunk people make shots with ‘random drinks’.You can’t smell your shot before having it-lemon juice mixed with milk wouldn’t be my first order at a bar let me tell you that much.Milk curdles.

  • Dan13

It was an interesting Christmas day this year. The eight and nine year old in the house decided that the time to open presents was flippin’ four in the morning. Oh, but it was fun. We all opened our gifts and had a grand ‘ol time. The joy lasted all day and well into the night. It started snowing later in the day, making that Christmas my first white Christmas. It was a fantastic Christmas.

The best gift I got this year was from my boyfriend. He knows I miss him when we’re apart and like to snuggle with something, so he got me a plushy companion cube from Portal so I can sleep with it and be close to him even when we’re far away.

The best part is I made him sleep with it before I left so now it smells like him.
    Best gift, by far.

  • cthonctic

My story is a rather sad one: My father got an iPhone 4S and my sister an iPad mini. My mother already has an old iPad and also received iPhone + iPad from work. My sister’s boyfriend also has an iPhone. They all seem to believe everything the Apple commercials tell them: how special, magical and bestest-at-everything iDevices are.

At some point I just stopped caring about their “Apple this, iThingy that”, let them figure out how not everything “just works” (hehe) and went back to enjoy my unlocked, rooted Nexus 7 running Paranoid Android.

    • Bryan Stoner

Same here! My 2 half brothers and my half sister (and their kids) all have ipads, iphones, and macbooks scattered throughout them. There’s not an android in sight other than my family.

You are the lone warrior! I give you my best wishes. Especially since you chose paranoid android XDD I love that rom.

  • erikiksaz

I received a blue ant q2. Makes my life way easier because I usually have to unplug my aux input, find my headset, untangle that bastard, then finally proceed to answer the phone. The BT headset makes it so much easier!

  • kelltrash14

My sister’s entire family got ipads…including her 3 year old. I had to suppress some audible sighs. So did my mother. I stand alone against this iTide in my family! Picture a 3 year old trying to even hold up a (comparatively)massive iPad. Sigh.

  • yankeesusa

Don’t have a tradition, just like to spend time with family around a bonfire in the backyard roasting bratwurst and smores and drinking our homemade alcoholic concoctions like our mango long island iced tea.

  • Bryan Stoner

MMMmm bacon wrapped filet mignon and a round of candy goodies. I gave my parents my asus transformer and had them open up gmail for an amazon gift card XD My dad had watercolored an awesome card for me about how apples & Apple are bad and how samsung will soon rule the world. It is definitely one of the coolest cards he has written. Overall it was a very peaceful christmas and we all had a really nice time just being together ;)

  • RhynosAndroid

Well our’s started out grand. Waking up to my beautiful Fiancee’s smiling face. Oh the calmness… Soon it would all be over. After getting the boy up (surprisingly difficult considering what lay in wait for the breathing tornado to get into downstairs below the tree,) he slowly made his way out of bed.

Obviously he was thinking it was a school day was all I could reason since shortly after hitting the floor gravity kicked in and he was cemented down. After much prodding, a few choice words (all in the sanctity of my mind of course, not out loud) a little bit of dragging, we successfully made it downstairs.

And then the train came… No, just cutting it short, still trying to find the pod that grew this doppelganger that has taken my sons place.

    Merry day after Christmas!

  • gh0st665

Well, we do have the tradition of the having our family Christmas on Christmas Eve so the people in our family with kids can do the whole Santa thing. I did get my wife a 32GB Nexus 7 and she has not been able to put the thing down. She has been customizing, re-customizing, then adding books to her library, and movies to her tablet. She has taken her Nexus to bed and woken up with it in her hand. It’s hilarious! She’s like the little girl in the curious commercial! I think I gave her the best present she has ever received this year!! So, as we enjoyed a white Christmas in North Texas, she enjoyed her new Nexus 7.

Then, I kicked everyone out of the main room, sat in my chair wearing my Tom Baker scarf, my K-9 bobble head bobbling on my side table and watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special as per my personal holiday tradition. (No one jacks with my viewing of The Doctor’s Christmas Special, not even baby Jesus)

Happy Holidays! Please pick me to win!

  • Ryan Gails

Well, my Christmas consisted of some great food but even better, 24 hours of a Christmas Story was on ALL DAY LONG, and yes I forced my family to watch it with only a short break for The Jim Carey version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. All while my 1.5 year old nephew slowly tore off small pieces of wrapping paper from his gifts. It was a good time. Hope everyone had a great time!

