Verizon HTC One launch ‘moved’ to August 15?

We’re still waiting on Verizon to officially narrow down the launch windows for the HTC One, but that doesn’t mean we’re completely in the dark. A new leak shows that the HTC One’s launch on big red has been “moved” August 15. The wording in the image gives credence to a previous report that claimed Verizon would start selling the HTC One on August 1.

With HTC projecting the company’s first ever operating loss for Q3 of this year, we’re sure HTC is quite anxious to start selling the HTC One to Verizon’s 100+ million customers. While the newness of the HTC One may have worn off my now, it’s still considered to be one of the best phones currently on the market.

If Verizon does decide to finally launch the HTC One on August 15, will you be making your way to your local Verizon store to pick up HTC’s flagship Android phone?

I feel Verizon killed this worse than the bionic dibacle. It seems like they really want nothing to do with this phone and are showing it.

I know! I own a Droid Bionic. I loved my phone. and it was simply cast aside for the crappy razor brand name phone. I need the upgrade. And if it wasn’t for my unlimited data plan, I would showing Verizon the peace out sign as soon as my contract is up. I was wanting my upgrade instead BUT if they are making me wait even longer then I am gone. This rollout is STUPID!

Switch to T-Mobile. They have a decent unlimited plan and you can buy any unlocked GSM phone you want.

        • redraider133

As soon as their coverage and lte expands I will be all over it. Only reason I stick with Verizon is I am grandfathered into unlimited data otherwise I would have been gone a long time ago

HTC got this treatment for thunderbolt too, tons of delays. The bionic or the One, it’s a tough one to call a worse blunder considering how big of a deal the One is for HTC. DNA is not the same.

final nail in the coffin for HTC One

          Well , I wouldn’t say that.

    • romy134

I definitely get that feeling as well

    • nicotinic

Yeah but the Bionic was a POS. I still want the ONE.

It must really sick to have to wait so long for this to finally come to Verizon. It seems like this is not a top priority for Verizon and it’s hurting HTC because no one wants to wait 3+ months for a phone when customers from other carriers are enjoying theirs for a good while now.

    • redraider133

I think Verizon is still mad at Htc for the thunderbolt lol

      • http://htcsource.com Nick Gray

Doubtful since Verizon was the one who ordered it. They wanted something to test out their new LTE network and forced HTC to rush the product.

Keep in mind that consumers can’t all upgrade their phones at the same time. There are a few people who will pay extra to get an early upgrade, but most people don;t start looking at new phones until they know they qualify for a full upgrade. The Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhones sell a lot at launch, but momentum builds after a few months as marketing continues and recommendations from friends start to kick in.

Verizon messes up everything. Not that it would’ve changed the position of what HTC is in, but it could’ve helped some if it came out gate ready on all carriers. That would be a demand if I ran the company. If the carrier wants to be different and bull around, then they’ll miss out on the device all together.

    • Jillxz

All Verizon is interested in is pushing those Droids which I would never buy.

  • redraider133

We can only hope that is the case. I could see Verizon definitely doing that to further “kick Htc while they are down”

    • Jillxz

“Screw HTC, lets get some more Motorola phones.”

The Motorola Phones are inferior to the HTC One.and Samsung Galaxy 3&4

  • mecky33

This whole thing really sucks I was looking to upgrade two of my phones to the One. I really wish Verizon would stop moonlighting with Motorola. I have yet to see a Moto phone that works really well and is user friendly.

I was told by a Verizon rep that if you have unlimited data now and want to keep it, you have to pay full price for the HTC One, even if you’re eligible for an upgrade and even with a 2 yr contract. He said, discounted price, no unlimited data. Full price, keep unlimited data.

    • Droid Sam

Its always been that way. If you want a discount on a new phone, you need to sign a NEW contract which means you will relinquish your old unlimited plan.

    • Joseph

This is true. Found a spot that found a glitch in Verizon’s system and let me upgrade two phones and I still have my unlimited data

  • Justin Sparks

Not sure if ill get the One or not, may wait to see what they roll out in Q3, especially since I have purchased my last two phones out right full price to keep my unlimited plan so I will want to wait for something truly spectacular if I’m spending $400+

I wish the freaking so called “tipsters” would just shut the hell up. They know dick.

Too late, the galaxy s4 is serving me just fine.

  • David

No I will not. Verizon killed the htc one for me. I’m now getting the droid maxx

    • Droid Sam

I get the appeal of the long battery, but the HTC One build quality, boomsound speakers and amazing specs are simply too much to ignore. I’ll be waiting at least until the end of Aug for the HTC One.

  • donger

    Took too long.
