UPDATE: Verizon rolling out minor update to HTC One (M8)

HTC One (M8) update Verizon

The HTC One (M8) was missing one thing here in the States, and that was extreme power savings mode. For whatever reason, the feature was taken out of the devices here but were promised to be put back in. Following in Sprint’s footsteps, Verizon is now rolling out an update for the HTC One with the feature in tow.

The update changelog does not mention the power savings mode, but it includes a bunch of other fixes. Things like data connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity and roaming notifications have been fixed, along with some new features in the Gallery like copy/paste and mute for video highlights. It’s a very small update, but a welcome one.

Now it’s time for the other models to get updated with the extreme power savings mode. It’s a really useful feature, so I can’t wait until it’s available on all models. If you have a Verizon HTC One (M8), head to Settings to check for updates and tell us if you’ve already downloaded it!

Update: It looks like this update in fact does not feature the extreme power savings mode. It’s unfortunate, but Verizon has yet to include it on its HTC One (M8). We apologize for the wrong information.

I think you have your information wrong. Power saving mode is not included with this update.

You’re absolutely right, my apologies. The article has been edited to reflect this.

No power saving mode, but there is now a high performance mode in my developer options After the new ota:-)

No power saving mode indeed. You should edit the title also instead of just the ‘update’ blurb at the end of the article. I know this website isn’t about click bait but there stands chance for accusation if it’s left as is.

We love its impeccable performance, its remarkable sound quality, its great battery life and its fun camera function. Our only real beef is the lack of sharpness from the camera. All in all, HTC has hit its mark for 2014. And if you have decided to become a proud owner of this device, perhaps you’re in the market for a solid and beautiful protection case as well.

Has anyone else noticed with the latest update the battery life on Verizon phones has dropped to maybe four hours of use?