  • luis maldonado

I spent the day with my family enjoying great food and funny stories. Then when everyone was done opening their gifts I made the announcement that me and my girlfriend of 7 years were introducing a new member to our family! I know when he’s old enough to care android will benlightyears ahead of what we’re enjoying today and he’ll love technology and android as much as I do now! :) happy holidays everyone and good luck too. And thank you android and me for this awesome opportunity to win some cool stuff.

  • Jedediah Sweetser

The best gift for Christmas is Jesus. I don’t give gifts very often for Christmas, I instead thank God that I have an opportunity for salvation. Not the most popular route, and that’s ok.

  • TheStig

My story goes like this when i was a child i always had a feeling santa was fake, he didnt really come and give out presents but my parents insisted it was real. So one night my dad dressed as santa (ofcourse i didnt know it was my dad) and came to put presents under the tree. what i had done was tide a string on the ground and as “Santa” walked towards the tree he feel and hit the tree and made it fall. The tree feel on me :P

  • Nostril

I got a Nexus 10 32GB early for Christmas! I love it! On Christmas Eve, I spent some of my day picking up free stuff on Craigslist to sell for a fundraiser, and that was an adventure! On Christmas, my day was actually uneventful. However, I did get to see a picture of my baby cousins! The winter break has been treating me well, and there’s still more left! I love Christmas!

  • damambt

It was 1993. The only reason I remember this Christmas in particular was because it was the last Christmas that the entire family was actually gathered (3 uncles, 3 aunts, 6 cousins, grandma, grandpa, big brother and big sis). Since 93 theres been deaths, divorces, and life changing events. The night itself and a home filled with loved ones was the only reason I cant forget it, and it will forever be the most special Christmas. Oh yeah and the fact that i got a sweet ass Tonka Truck. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

  • Stig03

i got a present of a batman costume!! Though a quick story one of the awesome-st Christmas present ever was when i first received my HTC hero <3

  • overclockthesun

Well, I have never received any gifts for Christmas. As much as I would love to have it, the atmosphere at home really wasn’t anything to talk about.

However, this year, some of my friends came over unannounced and well, it turned out ot be a gala time! we all enjoyed ourselves and in the end it turned out to be the best christmas I ever had. ….. considering that we did get some really good long exposure shots of Jupiter from my friends brand new dslr and my humble telescope :)

  • gp126904

I remember one year everyone got really drunk off the Christmas punch, it was a blast cause everyone was hammered and made no sense. At the time I was about 10 years old so I guess that’s why it was so funny.

  • masterpfa

Christmas is always made worthwhile for me by watching the joy on the face of the younger members of the family, but this was almost ruined one night.

When my children were 2, 5 and 7 and as Christmas was only but a few hours away, they were encouraged to go to bed early so that Santa could deliver the presents and in the morning they could open one present each before dinner.

So later that night Santa Parents (that me by the way) tip-toed down the stairs and placed all the presents under the tree and poured away half the milk and left crumbs of the biscuit (cookies to our American friends) just so they would know that Santa had been.

Back in bed after about an hour or two my wife and I heard some noise and decided to investigate.

We were greeted by the ringleader, 7 year old, and her siblings carrying out an assault on ALL the presents. It was mayhem, paper everywhere and every single present opened.

Did they have a look of guilt on their faces, not in the slightest, it was however the most enjoyable feeling of total happiness for my wife and me just to see the delight on their faces.
(OK our presents had been opened and discarded too but besides that)

I had a transplant at Christmas night, some years ago. It’s actually a bit sad to be in a hospital at this time, but we can ease the burden by being in company of our family, some friends (if you’re close to where you live — I wasn’t) and a cheerful hospital staff. Christmas is now twice as special for me.

Besides, what else could I want besides being OK _and_ winning here at A&M? Nothing! :-)

ps.: I am _not_ making this up, btw.

My sister has a Kindle Fire. Her husband got a Nexus for christmas. My dad got an off brand Android 4.0 tablet that works and he loves it. I am the only one who didnt get a tablet for christmas, such a bummer!

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum!!!!

Need to get this treasure chest.

We have a awesome Christmas this year. We had decorated the entire house in the theme of “Treasure Island” (obviously with a Christmas tree as well).

We did some RPG style game play (our family is full of gamers) before we opened our gifts.

