Oppo: N1 CyanogenMod Edition to begin shipping internationally in December

Oppo N1 CyanogenMod

After teasing a limited edition version of its flagship N1 with CyanogenMod preinstalled, Oppo today revealed when consumers will be able to start hammering their computer’s F5 key to try and snag one of the unique handsets. The company says that the N1 CyanogenMod Edition will begin shipping in early December for the same price as the standard N1. When it does, the CyanogenMod-ified handset will come with several extra goodies, including CyanogenMod stickers and a special N1 case with both CyanogenMod mascot Cid and Oppo mascot Ollie on it.

CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondik revealed back in September that he and his fellow developers had raised $7 million in funding as part of an effort to launch Cyanogen Inc., a company with the goal of continuing to make CyanogenMod better, safer and easier to install. Cyanogen Inc.’s future plans are still a bit up in the air right now, but teaming up with Oppo on this limited edition N1 is certainly a nice way to get your company’s ball rolling. There’s no word on precisely how limited the N1 CyanogenMod edition will be, so if you’d like to be one of the lucky folks that owns one and show your support for CyanogenMod at the same time, it might be a good idea to start gathering your pennies now.

Cid and Ollie are great and all, but Sifl and Olly were the best.

Well I liked the overall design especially the beauty of camera but I will still go for Nexus 5 instead and the reason is specs.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before, but does anyone know how they will update the OS version on this? Will they be OTA?!

      Good question, curious as well.

    I love it… really amazing!

Although this phone does look amazing I don’t know if it can compete against the google nexus 5. If it has lte and its priced at or below the n5 price it may have a shot.

According to the N1 user forums, it will not have LTE (at least in the USA version).

Not really a deal breaker for me, since I’ve lived 2+ years on my G-note 1 without LTE.
Hard to miss something you’ve never had. I use less than 2gig data anyway.

Let everyone else jump to 4g, your 3g will just keep getting faster and faster, as the masses move over.

Where I live in the UK, over the last 12 month 3g has got quick enough to stream Netflix if needed, so I’m not dropping my unlimited 3g for very overpriced and very limited 4g, for no real world (for me) gains.
