Google Play birthday sale now live with discounts and exclusive in-game content

They grow up so fast, don’t they? Today is Google Play’s second birthday, and just like it did with the store’s first birthday, Google is holding a sale to celebrate. There’s a pretty wide variety of content on offer, including discounts on in-app purchases, movies, TV shows and more. Here’s just a sampling of what Google’s got on offer today:

  • The Hunger Games Adventures (game): $5 in-game credit
  • Badland (game): Play as Bugdroid, 50% discount
  • 50 Cent (music): Free download of “In Da Club”
  • Black Sabbath (music): “Paranoid” album download for $3.99
  • “The Cat in the Hat” (book): Digital download for $0.99
  • “The Amazing Spider-Man” (movie): Discounted to $7.99
  • “Adventure Time” (TV show): Free download of season 1, episode 1 “Slumber Party Panic”
  • Every Day with Rachael Ray (magazine): Monthly subscription for $1.99

The official QuizUp app officially landed on the Play Store’s virtual shelves today as well, making Google Play’s second birthday even sweeter. Sure, there may not be any crazy deals to be had, but with so much content on offer, I’m sure that you can find something to download. If you do, be sure to swing by the comments below and let us know what you snagged!

This sale is lame. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Few sales give free apps on Google & developers often tell me theyre not allowed and also not allowed to give you a promo code for a free download like you can do on Apple