Instead of getting Chinese Food and going out to the movies, I stayed in, ate falafel, and watched a couple of Al Pacino movies. I would have spent some time with my Cousin, but she was on her way back from a hotel-casino weekend deal.

This Christmas was the first as a empty-nester…our daughter was with her BF most of the day…wife and I went to a movie and maybe started a new tradition for us…

My son got an entire room full of toys for Christmas. Imaginext Castle with all the trimmings, monster trucks, radio flyer scooter and on and on. All of these awesome toys were instantly invalidated the moment he opened the Hot Wheels wall tracks system. Once I got them installed on the wall in his room, we didn’t hear a peep from him for hours. I just wish I knew what we were going to do with all of those other toys.

The best part of Christmas is watching my daughter open presents from Santa, though it requires me to wake up as early as she does. Her reaction is priceless.

We bought my sister a 16GB Nexus 7 for Christmas (I know.. we should have gotten her the 32GB, but it’s all we could afford this year). Wound up taking it over to her place, and she was ecstatic about it. After getting it all set up (which we then realized we’d not unlocked it.. whoops… so she had to set it all up again), she plugged it in to charge in her kitchen.

Meanwhile we started to relax and laugh… About 30 mins later.. we hear a ‘bang’ as something hit the floor in her kitchen. Turns out my nephew decided to check out the 7, and didn’t clean his hands of grease from the food before-hand….

Turns out, when you’re trying to grab something from a shelf that’s 5ft high, and drop it onto granite tiled flooring… the device you drop gives first.

Now she gets to see how well Newegg’s extended service plans work. The device still works, but the corner is pretty mashed in.. so we’ll see.

Other than that little issue, our Christmas was pretty subdued due to finances. Still, time with the family is usually time well spent :)

Every Christmas my sisters and I would visit our parents where we would just spent time with each other. We would attend the evening service and after the service we would head back home and have a nice family dinner. This is our Christmas tradition and will continue to be in the years to come.

too late to sign up to win? please let me get a late Christmas gift! ;)

  • Alan Reboli

Is this still going on? I hope so!

  • droilfade

The best gift for Christmas I ever got was this year! I came home to visit after 3.5 years! Man, there is nothing like home!

  • Jeff Pan

Nice. I feel sad seeing old homeless people and I made it a point to contribute something for a person in need.

  • jonathan3579

    Oh my god ..

I got shorts for a gift. Supposedly my girlfriend wanted to be practical.

When will we enter Phase Three?

  • Dr.Carpy

Merry Christmas everyone! Gave my wife the Note 2 for Christmas, and no surprise, she loves it! My best to everyone, and the to all in 2013!

  • R.S

Not sure if it’s too late to enter (didn’t realize this was a different contest then the one on the 25th) but my favorite gift would have to be the Powerwheels Jeep we got my nephew. Funny as it may seem, for him it was like two presents in one; the Jeep plus the box it came in.

interesting story from Christmas you ask…hmmm…How about the fact I drove over 1,200 miles in three days to see two families. Does that count?

  • thel0nerang3r

Growing up I wasn’t really into the holidays. It was a time to see people that I only saw during Christmas day. The food was quite awesome, so that was a great plus and I got to talk to adults about random stuff.

  • sasepatrupc

Lol! My best friend and his wife brought their kids over, and I got to dress up as Santa. Fially all that extra weight paid off. All went well until their eldest one recognized me and they both started crying. Still got glue on my face. Should have used the double sided tape.

  • clauprim

I finally convinced my boss to have the office Christmas party actually on Christmas day, and 4 out of 12 people show up. Guess that teaches me a lesson!

My dad got a Nexus 7 this Christmas. It was a hoot watching his face as he struggled to play Need For Speed and cursed the cops. We had our heartiest laughs this year playing with Google Talk and the face-contorting features on the video chat. It was a great Christmas!

  • rbcameron1

I would create a new Christmas story. One where I make a video of me donating this to my old high school on their career day in a surprise lecture in the auditorium. The lecture would entail AaM and the field of technology. Technically it would happen after Christmas though.

  • RhynosAndroid

So all I really wanted for Christmas was an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! Everyone said I was going to shoot my eye out, but I wasn’t about… What, you already heard this story? Oh, well never mind then….

I can say this almost assuredly though, I wouldn’t shoot my eye out w/this prize pack!!!

My girlfriend bought me a Wii so that I’m not to lonely while she is a half year in UK :)
