Samsung announces Galaxy S 4 mini coming to four US carriers next month

Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini

Hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy S III mini inexplicably coming to AT&T a year after release, Samsung has announced that their much newer Galaxy S 4 mini is coming to the US. The miniature device will be coming to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular at the beginning of November with pricing, carrier specific colors and release date to be announced.

Unlike its big brother, the Galaxy S 4 mini is no high-end phone. It features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a qHD 960 x 540 resolution, a 1.7GHz dual core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of memory with a microSD slot, an 8MP rear camera with zero shutter lag, a 1,900 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2. And of course it features extras like an IR blaster, Bluetooth 4.0 and various software features.

If you decide to purchase a Galaxy Gear, this device will soon be getting an update with full Gear support; so, you won’t have to shell out for a high-end phone. Knowing Samsung, it will eventually get the update to Android 4.3 and maybe even further.

Samsung has also announced that two of its accessories for high-end phones are coming to the Galaxy S 4 mini. The standard flip cover everyone is very familiar will be available in many colors, while the S-View flip cover with the built in window will be available in black and white.

We don’t typically get excited for mid-range phones like this, but it is still a nice little device. It is actually significantly smaller than its big brother, unlike the HTC One mini, so you’ll be getting a small device. Hopefully it will be priced cheap on all four carriers. Would you buy a Galaxy S 4 mini for yourself or anyone else you know? Leave a comment!

Samsung are genuine comedians. In china you can buy a quad core MTK6589 device with a 1280×720 for next to nothing. Yet samsung think its good business practice to straight rip customers with sub standard low spec devices cheaply made devices.

Why they continue to pump the market full of junk further diluting the already shaky reputation of the Galaxy line is beyond me. Why they don’t limit the number of handset options and actually take proper care in making a smaller number of handsets to account for each price braket. All these comical almost the same variants are just pointless, and actually serve to confuse consumers and make updating a more laborious process with hundreds of different equally rubbish models to keep up with,

It’s good yeah, I’ve downloaded dead trigger 2 on it and it handles that fine with Hugh graphics, so I guess that show’s something.

They are saturating the market. They need to stop. Know what you wanna make and make it right. Stop with all this extra. They announced this a long time ago.
