OnePlus One camera samples leak, look good to us

The OnePlus One is expected to be an affordable device with a price tag under $400 USD, but that doesn’t mean it will skimp on specs. In fact, according to the latest info provided by OnePlus itself, the One will feature top of the line specs that rival devices like the HTC One (M8) and the Samsung Galaxy S5. With a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera, it’s pretty damn high-end.

However, the camera’s megapixel count means little when it comes to photo quality. Software, optimization and the quality of the lenses make or break a camera. And with the OnePlus One’s sub-$400 price tag, I can’t lie: I’ve been worried. Would it suffer the same fate as the Nexus devices and their cameras? Well thanks to some leaked photo samples from the OnePlus One, we’re confident in saying that won’t be the case.

The 13-megapixel sensor inside the OnePlus One isn’t all that special, but the f/2.0 aperture and the six-lens array are fairly unique. This combo results in photos that are sharp, colorful and very pleasant. The resolution is somewhat low, so we can’t judge the detail as much, but these samples make us a little more excited to see the One. There’s only 12 more days left until the announcement; are you excited?

Specs like that for ~$400 will put serious pressure on the big players. Even if I don’t buy one I am eagerly waiting to see what if any impact this will have in the high end smartphone space. I hope they release versions that cover all of the US major carrier radio bands.

A couple of the pictures are edited wit software. I don’t mean in a fake way, but you can clearly see that it was used with the front camera and they had on the soft skin feature. She looks artificial. This feature is on the Galaxy S phones. I really hate it because It’s on by default and you always have to turn it off when trying to take a group selfie or front picture. It’s honestly a horrible feature. Also, she’s wearing those contacts that make peoples pupils look bigger. Like Anime. There is such thing. I’m not trying to be an ass.

Once you look pass that though the pictures look decent. Better then the M8. A better judgement once we actually see it in full glory and reviews. I’m interested in this device. I hope they make a solid launch and once the dust settles I want to see pass the hype and if they decide to continue the following year with a successor.
