Latest Moto E leak reveals specs, offers a clearer look at Motorola’s new device

It looks like any element of surprise that Motorola had been hoping to have for its May 13 event is now gone, because just one day after we got our first look at the Moto E, new images have leaked that give us a clear look at the upcoming handset.

Brazilian retailer FastShop today put a product page for the Moto E on its website, revealing not only what the new Motorola smartphone looks like, but what’s inside of it as well. Here’s the spec list that the site gave for the Moto E:

  • 4.3-inch display
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • 5-megapixel rear camera
  • 4GB of storage
  • 1GB of RAM
  • microSD card slot
  • 1980mAh battery

The Moto E doesn’t look terribly different from the Moto X and Moto G, sporting rounded edges and a Motorola-branded dimple beneath its rear camera. If its spec sheet holds true, though, it should be significantly cheaper than its Moto siblings. The Moto G launched with a 4.5-inch 720p display, quad-core processor and 8GB of storage for $179, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Moto E hit store shelves at around $100 or $150 without a contract.

What do you think of the Moto E? Are any of you thinking about picking one up, even just to have as a backup smartphone?

My guess is that there will be some sort of special announcement along with this phone. This phone does not deserve any press on its own.

Hopefully the X+1 gets announced too. I want to see all those 5.2 inch screen rumors get debunked.

im a big fan of the G but this looks cheap, and worse still looks like its from 2009/10 , especially the white one. i cant recal the model but it was a samsung offering iirc about the same time as the galaxy (1). may not even been an android.

the G is cheap, but doent look or act it. this looks, and with 4gb space will feel it.
