Samsung’s newest tablets have been announced at CES, and I must say they look pretty amazing. Though I don’t usually like tablets much, I can definitely appreciate those awesome displays. But Samsung is looking to make the new tablets even more attractive to consumers with a surprising amount of free content and subscriptions.

Buyers of the tables will receive 1TB of free Bitcasa storage for 3 months, a 12 month subscription to Bloomberg Businessweek+, $5 off your first Blurb purchase, a 6 month subscription to Cisco WebEx Meetings, 50GB of Dropbox free for two years, EasilyDo Pro, Handcom Office, 3 months of LinkedIn premium, 6 months of LIVESPORT.TV, Oxford Advanced Learner’s A-Z, 2 years of Remote PC, and Sketchbook Pro. And if you buy the largest tablets, the NotePRO 12.2 and TabPRO 12.2, you’ll also get a year of Evernote and 12 weeks of the NY Times.

This is a staggering amount of free content. It follows Samsung’s tradition of including as many features as possible instead of only those that are useful, but when you’re getting free stuff, you can’t really complain. Will you be getting a new Samsung tablet this year, and does this incentive help make that decision? Leave a comment!

What’s the price on these tablets?
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want half of these “free” services. Especially because to take advantage of them, you probably have to provide your credit card which will be charged at the end of the “free” term. I wouldn’t be surprised if all these companies pay Samsung for each trial subscription that people sign up for. It’s a way for them to get users started on their service.

@Chuxter: Well, the current Note 10 at Costco is somewhere north of $500. So I’d imagine that the new offerings are north of that, especially the 12″ model. I’d like to have the 10″ Note. I have the Note3 and love it but when reading PDF files, having to expand and then scroll around to read a document gets tiresome.

If Samsung starts delivering 64gb or higher of internal Ram on tablets for Australia I will consider upgrading my existing Galaxy, otherwise I start looking at other tablets. So far Samsung has a very good record for screwing Australian consumers, by selling only the 16gb version of tablets, whereas Apple supplies the 128gb iPad.

I bought a tablet at Best Buy in Buffalo. It worked well with wifi there and when i travelled to Barbados. However, now that I am at home in Trinidad it still shows Barbados weather etc. and cannot be connected to my wifi at home. Please advise.

I don’t really care about the free contents. I pretty much agree with Chuxter. For me, I’d rather have a ‘clean’ PC, or tablet to start with. The reason being, half of the time, I don’t use the pre-installed programs or apps. They end up taking up space and 99% of the time, you can’t really uninstall those programs.

    Wow, so much free stuff.
