Meet Verizon’s next Motorola devices: Droid RAZR Ultra, RAZR M Ultra

Verizon hasn’t released a new device in a long time, and Motorola is busy reinventing itself. Neither company has shown anything new or interesting to keep customers engaged or even loyal, and no one knows what’s in store. Luckily, well-timed leaks can help us figure it out. And even better, leaks revitalize consumer interest in a company. Everyone wins!

The newest info released by famous tipster @evleaks reveals the names of two upcoming Motorola devices for Verizon. Not content with letting either the DROID or RAZR brands die, the newest devices will be called the Droid RAZR Ultra and Droid RAZR M Ultra, most likely replacing the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR M in Verizon’s lineup.

Judging by the most recent RAZR lineup, there probably won’t be anything too special about these devices. Motorola devices have been nice, but nothing stellar, as of late. However, we’re excited to see them anyway, and even more excited to see what the new Motorola has in store for us. Will you be considering the new line of RAZR products on Verizon Wireless?

Maybe this is what they are going to call their version of the xfon?

God I hope not. If they get to rebrand the device like all carriers use to with the Galaxy S lineup, it will be terrible.

I assume this was some of the last devices the old Motorola had in the pipeline and Google is just flushing it out. Make way for Moto X!

I think so too. It’s the last few devices designed before Google bought them.

  • Andre

Nope, not interested in this. Bring on the X!

But if the rumored specs are true, the XFON won’t be a premium tier smartphone but a middle of the road smartphone. These phones could actually have nicer hardware, but that of course is pure speculation on my part.

If these are the last phones prior to Google’s acquisition of Moto I’m probably not going to be interested, but I’ll wait until I see what they are first.

I’ve always liked the “Maxx” variants of the Motorola phones (never owned one, but liked the idea).

Except with a name like “Droid RAZR Ultra”, adding Maxx makes it simply too long.

      Oh, it does?

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4g.

      It’s a thing.

Verizon Motorola Droid Razr M Ultra Maxx

Sprint Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch

Let the competition for name length commence. Bring on the M, S, plus, HD, LTE, Touch, Ultra, Maxx variants of everything lol

        • kazahani

I have to believe VZW would add 4G LTE to the end of that…

  • kazahani

I actually want to see the RAZR M Ultra. the RAZR M was one of my favorite devices of 2012. If they give it a slightly bigger battery and a 720p screen I’ll at least consider it, I just hope that they fixed their camera sensor…

Has anyone who knocks the quality of Motorola phones ever used either the Razr HD or the HD Maxx? They are rock solid, dependable, fast and the batteries are incredible. There is NO other phone out there that can come close to matching the endurance of the Razr Maxx HD, period. I’ve purchased and used more than 10 phones over the last 10 years or so, Android as well as iOS, Samsung as well as Motorola. The Razr Maxx HD is by far the best I’ve ever owned.

So many RAZRs just like the old days.
