Amazon offering 50GB Cloud Drive storage for one year with purchase of select phones

‘Tis the season of deals, my friends, and today Amazon has kicked off a new promotion that anyone in the market for a new device may want to check out. The retailer is now offering 50GB of free Amazon Cloud Drive storage for one year with the purchase of a select Android smartphone. There are 106 phones available, including devices from Samsung, Pantech, Motorola, Kyocera and HTC. Some of the eligible handsets include the Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note 3, Nexus 5 and HTC One.

So what are the nitty gritty details? The promotion will run through December 31 and is open to the first 50,000 customers that order one of the eligible phones. The 50GB of storage will be added to the buyer’s account within 10 days of his or her purchase and will be available for one year. Amazon says that a user’s digital content won’t be deleted after that year is up and that customers will have the opportunity to renew their subscription at that time.

Obviously some folks are going to find 50GB of cloud storage more useful than others, but this still seems like a decent deal for smartphone shoppers, especially when you consider that Amazon is selling many of its phones at a lower price than the carriers. If you’re on the hunt for a new handset and could use a few extra gigs of storage space, then hit up the Amazon link below and get to spending.
