Telus branded Nexus 5 renders aren’t making the wait any easier

Nexus fever is spreading through the Android community like wildfire. I know a handful of our readers have been infected, and this is not going to help.

Canadian mobile tech blog Mobile Syrup has managed to snag some renders of a Telus branded Nexus 5 that look absolutely fantastic. There’s nothing super special about the renders, but they do confirm several other details about the Nexus 5 and KitKat we’ve seen in previous leaks. There’s white status icons, a transparent notification and navigation bar, some redesigned icons (like the phone and app drawer), a new look for folders and a round speaker near the top of the device.

Android fans all over the world have been going nuts trying to figure out when the Nexus 5 will release, taking anything and everything they can dig up as a clue in some secret mind-game Google is all torturing us with. Rest assured folks, as soon as the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat are ready, Google will let us know. It can’t possibly be much longer now.

Still jamming my finger into the screen thinking I could get my hands on it.

I am happy the icons are having their own character and much cleaner look. I used to think so many icons look the same or had the same exact color scheme confusing them at a quick glance. I really want developers to be inspired and bring beauty and passion into their apps. Both for the phone and tablet.

Does this render mean it’ll be released in Canada first? That’d be cool.

Does anyone know if the SIM chip will be user accessible in the N5? I spend part of the year in America and part in South Korea; need to have service in both countries.
