Important to say the unproven Automatic requires you to spend $100 on a device first

    • David Brier

Not only do you have to spend $100, but you get an app that is very flakey at best. Even on ios7 it was hit or miss with connectivity on startup. If you want something similar, get Dash which is a free app and you just need a $10 non proprietary OBD II device that you can get on eBay or Amazon. The same device will also allow you to use the torque app which gives you tons more information than Automatic.

Huey app is actually really neat, I’ve been using it for the past few days and can vouch for how cool the ambient light effects behind my TV look. Also here’s a YouTube video showing you how it works:

There is another awesome new app in the Play store called Knock Control. With it’s help you can pause, resume, change volume and switch tracks by simply knocking on the phone while it’s in your pocket. Check it out! You will like it!
